Hi Jonghyun. I came to hear you again. Do you remember me? We went to the same middle school for 1 year, then I moved to the United States in 2004, and I thought I'd never hear from you again. Time passed, I forgot you, you forgot me, blah blah blah. 13 years passed, to be exact. Then I saw on the news. "Hallyu Star Jonghyun tragically takes his own life". I had forgotten you for over a decade already. But the second I saw you on the news, I knew it was you. Do you remember me? You probably don't anymore. After all, we weren't even that close. But I still remember you clearly. Your bright smile, caring personality, strong will, incredible talent in singing, everything. I especially remember in 2004 when you were performing with your band at the school. Man, that performance touched my heart. We both changed a lot. I'm here in the United States, having buried my wife and parents who died to the pandemic, working 24 hours a day and going on forced diets to feed my 2 beautiful children. I would be lying to say I'm in a good place right now. I can't imagine how you must have felt. When I was attempting to enter my workplace, the interviewer asked me this question: What is your biggest regret in life? At that time, I didn't have one. But it was made clear on that morning of December 18, 2017. Not sending you a word of encouragement: that was and still is my biggest regret.
When I instantly recognized you, I hoped I didn't. I hoped it was a horrible dream and that I would wake up.
I still do.
I've learned that God plays a cruel game, taking away the most beautiful angels to tend to his garden. Jonghyun, thank you for existing in my life, even though it was only one year. Thank you for every word you uttered, every step you walked, every beverage you drank, every stage you took over, every song you composed. Every breath you took, every doubt you conquered.

Since day one, this song became my comfort song for everything. I'm still going through a lot, but a lot more than when this song came out, when I was 23.
Somedays I wish I could just give up, but I have to force myself to breathe through things. Jonghyun left us, alongside Lee Hi, this valuable lesson. He knew. He knew blingers would need this confort. I know I find more confort in this song than in every other song I could ever listen. And even so, I break down in tears every single time I hear it, every single time I remember that performance, where Lee Hi doesn't find strenght to sing it all through, becase of such pain she was at the time.
It's been almost 7 years since he passed, and I'm still struggling a lot. I want to cherish the moments I still have, but sometimes it's just too difficult. This song is here to remind me of it.

i always listen to this song whenever im feeling down but the fact that jonghyun himself wrote this song with all the pain he hold all this time tried so hard to survive alone, telling himself its okay. it must be so hard for him, the fact that he's the one who need someone to comfort him to tell its okay and hug him, its really breaks my heart. After Jonghyun's death, this song became too painful to listen too. I deleted the song in all of my devices because it was too painful to listen too. After almost 2 years since his death, I am now able to listen to this song again. Now instead of remembering the pain, I have now accepted his death and would listen and sing along to this song as a message to Jonghyun as well. You've done well Jonghyunh, rest well.

이 노래가 다시 듣고 싶어 들어오니 3년 전 제 댓글이 보이네요...그땐 정말 부모님 이혼 직전에 저는 쌍꺼풀 부작용으로 너무 힘들던 시기였는데... 정말..... 죽으면...모든 게 편해질까 그런 생각도 잠시나마 했던 시기였는데.... 지금은 너무 좋은 사람을 만나 결혼도 하고 행복하게 잘 살고 있네요....그래도 성형 부작용 때문에.... 남편 옆에서 온전히 함께 기뻐하지 못하고 가끔 쌍꺼풀을 하지 않았으면...하는 후회감이 밀려올 때마다 마음을 다잡으려 노력하는데...이 노래가 참 많은 도움이 됩니다.... 이하이님 목소리도... 이 가사를 전하려던 김종현님의 마음도 .... 정말 저에겐 너무 큰 힘이 됐어요.

We all aware that despite of heavy stuffs we are carrying in our chest we still choose to smile with a fake mask. We can fool others but ourselves? We can't. Behind his smiles and laughters there's deep pain that he have been through. I know it's painful for all of us but atleast he's now free from pain and all of his painful baggage. Fly High Moonbin you already did a good job from being a great brother and child to your group and family.
I feel like Jonghyun wrote this as a letter to himself, and he wrote the things that he needed to hear. At the same time, there were so many more people that also needed these words. Although he wasn’t able to save himself, I know that he saved so many others.

Elli Well i guess one big sign that he is an amazing composer and producer is that his music tends to win alot of shows. Also what you feel when you listen to a song is very important. But there isnt one specific way to say why he is a good composer sorry its hard to explain. I hope you enjoy the music he produces!
