Thank you for this helpful video. May I ask, if you hadn't had assistance to slightly open the gate valve, would the tank have simply overflowed into the emergency outlet? What was the cause of the problem?
Hopefully I shared some tips that will help save other reefers tanks while they are away! Yeah that is exactly what would of happened… which all in all isn’t very bad, but when the display started rising my ATO put a bunch of freshwater into the sump and when the display level sunk again then my high water level sensors in the sump got triggered and shut off equipment like skimmer, filter roller, carbon, etc for what would have been 3 days
The cause was just the ‘new & improved’ gate valve which still has many flaws sadly. It causes the water level in the tank to change randomly over weeks of time. My next video after the one posting this week will cover my opinions on the gate valve what a lot of other people are experiencing too. Stay tuned!
I have Blink Mini Indoor (wired) and Blink Outdoor (wireless) cameras! I currently just monitor them via the Amazon Blink App but in the future may try to display them through Apex fusion, if it’s possible.
