Whether or not you get first all depends on if the AI wants to teleport around or not. Sometimes getting first is extremely easy. Sometimes it's impossible. I don't understand the AI. There are really only four tracks that give me a lot of trouble. This is one of them.

Your problem was that you didn't try to launch all the other players into space
I guess only glitches~shortcuts can make reaching first place a reality.
But honestly finishing a cup already looks like an accomplishment.
