This has to be the biggest revamp of the import tool since 18 Ultimate, and I love it!!!
It's going to be so nice to be able to just copy clips off an external drive, and not mess up a project because I forgot and unplugged the external drive in the middle of an edit.
Yes that feature really comes in handy.

how can I capture videos from VHS using my dazzle? I lost my CD that came with my dazzle. I also have windows 10 now. I purchased pinnacle studio 20 ultimate, but none of your videos show how to capture videos.

Hi, I always find your videos interesting, I use Pinnacle Studio a lot often for editing video taken from the driving cab of trains with various GoPro and Sony action cameras. I have a problem, when I play the videos on my computer before editing the quality is good, but I loose some of that quality in editing. My cameras are usually set to .mp4 - 1080P - 25 fpm (Europe). I have tried using programs to re code the video to .avi format with some success. It would also be useful to have some advice on removing or reducing wind noise. Have you made a video covering how to get the best from GoPro footage? if not I would find such a video really useful. I look forward to your answer. I am using Version 20 at the moment, I have version 21.5, but I can't get it to work as well as the older version. Tim.
yeah I have version 21.5, and I can import my GoPro videos, but they do not play properly. I can only hear the audio. Do you always convert to AVI?
on ultimate 21; why is it that some files are checked and ready for importing but others dont have the ability to be checked and seem to be ignored by the program when trying to import to project bins? thanks! great video!

Hi Maliek, I just purchased Dazzle which includes Pinnacle. I'm retired and finally have time to convert the families vhs tapes. I believe I've connected the dazzle correctly r to the vcr and computer. After selecting import I see the tape playing on the computer screen but when it's finished it was never converted and written to any location. I've searched every tutorial for Dazzle only to find ones on setting it up. Your import tutorial is the closest to what I need to know but it doesn't include importing from Dazzle. I'm obviously missing things. I'm so new to this I need direction. Can you help with a few suggestions?

I just upgraded to Pinnacle 24 and would like to find out how I can import media via the DV cable from my camcorder? I have the Pinnacle 710 USB capture but it only shows two settings on the import tab, which are S-Video and standard, nothing about DV. How can I select DV so I can import? Thanks, Matt
Hi - excellent video as always. I have a problem with Studio 22 Ultimate. Import is just not recognizing video files - mts, mov, mp4. Can import jpg, png but not seeing video files. I have also tried files that I previously had imported and used successfully using v18 ultimate. Any ideas? Have I not set something correctly? Thanks. Marmot

I'm trying to import two files into my project and unfortunately it won't let me. A pop up appears and says "Could not import file. Quick Time Player is required to import this file. (8) ... what does that mean and how do I fix that ?
Fantastic video, but I will like to ask if you can somehow get rid of noise in the video(I mean video noise not sound noise)? Can you do it with Pinnacle Studio or is there some kind of plugin? Because I don't have perfect lighting and I'm shooting with budget action camera so I can not change ISO. Thanks ;)
With PS21 Ultimate you have the built in feature and NewBlueFX Video Essentials II Noise Reducer. I also have the plugin NeatVideo, basically the industry standard for noise reduction. But it comes at an additional cost.

These products do work up to a point. But they are computer hardware intensive putting a lot of demands on your computer. And it takes time.

Why dont GoPro Hero4 files (in MP4) play properly? Supposedly Pinnacle Studio 21.5 is compatible with MP4. I can import and view the thumbnails, but when I try to preview the video or view in the timeline, I can only hear audio and the video is frozen.

I'm not sure how PS19 handles linking, or if it even has the capability. I've resorted to opening Explorer and copying files into my work to speed up the import function. Its too slow if done from within PS.
Can i open a movie projekt that im working on in another movie projekt. Or do i need to export the projekt to a movie and af the movie to my project file?

I have just purchased Studio 20 Ultimate, having bee using Studio 18 Ultimate. My question is, how do I import my previous project , a part finished movie?
What if all videos are in separate folders, can we import all subfolder videos?
I just bought Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 21 because I hoped a way and device could be found to capture and import original VHS tape analog stuff. Sadly, this does not work with 21. Windows 10 seems to also mess things up. The 21 manual says to use Pinnacle capture devices 500, 700 and DVC 100. I can find no Win 10 drivers from Pinnacle (Dazzle) for those devices. They cannot just be connected to your computer without a driver of program to allow capture to happen. It appears VHS tape stuff is no longer able to be captured/imported. Diamond DVC 500 only works sporatically with small crips while Pinnacle (Dazzle) and its devices really don't work at all. Pinnacle has does amazing things, but not with original analog data.
I have a Dazzle DVC100 and it is recognized and works with PS19; have not tried with PSU21 because my new camera is digital. But the import function of PSU21 "sees" the Dazzle Video Capture. for $69 @ BestBuy, you can try it. If it doesn't work - take it back.
How many slides may you put on a time line? And may you have more than one time line to continue the same movie or slide show. I seemed to have stopped and it will not allow me to add more slides.

Hi. after editing a long video in clips of 10 minutes each and saved in "Save Movie As", my plan was to re-import the clips back to pinnacle studio and still be able to put all the clips together, and, possibly, change a few things. After all that work, I wasn't able to to that. Once I imported clip 1 and went to import clip 2, clip 1 was replaced by clip 2! Can you please help me solve this issue? Thanks. Tony.
I'm using Pinnacle Studio 23 Ultimate. And When I try to import something, I hit 'import' and then 'my computer'. But as soon as I hit 'my computer', the whole Pinnacle program disappears. So I have to start the program again. How do I fix this problem?
it was the ignore duplicates option.. it would deselect videos that are not duplicate at all. glad i found this video! it was something you said about that option. it just clicked. seems to have fixed my issue. thanks.

Is there any way to import "music" off a homemade CD?
I have problem importing avi videos into pinnacle studio 20 ultimate 64 bit version (my OS is windows 10 64 bit)
mp4 forms are playing well so it have to be something with the avi or the codecs
the avi videos are playing on video players well so...it's something with the pinnacle and more specific something with pinnacle's codecs (i used fraps to capture my footage in avi)
any help?

Does Studio 21 import Galaxy S8+ MP4 files? I read numerous posts that earlier versions required conversion software to work in this program. I really don't want to mess with this if I don't have to.
I have a question i edited a photo from photoshop and it was animated. I am doing a project in pinnacle studio 18 and it wont allow me to import the animated picture over. When i do import it over it imports it as a still photo. I need a little help. I cant find any video or pinacle studio help in order to do so.

I'm converting old family VHS to digital format. Dazzle seems to have much more than I expected!
My issue is file size, when importing!! Dazzle imports them in avi format, which is around 15GB for each hour of video!
How do I import them in much smaller file size, without loosing to much quality???
Bit of a nightmare I'm afraid! You need to import the video using dazzle set on MPEG 720 x 576 for PAL UK users, then place the video footage on the timeline for editing. Next EXPORT video to Format H264/AVC and set your size to custom 720 x 576 for 4:3 Ratio footage. Click start export and walk away it may take overnight to do! Hope that helps.
Maliek... can you still buy Pinnacle Studio 19.. ?? ..a friend is new to the gopro and would like to start editing eventually.. I've been editing for a while now and recently got PS 21 ultimate... im still learning all the new different ways of the effects and so on...im thinkin maybe he should start with 19.. no?
I don't think so, you would need to check on the Pinnacle website to be sure.
Why would you want to start with 19 and not directly with 21.5? I too am new at editing GoPro videos. I have a ton of footage, but have never edited any until now. I already purchased PS21

I am not using the camera much these days. I am using crazy talk 8 and other animation programs so most of my videos are made from those types of programs. I made my last video from phone apps mostly.

Hi, I'm still using Pinnacle Studio 18, and I have a few questions for you. When I'm editing my videos, at the end of my last editing video I keep on seeing glimpse of earlier left over videos I had deleted during the same process. Do you know how I can clean this up? It's annoying seeing it at the end of every clip I just edited. Another question, how do you take out the original audio and sound from the video you're editing and replace it with your own music? Please, I would really appreciate your feedback on this matter. I have been working on a project, and if Pinnacle doesn't give me the best result I will have go ahead and get me the Adobe Premier Pro editing software. What say you?

I'm not concerned about you switching to a different editor. I do not work for Pinnacle. If you feel that a different editor might work best for you Adobe Premiere Pro is an excellent option.
If you are seeing left over frames you are not deleting the entire clip. If you are splitting clips before deleting them make sure you are not missing any frames.
You can mute a timeline track using the info on the left of the track. Also, you can right click a clip, detach the audio, and then delete it. Once you have muted or deleted the audio you simply add the music to any track you'd like.

I do not think it is a good think to link files to pinnacle due to it holds them and slows my computer down. I had to remove pinnacle 16 from my computer because it found all 5000 pictures I had.and would not let my computer shut down properly. I have been trying to do some kind of organization but what I find best is to only pul what I need when I need it.
I'm looking for help with importing from DV camcorder via 1394 firewire. Neither the Pinnacle forum no Microsoft Windows community seems to have any answers that work. I'm using Windows 10 64bit. In the device manager I can see the DV camera listed by under imaging devices. But the start capture button is greyed out in Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate. I've done all the things I could find update driver install Direct X end user runtime, etc I no longer use these SD cameras but I have dozens of tapes I want to capture before I get rid of them
OK you know how when you call the IT dept and they ask is it turned on? and you get pissed that they think you're so stupid, then they say did you try rebooting it? and you are like uhhh no. Well I did reboot and then it worked.
