My brother in law is from Bulgaria so I thought it would be fun to buy some yarn from there to make him a gift. I so love to see the fun different kinds of yarn!
Also, Pleta (with "e" pronounced as in Feta cheese) means knitting. And in Bulgaria we say knitting for both knitting and crocheting, we just specify is it with hook or knitting needles 😄
Wow- hubby knew that yarn was 3 weight and throwing out the “ ombré” … I’m impressed! She is lucky to have a hubby that shares in her passion and doesn’t stifle her. My husband is the same way with my passion for yarn. He never complains that I’m spending too much on yarn. He has even accompanied me to a couple yarn cons before the pandemic. I’m so lucky! Loving all the yarn too. I’m going to have to check out that yarn company!

Hi, Crystal. I'm not sure but I think what you have around your neck is called a "Sock Blank." They are machine-knitted strips that are dyed to produce long gradual color changes. They are made to unravel and create a project, and that is why it does not look finished on the end.

Wow! The yarn is gorgeous. The wrap they actually sent is called a "shawl blank" which is used to crochet or knit up in your own pattern. Much like "sock blanks." It is beautiful and I am truly in love with the cotton star an cotton cakes. Crystal and Mr. Bod, you guys are great together!

That yellow/orange gradient yarn that you are wearing like a shawl is a sock blank. It's knitted up in that fashion in order to dye the yarn. It is NOT bound off. You can either cake it or you can knit or crochet with it in the blank form. Have fun with it! The yarn is beautiful!

I have ordered from Ice Yarns and the shipping is about the same. Having to pay shipping on these super nice and super inexpensive yarns is still less than buying regular price in stores! I was just wanting some nice Ombre cottons, I have 4 selections in my cart!!! Can't wait
It always amazes me, how many people complain about the shipping with Ice Yarns. If you're paying attention, it is often if not always cheaper to buy from Ice rather than a store, unless of course you're only getting a skein at a time. People should consider getting together with a group of friends or other crafters that they trust and make orders with Ice and other foreign firms that it is best to buy in quantity from. I know, dangling participle... I'm a barbarian! I haven't ordered from Pleta or Vilrita yet, but I need to work my way through some of what I've bought recently from Ice and Hobbii.

Wow! The yarn is gorgeous. The wrap they actually sent is called a "shawl blank" which is used to crochet or knit up in your own pattern. Much like "sock blanks." It is beautiful and I am truly in love with the cotton star an cotton cakes. Crystal and Mr. Bod, you guys are great together!

That yellow/orange gradient yarn that you are wearing like a shawl is a sock blank. It's knitted up in that fashion in order to dye the yarn. It is NOT bound off. You can either cake it or you can knit or crochet with it in the blank form. Have fun with it! The yarn is beautiful!
That was one of the cotton cakes, think they did that to demonstrate how it works up. Think leaving it like a scarf would be nice.
If it were not bound off it would unravel.

I have ordered from Ice Yarns and the shipping is about the same. Having to pay shipping on these super nice and super inexpensive yarns is still less than buying regular price in stores! I was just wanting some nice Ombre cottons, I have 4 selections in my cart!!! Can't wait
It always amazes me, how many people complain about the shipping with Ice Yarns.
If you're paying attention, it is often if not always cheaper to buy from Ice rather than a store, unless of course you're only getting a skein at a time.
People should consider getting together with a group of friends or other crafters that they trust and make orders with Ice and other foreign firms that it is best to buy in quantity from.
I know, dangling participle... I'm a barbarian!
I haven't ordered from Pleta or Vilrita yet, but I need to work my way through some of what I've bought recently from Ice and Hobbii.
