중년 가장 아재입니다. 피곤에 지쳐 가족들 차에 태우고 가다가 이노래를 라디오에서 우연히 듣고 마지막가사에서 부끄럽게도 운전대잡고 서럽게 한동안 울어버렸습니다. 너무 가물가물해서 잡히지도 않는... 인생에서 가장 빛날수있었던 시간들... 이젠 시간도 없고 채력도 없고 오랬동안 함께 해왔던 모든것들이 사람들이 점점 어딘가 고장나가고 멀어져가고 사라져가고... 한동안 우울증을 겪얶지만 가족들의 격려와 배려로 마음 다잡고 이겨냈습니다. 가족들과 함께 다시 꿈을 만들겁니다. 내 아이들은 꿈을 놓치지 않게 할겁니다.

At first I thought it was just another great song from Epik High with a sad title and a cool beat, but reading the captions now, I only realize how hard every word hits me. When I was young I used to dream I would be a writer with worlds in the palm of her hand, but now, I can't even write to save my life. I've forgotten how the words should sound when I string them together, how they should feel. I can only think of trying to finish my studies so I can work as soon as possible to help my family but other than that, I'm lost. Even the bare thought of pursuing my dream scares me now. I wake up, go to class, go home, stare blankly at the work in front of me, struggle to sleep every single night, and before I know it, years have passed. I keep trying to find my way back to the kid who wrote endlessly on every blank page she could find, but it feels like that was a different person back then, and now I'm just a ghost of a person trying to survive. Sometimes I wish I just had normal dreams like most people, so I wouldn't feel as empty as I do now, like there's a part of me missing that I cannot name. This song made me realize how bleak it is, trying to find yourself. Sometimes, I wish I could breathe without feeling like I'm going to choke on the promises I have to keep. Sometimes, I just wish someone would offer me a ride home, no matter how far away it is.

이 노래가 처음 나온 2017년 10월, 나는 신입이었다. 퇴근길 버스안에서 들으면서 참 많은 위로를 받았었다. 그때 귀에 박혔던건 보컬 오혁이 부르는 '젖은 어깨엔 오늘의 무게, 잠시 내려놓고싶어'였다. 그로부터 5년이 지난 지금, 너무도 가고 싶었던 이직 최종 문턱에서 고배를 마시고 불현듯 이 노래를 찾고 또 펑펑 울었다. 이번엔 타블로와 미쓰라가 뱉는 가사 하나하나가 뼈에 사무치듯 슬펐다. '이 넓은 세상에 내 자린 없나' '계산적인 세상이 들이미는 손 잡긴 싫지만 빈손되는게 더 겁이 나'. 5년 후에도 내가 이 일을 계속 하고 있을지는 알 수 없지만 그때도 이 노래는 내게 위로가 되어주리라.
When I look at Epik High, I see artists who are at the top of their game, and one of the few hiphop groups out there that are still delivering to us audience the essence of hiphop. And often times they blend it with other genres to make it much more engaging, and I have always been a fan of this approach.
I was going to switch the song when RUclips used AutoPlay and redirected me here. I caught myself reading the lyrics, and stuck a bit longer. Then I wanted to see what they were trying to say here. For every sentence that resonated with me, I stuck to the video a bit longer. I've seen it a few times now. It's not a peppy song, it's relaxed and the lyrics are melancholy. But it strikes a chord in me. The feeling of disillusionment, of frustration, of the hopelessness. This song is about someone laying out their fears and hoping that they can find solace in someone. That they are able to find some way to set aside their worries for a while. I want that too. Having all of my jumbled emotions laid out in a song like this...I'm moved.

Woah, I felt this on a spiritual level. I felt the same way when I heard this song. Been on my playlist ever since it was released. Still doing it's great job at consoling me during tough days (that is, university, in my case). You should try listening to their album "Sleepless in _____". Personally it's a lullaby to me. I listen to it to help me sleep at night when I can't and it works like magic!
Epik High really helped me when I was going through a hard time in my life. They’re music was like therapy and I can’t thank them enough. This album has been on repeat since it came out.

My Muse me too... I know I still have a long way to go in my life. The expectation that I put on myself give birth to hurts, laziness and yearns for easier path, but the coma which entangle with number and calculations ask me to keep my step on despite that I've lost the will to thrive. 에픽하이 노래는 진짜 집밥같다. 이하이와 에픽하이가 같이 불렀던 그 노래를 들으며 정말 외롭던 겨울을, 누군가는 나를 위로할 사람도 어딘가 있겠지 하면서 교복을 추스리며 견뎠는데. 어느세 새로운 노래가 정말 마음 한톨 기댈 대 없는 상황을 귓속에다 그려주고 있다. 근데 정말 놀라운건, 몇 년 전의 그 곡와 이 노래 그 두곡의 느낌이 너무나 똑같다. 이 노래 처음 듣고 들을수록 새록운데 너무나 익숙한 감상을 선사해준다. 마치 지금 다시 학생이 되어 그 시간을 지내는 것처럼. 정말 돌아가고 싶던 그 책상 한켠이 다시 내 팔꿈치를 받치고 있는것 같다.

At first I thought it was just another great song from Epik High with a sad title and a cool beat, but reading the captions now, I only realize how hard every word hits me. When I was young I used to dream I would be a writer with worlds in the palm of her hand, but now, I can't even write to save my life. I've forgotten how the words should sound when I string them together, how they should feel. I can only think of trying to finish my studies so I can work as soon as possible to help my family but other than that, I'm lost. Even the bare thought of pursuing my dream scares me now. I wake up, go to class, go home, stare blankly at the work in front of me, struggle to sleep every single night, and before I know it, years have passed. I keep trying to find my way back to the kid who wrote endlessly on every blank page she could find, but it feels like that was a different person back then, and now I'm just a ghost of a person trying to survive. Sometimes I wish I just had normal dreams like most people, so I wouldn't feel as empty as I do now, like there's a part of me missing that I cannot name. This song made me realize how bleak it is, trying to find yourself. Sometimes, I wish I could breathe without feeling like I'm going to choke on the promises I have to keep. Sometimes, I just wish someone would offer me a ride home, no matter how far away it is.

이 노래가 처음 나온 2017년 10월, 나는 신입이었다. 퇴근길 버스안에서 들으면서 참 많은 위로를 받았었다. 그때 귀에 박혔던건 보컬 오혁이 부르는 '젖은 어깨엔 오늘의 무게, 잠시 내려놓고싶어'였다. 그로부터 5년이 지난 지금, 너무도 가고 싶었던 이직 최종 문턱에서 고배를 마시고 불현듯 이 노래를 찾고 또 펑펑 울었다. 이번엔 타블로와 미쓰라가 뱉는 가사 하나하나가 뼈에 사무치듯 슬펐다. '이 넓은 세상에 내 자린 없나' '계산적인 세상이 들이미는 손 잡긴 싫지만 빈손되는게 더 겁이 나'. 5년 후에도 내가 이 일을 계속 하고 있을지는 알 수 없지만 그때도 이 노래는 내게 위로가 되어주리라.

When I look at Epik High, I see artists who are at the top of their game, and one of the few hiphop groups out there that are still delivering to us audience the essence of hiphop. And often times they blend it with other genres to make it much more engaging, and I have always been a fan of this approach.

I was going to switch the song when RUclips used AutoPlay and redirected me here. I caught myself reading the lyrics, and stuck a bit longer. Then I wanted to see what they were trying to say here. For every sentence that resonated with me, I stuck to the video a bit longer. I've seen it a few times now. It's not a peppy song, it's relaxed and the lyrics are melancholy. But it strikes a chord in me. The feeling of disillusionment, of frustration, of the hopelessness. This song is about someone laying out their fears and hoping that they can find solace in someone. That they are able to find some way to set aside their worries for a while. I want that too. Having all of my jumbled emotions laid out in a song like this...I'm moved.
Epik High has a lot of songs with that dynamic! Please listen (and read) to others too! I think you won't be disappointed :'D

this brought me to tears cause i’m studying in college and sometimes it becomes too overbearing and i just wanna run and go back home but it’s far from my university.... i’ve been feeling anxious with my grades lately cause it feels like i won’t make it to the cut off, i don’t have anyone to cry on and no one to tell my problems i just carry all my burdens without complaining and i’ve become too numb to even cry sometimes i feel like i’m not a human anymore cause i seriously want to cry all my frustrations but i can’t bring myself to do that then i heard this song on spotify and it already brought me to tears when the singer said “home is faraway” i felt so homesick and all the feelings rushed in... thank you EPIK HIGH for comforting me with this song... thank you tablo for the deep lyrics it’s really comforting at times like this and I also started listening to your podcast cause it helps me relieve stress....

Woah, I felt this on a spiritual level. I felt the same way when I heard this song. Been on my playlist ever since it was released. Still doing it's great job at consoling me during tough days (that is, university, in my case).
You should try listening to their album "Sleepless in _____". Personally it's a lullaby to me. I listen to it to help me sleep at night when I can't and it works like magic!

에픽하이 노래는 진짜 집밥같다.
이하이와 에픽하이가 같이 불렀던 그 노래를 들으며 정말 외롭던 겨울을, 누군가는 나를 위로할 사람도 어딘가 있겠지 하면서 교복을 추스리며 견뎠는데. 어느세 새로운 노래가 정말 마음 한톨 기댈 대 없는 상황을 귓속에다 그려주고 있다.
근데 정말 놀라운건, 몇 년 전의 그 곡와 이 노래 그 두곡의 느낌이 너무나 똑같다.
이 노래 처음 듣고 들을수록 새록운데 너무나 익숙한 감상을 선사해준다. 마치 지금 다시 학생이 되어 그 시간을 지내는 것처럼. 정말 돌아가고 싶던 그 책상 한켠이 다시 내 팔꿈치를 받치고 있는것 같다.
