  • The 28th of June marked the very final flight of a Royal Air Force C-130J as the final pair ZH867 & ZH870 arrived at Cambridge from Brize for storage and retrofit for resale to a new operator. There was a water cannon salute for 870 but un-fortunately my footage of this is corrupt. Regardless thank you for watching and sharing this very sad moment with all at Cambridge Airport.

A magnificent aircraft. I still think they have years more service left in them and that when the next world crisis happens and we require a large heavy-lifting capability the R.A.F. will be left wanting. I still remember the wanton destruction of almost new Nimrods when Cameron came into power, leaving a huge gap in air defences until the replacements were in place.

Agreed. They'll all find new homes soon though.
