    Hard to say Ukraine has won/is winning 'most of the rounds' when 20% of their territory is still occupied. It's more like Russia is leading on points, but has a bad open cut, whereas Ukraine is battered but not bleeding out. Yes, a KO is possible at any time.
    Their latest offensive efforts have been too much loss in equipment and personnel for minimal gains and insufficient losses inflicted on the Russians. However, I suspect that it's part of testing the new equipment and gaining on the job experience. The next time Ukraine takes M2 Bradley and Leopard 2A6s to combat they will have learned their lessons. Part of the problem is lack of familiarity with the Western equipment, revised Russians tactics, renewed Russian reinforcements and of course, the evolving nature of warfare. It's battle of measures, counter-measures, counter-counter-measures, and so on.

    13:15 (Highlighted) I have been making this point since the war started, but where does this idea come from? It comes from the western mainstream media, western politicians, and sometimes NATO military analysts. Certainly here in the UK the message coming from military commentators has almost entirely been of this type. This of course raises the question, well if that is true how come the Russians are still occupying Ukraine? Such narratives are only going to lead people in the west to serial disappointment, in turn leading to disillusionment and finally a lack of belief or confidence in western information sources.

    • @miriamweller812

    With all due respect Colonel, I fear bias has creeped up to a significant level, this seems anachronically out of tune and out of Balance (e.g. Currently, Russians are the heavy users of drones and ATGMs). I am not sure who or how the boxing scorecard is kept. Since start and forever. The problem is, that with all the soviet tanks gone from the Nazi regime and NATO, now western tanks get destroyed, and while the newspaper stills tried to sell those as destroyed Russian tanks, that's a lot more obvious and much easier to counter as a lie.
      All the time before, a majority of losses of the Banderites were simply sold as Russian losses, because same kind of equipment from the outside, leading to the absurd idea, that the Nazis are an army of invincible Terminators and Rambos.
      Question is, why the Nazis cry day in and out all the time, that they need another whole new army, why NATO pumps billion after billion into this burning shithole and how the Banderits haven't won, being invincible with a gigantic and ever growing army plus all the NATO support = pretty much the strongest army on the planet meanwhile by the propaganda, while Russia done for since over a year, where it was the first time all the Nazi bots told us, that Russia curmbles, got no weapons left, has to scavenge its household items for microchips and so on.

But they have caught up with Ukrainian forces in quality and quantity of drone recon and warfare very quickly, and even have an upper hand on many sectors of the frontline. I know it from my friends on the frontline, you can know about it by reading many reviews and concerns from Ukrainian soldiers. Also there's tons of drone video materials from Russian side all over the internet.

    • @johanmetreus1268

      Minefields stretching from horizon to horizon and several kilometres deep, where NATO planning foresaw minefields maybe half a kilometre in length and a few hundred metres deep in the worst case scenario.
      This slows down advancement to a crawl, allowing other assets to strike the advancing units before they make contact. To counter this, the Ukrainians use small units taking a small ground area at a time, which makes for very slow progress but goes steadily without excessive losses which is similar how the last offensive on the Western front was done by the British.

    • @stacymcmahon453
      @stacymcmahon453 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@johanmetreus1268Correct. These are the largest and densest minefields in history, and they are successful in ensuring no massed attack can take place anywhere between Zaporizha and Bakhmut or thereabouts. Unfortunately the most critical areas of the front have been obvious to everyone all along, and Russia built up its defenses early. Of course they also sacked the general who directed that effort, because Russia. But the damage is done, and the bite and hold strategy is the only reasonable way to attack now. Maybe someone in Ukraine or NATO will come up with a way to clear large swaths of ground at a time.

    • @Valhura77

      @@trqster Yes they have to concede to the new reality, they had the option of Ukraine staying Neutral, and keeping the Donbas as part of Ukraine but allowing Russian speakers to have some autonomy and not be persecuted as was outlined in the Minsk Accords, but on the advice of the US and UK the clown in Ukraine choose war, the loss of 20% of the country land, the destruction of 100s of Billions worth of infrastructure, the complete destruction of the Ukrainian economy, ensuring the Ukrainian population will be saddled with huge debts for decades to come and be forced to sell off natural assets to US vulture funds.
      What everyone seems to forget is that Ukraine had the 2nd biggest army in Europe, which since 2014 was trained and supplied by the west. Russia destroyed that army and most of their equipment, the US got a lot of ex communist countries to transfer their large stocks of Soviet tanks and weapons to make up for all the loses, Ukraine mobilized hundreds of thousands of more men, the Russians destroyed those men and equipment provided by ex soviet states. Which brings us to the so called current counter offensive, where the Ukrainian again mobilized 10s of thousands of men, and received Billions and billions worth of Tanks, APC, Artillery and so on which within a couple of weeks of the offensive the Russians had destroyed up to 33% of it.
      Russia was one of the biggest producers of military equipment prior to the war (mainly for export), and they have ramped that up significantly, mean while the west has exhausted their stock piles of ammo, and it might take them years to ramp up production just to what Ukraine needs, if NATO have no ammo for Ukrainians do you think they can support their own troops fighting against the Russians but even if they could Putin has now stated the donbas is Russian territory, NATO troops on Russian territory could be the trigger to start letting the nukes fly, and once they do who will stop them, you?

This isn’t a bunch of damn goat herders cobbling IEDs together in some caves; this is one of the military superpowers with technology that rivals if not surpasses comparable systems of the USA and allies. Even if the ability to manufacture microcircuitry domestically in Russia was compromised by sanctions, people fail to grasp the fact that China can easily provide any such components. The west relies on china along with Japan , Korea, and Taiwan for pretty much all the manufacturing of electronics (and pretty much everything else as well) so the whole claim about Russia being hampered by sanctions in this regard is ridiculous and anyone that actually believed Russia was having to dismantle dishwashers and washing machines probably thinks they need every booster for the Covid vaccine too.
      It’s really sad how stupid so many people in the west have become. The fools sat back and watched the whole covid shitshow unfold as the truth came out about the propaganda, lies, and coverups from the “pandemic” and then they listen to the same liars and scumbags fill them full of bullshit about Ukraine and it’s accepted without question.
