hi Jennifer! I would like to say that your lessons are AWESOME! may I ask you a question? here in this lesson you use rising intonation in WH- questions and I studied that those use a falling intonation. Who's right? thank you =)
The usual pattern in American English is to use falling intonation on WH- questions. However, rising intonation can be used if you need to repeat the WH- question because you didn't hear the answer the first time or if you're surprised by the information and you want to ask for a second time. It's kind of like tag questions. They can rise or fall, depending on whether you're commenting or really asking for confirmation.

Hello Simon. So you're asking about the verbs WANT and NEED. Which other phrase? "What for?" WANT = what you wish to do or have / WANT + noun (I want food.) / WANT + infinitive (I want to rest.) / WANT (someone to do something - - I want you to be quiet.)
