Moms packing for a vacation are like a scaled down version of planning a military campaign. Advance Logistics, Procurement Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Asset control, Production Logistics. This is what employers need to think about when they see "Homemaker" or "Stay at Home Mom" on a resume. I will aim for the same level of detail while planning my vacation meals. Awesome video.

This is so similar to how I pack!!! I list meals, make shopping list, pack the smaller items from home. I save soy sauce and condiment packs through the year. I'll portion out spaghetti noodles, pasta, or rice for a meal (in ziploc). I pack spices in small "pill" bags. I've had many people impressed when they see me adding spices to meat/veggies at the grill. I also pack clothespins for chip bags and wooden skewers to make k-bobs. I make a Wal-Mart pick-up order (google closest one to our condo) and sometimes an insta-cart Costco order (depends on how long we're vacationing). My family loves smoothies, so we always get frozen fruit, yogurt, milk for those. I bring sugar, lemonade packets, and some protein powder from home. I've used bacon grease once when I didn't have cooking oil. Night before we leave, I grill extra chicken, steak, and veggies, then cut into bite-sized pieces for a travel meal on the plane. If I have left-over meat that we won't eat there, I freeze it and put into my checked bag for a meal back home.

I was in Navarre 2 years ago and we loved that place! I took a slow cooker and put my food in and went to the beach and when we got back the dinner was ready. It saves a lot of time and doesn’t cut into the fun.

Awesome tips on cutting the grocery bill. Does your family split the cost for the accommodations and the grocery bill?

I do the same things. This year everything went into 2-lg. tubs. We always take too much and bring home more. ugh! Hubby always wants plenty of snacks then ends up not eating them. I'm never hungry because it's always HOT/MUGGY and who wants to eat when you feel like you're melting. I want to vacation in a cold place just once. :D
