Hey Joe! I've been out on my 84 (16) 12 times (total). I was hooked after watching your videos. The first 9 times were great except the rigging and unrigging for trailering. I've been leaving it on a local beach for the last few outings but am becoming discouraged with the effort required to haul the boat up an incline 100' through deep, loose sand. I made a set of beach wheels with cradles and 15" wheels that made the effort more difficult than dragging the boat without them. I put a set of 24" dock wheels on that ,greatly, reduced the effort but if I'm alone I wind up catching my breath every 15' or so. Your knowledge of every aspect of catamaran life is vastly more than most of the people, I've seen; so I thought you might be able to tell me of a less strenuous method or maybe that I need to saddle up and get it done, or just elicit some help. Thanks for all that your channel has given to making people aware of a life off the couch and on the water.

The only advice that I can give on the topic of getting her out of the water is to go diagonally up the beach - makes the slop much less.
Other than that - recruit helpers - I find that people are generally willing when asked.

Thanks Joe. Beachgoers have helped me a couple of times (makes my view of my fellow man improve substantially). Tough to get motivated to go solo though. Thanks again for responding. Your following is well deserved. 👍

Thanks Joe for all the work you put into making these videos! Your efforts make sailing safer and more enjoyable for all of us Joyriders. I hope someday you find yourself in the colonies so that I have opportunity to thank you properly!

you reminded me, with the mast, I always store it groove down to keep leaves from trees getting into it. would that be a bad idea for any reason?

I don't think so - off the ground would be ideal.

It is difficult to step the mast by yourself. Great video. Goo tips and tricks.” Your dolly has a nice frame. Bet that makes it easier to use.

Yes, solo mast stepping is quite tricky unless it's a very small mast.

@@JoyriderTV I use a technique you showed in a video of clipping a small block to the ends of bridle and forestay, then running a line temporarily attached to the end of forestay through the block to the base of mast where it can be reached. Using the knees, lift the mast and walk it forward seating it in the base. Once upright, grab the temporary forestay line that is run through small block to the mast and pull tight. This holds the mast up until you hop down to the front and connect the forestay properly. Remove temp line and Bob's your uncle! I'm 63 yrs. young and it works simply and safely for me as all my sailing is solo on H16.
