MSYS2 - Install C/C++ Compiler Tools on Windows PC (EASILY)

Easily install C/C++ or GCC Compiler tools on Windows 10 and 11 using MSYS2 and the pacman package manager. MSYS2 let's you use pacman like you would on arch linux based distributions to install compiler tools with ease.

Does Msys2/pacman (2013) replace MinGW (2005) (which replaced Cywin (1995)), or would you use one over another for certain applications?
I know Docker containers and VMs are a little different.. but PowerShell and WSL2 also seem like a windows way of getting a linux-like terminal. Or just installing Git , GnuWin32 or unxutils seems to get you linux binaries for windows?
My goal is to make a GTK4/3/GTKMM application. I installed VS Community, but now I'm seeing I need to download more things to get it working in windows... Meson, gvsbuild, etc. All gets kinda overwhelming.. should I use something like Chocolatey/choco, winget or scoop?

I think your best bet is to program on an actual Linux distro if you plan on developing gtk applications. Otherwise like you said it just becomes a mess.
