I think that once people understand keyframing, it will open up a lot of editing possibilities! Great video showing "how" keyframe works! Takes the mystery out of it!
Hey Maliek. This comes at just the right time. I want to close a ride video and will pull a picture of the ride leader to the center of the screen surrounded by the closing title. So nice to have a guy in the warms sunshine help us folks up north in snow.
Love your videos. I don't even bother trying to figure things out anymore, I just go to your videos! I'm new to Pinnacle and using 21 but pretty much all your videos help.
Maliek, thanks for this tutorial as it opens up so many creative ideas for my videos. I'm still on 19 and while it doesn't have a PIP button, the effect can still be accomplished (I think) manually. I had not considered the track over track to allow for the PIP. I usually run 2, sometimes 3 cameras while fishing and this PIP idea will work perfect for showing alternate angles at the same time. MANY thanks.
Maliek, the PIP can definitely be accomplished in PS19 but it is a manual operation. Because of your tutorial, I incorporated the effect into the video being published this evening. Thanks again!
Wow - even though I think I know how to do something I watch your tutorial and learn something new (like clicking on "Horizontal" etc. to get it to go to original)! Thanks Sir...
Great stuff...one question. In those last four seconds, let's say you wanted to speed up that movement from the upper right corner to full frame, could you speed it up and could you also use a transition (or two transitions) to do the same thing?
You could speed it up by making the keyframes close to one another. If the transitions exist you could do it with them as well. I'm not aware of any transitions that resize the visible area.
Hi Malick. Thanks for all the instructive information. You've been a real help. I have a question. I have Studio 19.5. When I edit video that is 1080i and I render or export it at MP4 1080i and then media stream these files to my 55 inch Sony Hi Def TV, all is well. But when I edit those same 1080i video files along with other non Hi Def MP4 videos files (and still export it all as MP4 1080i), the non Hi Def files are just fine, but the original 1080i files are now shrunken or smaller - meaning they no longer fill the screen. Any ideas ?
I just don't understand how to move one of the dots. I thought you should just be able to click on it and drag the dot over but when I click on the dot it either disappears or just moves way far away somewhere. I just want to be able to slightly adjust the dots after I already place them. How?
The trouble is, I rarely know how many seconds I want each section to be in advance. If I try to make changes, things get all messed up. As helpful as these tutorial instructions can be for a true beginner, I wish you would cover a bit more than the absolute basics, since usually our projects get "messier" than your perfectly planned demonstrations. But every bit helps, and I appreciate whatever I can get.
Hi, I am just starting to edit a series of videos that people will be sending me. First thing I do is just watch the video when I get it. Is there any way to mark a location on the video as it plays, so I can come back and fix it later?
Hiya Maliek, is there a way in Pinnacle Studio19Ultimate where you can reverse the film that you have recorded, so the actual start is at the end! Like with flying a drone you fly to the subject and fly backwards to yourself so to speak and when in Pinnacle it looks like you’re flying to wards the subject ? Would be greatfull if you could explain! Keep up the good work out there!
Enjoyed your Keyframe Tutorial. I found that any Keyframes put on a JPG picture clip used to Pan and Zoom will move on the timeline if the clip’s size is changed. Ex. Keyframes added at 5 and 10 seconds on a 20 second clip, will move to 10 and 20 seconds if the clip is increased to 20 seconds. Could you maybe make a video on adding keyframes along the timeline and how to keep them from moving on the timeline if the clip’s size changes? Thanks…
If you change the duration of a clip the keyframe will adjust in order to stay at the same position on the clip. EX. If you have a 5 second clip and you place the keyframe on the end of the clip and you adjust the duration to 10 seconds the keyframe will remain on the end of the clip (10 seconds). This is how it is supposed to work.
Does Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 21 have a feature similar to Pro-dad Hieroglyphics where you can make a line animation that can be used on a maps to illustrate movement?
No, but depending on whether the line is close to horizontal or not you can use a photo editor to achieve the effect. ruclips.net/video/zb4eeLT9c8w/видео.html
I have been using Pinnacle since Version 9 I love your tutorials ..but have a question for you . I have used many other editing systems and I do not believe ANY of the other systems I have used require the long waiting period for the video to PRE RENDER...why is it that other systems you can begin rditing your video the moment you drop it on the timeline ?? But Pinnacle cannot? ..I understand that you can adjust it in settings not to background render...however when working with large files thats not wise either....
I can't speak to how or why Pinnacle decides to build their application a specific way. I don't work for them or have any insights into their decision making process.
How do I get my lens flare to open with the start of the clip and run through the 16 minutes of the clip? I keep doing something incorrectly with the keyframe.
Please post this issue in a new thread on the Pinnacle Studio forum. forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums Include the info on the lens flare (clip info, effect, plugin, etc.), the steps you are taking, a screen shot of your editor keyframes, and what you have already tried to do to address the issue. forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums
You know what I miss is sound key framing on the time lime. Sometime I just what to lower the some within the video. I do not with any other sound time lines.
Move the playhead to the position you want, then left click on the PIP image. if that doesn't work, add the keyframe manually and type in the parameters you want.
I've been searching the net for weeks and can't figure it out. HOW DO YOU MOVE A KEYFRAME? Anyone? When I click on one, the dot disappears and I have no idea why. I just want to move a keyframe.
I would not do a tutorial on a broad subject such as that. Every video/music video that you edit is done in a different way. It can be based on what your theme is, the song, how you shot the video, what look you are trying to achieve, the story you are trying to tell, etc. etc. etc.
You made excellent tutorials. However with keyframes one must remember their fifth & six grade arithmetic like 360 degrees in a circle & positive & negative numbers. Otherwise, you are in trouble.
I use Pinnacle 17 for all my special effects and key frames for most complicated zooms and the built in effect zoom for the smoother high pass options.
I think that once people understand keyframing, it will open up a lot of editing possibilities! Great video showing "how" keyframe works! Takes the mystery out of it!
Thanks Tony P! Keyframes make so many things possible. I love them. LOL!
@Maria Strotz no one cares...
5 years late but sweet jesus I didnt even know keyframes were a thing and the ability to move shit on the screen is such a great thing. Thank You!

I'm always willing to help my neighbors to the north. Have a great weekend.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad my videos are helping you.
Amen, me too.
Another awesome tutorial. This will help many get up to speed on using the new keyframe interface quickly. Thank you again!
You know how I do @John Major. Thanks for watching! 😃
Like it Mailek
I’m still using 19 Ultimate but enjoy watching your Tutorials! 👍
You are my go to guru thanks for a clear and concise video clip
Maliek, thanks for this tutorial. Brilliant
You're welcome. Glad you liked it.
Great!!! Opens up a new avenue of editing. Keep up the great work.
Anytime. Thanks for watching.

You're welcome. This is a great way to show multiple angles to your viewers.
Maliek, the PIP can definitely be accomplished in PS19 but it is a manual operation. Because of your tutorial, I incorporated the effect into the video being published this evening. Thanks again!
You're welcome and thanks for the update. Glad you got it to work.
Maliek, thanks mate. You made excellent tutorials. It realy helps me a lot.
Wow - even though I think I know how to do something I watch your tutorial and learn something new (like clicking on "Horizontal" etc. to get it to go to original)! Thanks Sir...
Happy I could give you some new tips to speed up your workflow.
Thanks Sir ! Great Video !!
Thanks Maliek, will check it out,👍
👍🏾
You're the best; man,!!
Nice, I did this awhile ago but not as smooth as you. I had mine actually do a loop in the middle. But I like how you have made the precise movements.
Thanks @Kathy! Have a great weekend.
Been using version 18. It may finally be time to go for the upgrade.
No time like the present. Good luck.

I hope to use keyframes for effects like lightening.

I no longer have PS 19 but if I remember correctly you go to Speed > Add > Video > Reverse

How do you set up your monitors for attachment to see on them can you do 3 or 4 that way you can see everything that you're using to edit?
i am trying to make a static lens flare in Pinn 21. They only give movement options. Is there a way to make it static?
How do I make the PIP video circular instead of rectangular?
Thank you so much. Regards.
You're welcome. Have a great weekend.

Why do I only get one frame of a video and not the whole video when loading it onto Pinnacle
You know what I miss is sound key framing on the time lime.

+William Strange, you can do that....
Thanks
Silly question I guess, is how to delete a keyframe if you have accidentally created one that you dont need anymore
Can you apply chroma key effects to an entire timeline of photos (hot in front of the same green screen) at the same time?
No, you can apply it to one and then copy and paste to the rest. Watch my copy and paste tutorial to see how to copy and paste effects.
how to edit in reels in Pinnacle studio 21
how exactly do yo duplicate again? im clicking on the image and left clicking but no keyframes duplicate

I wish to learn to use keyframes to add len flares to my videos.
