Yesterday night suddenly i’ve started to think about her again and then i saw your new uploads, your music sounds like a love medicine 🙏🏻 thank you Ólafur
This song, this song in particular, has been an achor point for me during times of stress and uncertainty. It's a companion and I feel like I 'get' the message it sends. Thanks, Ólafur.
Great to read your comment. I too have found it to be an anchor. Sometimes I just listen to it over and over for a long time. It feels new yet comfortably familiar every time I hear it.
Ólafur I cannot tell how greatly your composing and play improved the past years. I'd first seen you in Erlangen in 2010 and it was a remarkably brilliant concert, but seeing and hearing what you're capable nowadays is just topping everything! I am really grateful for living in the same timline as you do :)
would love to know it too. I guess its a modern piano made at some point in the last 40 or 50 years but I can't find it in the internet. it looks a bit like DDR design but it thing its just the Scandinavian style of a piano. let me know if u will find it please!
@@mannaffolki okay no Problem ;) ... I can definitely say that its a pianette not a typical piano. the resonance body is much smaler. but as I said I don't know the manufacturer. Could be that ist from Hornung Moller (With an Scandinavian "o").
Imagining the Camera-Train running through the railroad tracks, in blue-red-orange; a multitude of colors, of hands extending from the windows, of smiles, of cultures, a multitude of worlds for You, for Me... Thank you.

For years now I want to know what kind of piano this is :) Does someone know ? (excuse my very bad english). Thanks Olafur for the moment, this music and those colors.
@@Rubylove48 Incredible :O How can I missed this ! I'm not sure but I think Agnès Obel uses the same instrument :) A "pianette", lovely, thank you very much :)
From how much i know this is called the Felt Upright Piano, and specific thing about them is that in between the hammers and the strings is a thin but long piece of felt (which is mostly the textile material) that is used to dampen the sound of the hammers hitting the strings which creates the 'old' or muffled sound to it. And if you get someone like Olafur to play it, that sound like magic.
I could be listening to this song hours and hours. I can't put into words the feeling, the peace of mind that I feel listening to it. Thank you so much.
Totalmente increíble, me encanta la suavidad de la melodía, me envuelve y transporta a un lugar donde la contaminación de este mundo aun no lo ha corrompido. 😌

Why do I think that the cold is our ether? Tranquility is our staff and peace is our redemption after leaving the crude and primitive nature of our being.
Absolutely lovely. But just can't help imagining the squeaking from the keys is a wonky wheel on the 'train' that needs a drop of oil :) Beautiful piece, though
This is so simple yet so beautiful and soulful. Does anybody have an idea how he manages to make the piano sound so subtle and soft? I do not see additional felt there...
I've been listening to your music for many years know. Back then I was a teenager, deeply affected by depression and suicidal ideation. But now having grown up I just wanted to thank you for sharing your musical gift with us and making this world a somewhat better place. I very much appreciate your talent and wish you every blessing God can give you. You are one of the sources of inspiration when I first started to learn playing piano. Thank you,
It’s an Andreas Christensen pianette. He was a Danish piano builder who built a lot of these in the 50s and 60s. They’re wonderful instruments but very affordable. If you ever visit Denmark you can probably get a used one for a few hundred dollar 😊 There’s a reason we’ve been called the happiest people in the world, you know 😉
@@HauschildAndreas Thanks very much! I also asked around on the Ólafur Arnalds discord and got some interesting info. I found a vintage Scandinavian furniture store in Portugal that's selling one of these, but no idea what condition it's in. Plus, I'd imagine it would be nowhere near "a few hundred dollars", that's insane! Guess I gotta visit sometime... Great sounding pianette in your videos as well, by the way!
@@fjrsm Great to hear that you found out more about it! Logistically it would probably be easiest to find one close-ish to where you live :) And if you visit transporting it back home could probably more than make up for what is saved in buying expenses? I don't know what they cost outside of Denmark so perhaps it could still be worth it? And thank you so much! It's actually an Andreas Christensen too but a different model. It used to belong to my grandmother and I got it from her. I was so surprised (and stoked! :D) when I later on learned than Ólafur uses a piano by the same builder!
