Now let us all go back... Back to the old landmarks. . . These songs, these prayer songs, these testimony songs were foundational to the worship experience in the local Black Baptist Church. Learned to carry a tune and hold a note singing these hymns. We must not lost the legacy of this music that "brought us over". We must share with our children and if possible their children. . . Perhaps you are not aware, songs in this rythm and cadence take us all the way back to Mother Aftrica.
YEAH.....IM HEAR SITTING LISTEN TO THIS SONG ...I JUST START CRYING AND PRAISE GOD FOR ALL HE HAS DONE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY....IT BRINGS ME BACK WHEN I WAS LITTLE BOY IN THE BAPTIST CHURCH.....MY MOTHERS WORDS THAT MAN STIRRED IT UP ,,,,
That's the old devotional National Baptist type hymns. Sing it doc...I'm glad to see that Bishop is still keeping those old baptist songs in mind they really mean something.
Lord, thank you for this beautiful day! Please help me to see the beauty in every day, and help others to see the beauty in your wonders. Guide me through perils toward your brilliant light. Amen.
@pastorjmatthew ...That is so true what you stated. If the church would go back to the foundation we as a people can move mountains but now church is becoming theatrical and a place for entertainment instead of a place of soul saving.
Thank God for the Full Gospel Baptist Movement.. The greatest thing I see wrong with movement is most churches concentrate on the "Full Gospel" and forget totally about the "Baptist".....It's alright to operate in the gifts but don't forget about the old stuff that make us Baptists.
I grew up pentacostal but loved when the old folks would sing songs of this nature, it taught us how to worship God in spirit and truth.
I'm an English teacher, but it ain't no harm to sing those old songs in the old school way. Glory to God.
this prove that FULL GOSPEL is truly BAPTICOSTAL!!!....and yes...THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV. PRAYER HYMNS!...we gotta bring dr. watts back!
They don't have church like this to much anywhere except for maybe those country towns. Waving my hands hhmmmmm
My Dad likes to lead this song in devotion, and probably been doing it 50 years! What a Blessing GOD IS WONDERFUL!!!
