I cannot believe that through my decades with 4AD that they still find immaculate art. Aldous is just immaculate art! A wonder and a heart break. Blown away by this amazing artist! Just incredible!
I've never looked that good in purple. If I had a fruit pastel that size floating near me I simply would not be able to concentrate. I've loved 4AD for decades. This is why.
I've always been blown away by her writing. Her lyricism is so refined and precise, like sculpting stone with water. The same goes for her performances. She is an artist with the word, the music, the theater, and the visual art of all of her music videos. She is supernatural. And this song is right up there with her best ones.
The pixelated look for the goth makeup is iconic
Yahhh. And her expression with that makeup is so full of like... motherly love. It makes me feel seen and held.
Her art is always sweet and dangerous, creepy and alluring, catchy and strange, simultaneously mainstream and underground. For me it's her combining opposites and the tension between them that makes it so interesting and thought-provoking.

Listening to this project over her last ones, it seems the quirkiness in the voice inflections etc are not happening on this album as they were in the past either.

Saw her live at the Olympic in Boise Idaho and asked her to sign my vinyl I purchased. She looked at me like a cow looks at an oncoming train and said, “Did you even watch the show...” and walked away. I wish I could return the entire signed album, what a peach she was. @4AD @Aldous Harding

I only recently learned of Aldous Harding. I’m currently watching ALL of her videos and downloading ALL of her music. I’ve had the Designer album on repeat since purchasing it. Wow!
I recently saw her live in Chicago and got to talk with her after the show. Right before I left, I took her face in my hands and told her "You are beautiful all the way through". She waved her hand and said, "Oh, go on now." Surreal doesn't begin to describe that experience. It was a blessing.

My 6th time watching it today
"What am I doing in Dubai?". I understand the concept of feeling adrift, lost, somewhere you shouldn't be, a rock you jumped on and stayed for a minute... It's a mad world, a riotous journey if you're open to just expressing and feeling what's there in the moment... Aldous seems to encapsulate the real and unreal parts of it perfectly. Phenomenal stuff. Just been recommended by a friend!
Love how her videos always have an element of eccentricity that catches you off guard in a really good way.
I was lucky enough to see her live in Atlanta on Saturday, and all I can say is if Aldous comes anywhere near you do what you have to do hear her live. She was incredible.

Thanks 4AD. I'm really taken by this song and video. It's quite something, and a wonderful addition to Aldous Harding's Zoo Eyes song. I find myself most enchanted. Love the dark masks and bright bubbly coloured make up, not to mention the landscape here.

@@tobeysmith6425 It's so weird you should say that :) as I saw Aldus a few months back play Cambridge, and my only disappointment was that she didn't play "Fixture Picture"! I assumed it was because the harmonies were really tricky to perform live...... Recent set lists suggest that she's now performing the song, so I'll have to go and see her again (London I guess)... lol ;-) what a drag :)
