If a President and Governor are able to easily nominate and appoint new Deputies after they have been ousted from office then I see no reason why the two should go into an election as a pair. Let's ammend the constitution and have the Deputy President and Deputy Governors appointed into office as it is the case for Cabinet Secretaries and CECs. This is the only way we can have one distinctive head of a nation or county without unnecessary competition from his/her principal assistant. The current arrangement has proved to be extremely futile.

Let's ammend the constitution and have the Deputy President and Deputy Governors appointed into office as it is the case for Cabinet Secretaries and CECs. This is the only way we can have one distinctive head of a nation or county without unnecessary competition from his/her principal assistant.
The current arrangement has proved to be extremely futile.

Prof, I differ with. you vis-a-vis the removal of guards from Gachagua. Ruto may have been advised by a serious person who wanted to give him rope so that he could easily, quickly and shamefully finish himself.
I dislike it when one compares what happened between Uhuru and Ruto and what is happening between Ruto and Gachagua without making it clear that in both cases, Ruto is the trouble maker.

And she has a young mpango wa kando man who tells her she needs to have control of the wealth. If the old man gets the wind that is it. Ruto was no different to Uhuru as Gachagua has been to him. The difference is Ruto woke up too early Uhuru did too late for Ruto to be impeached, it was late in the last term. After 2.5 years the VP is put in record as VP no matter what.
