I Hate Getting Asked These Questions

- I get asked a TON of questions on a daily basis through youtube, email, and instagram DMs. I honestly do try to answer as many as I can and/or as many questions that I have the time to answer. However, I've always gotten a few certain questions that I literally just don't like. In this video, you'll find out exactly which questions drive me crazy!

“Don’t ask me questions about how little effort you can put forward in order for something to happen.”
Preach
So good
Wow another 7 days of call?! Road to becoming an attending is a long one but I can’t wait to see you get there.
You know it. Comingnsoon
He’s soo close! Can’t wait til the first week of attending life vlog
*missed the bus* *actually the bus didn’t stop for me* 😂
@@Arlyndonnelly you put the text or words you would like between asterisks * . Also italic text can be put between underscores _ .
Asking a Doctor: “Ohhh just wondering what’s the least amount I can study to become a doctor like you ??? “🤔🤦♀️
When you literally devote your life to medicine and work your butt off to get where you are.
Asking physician salaries doesn't even make sense. Are they community? Academic? Military? Urban? Rural? How many hours do they work? Do they OWN their own procedural suite? etc. etc. etc.
Facts
Also, they can look up the yearly Medscape Physician Compensation Report that has salary details by specialty, to get a general idea.
On the test question: Maybe they took it, did their best, and they want to know whether to retake it?
With all due respect, Doctor Cellini, I think it's awesome people ask your advice on things-I think it means they respect your opinion and they obviously like your channel. I totally understand a lot of these questions were private and a little ridiculous. Thanks for taking the time for make the videos!! Looking forward to your next one
You are so patient and kind putting up with repetitive questions or those lacking quality or integrity. I enjoy your honesty so much. Take care.
Your videos are very inspiring and entertaining!
I love the honesty and savegery!!
Hey Dr. Cellini! What do you think of the trend toward the integrated Diagnostic and Intervention Rads residency? From what you know from being at your DR and now IR program, is it going to get harder to do IR fellowship if you started in DR-only?
Thanks,
An overwhelmed MS1
With respect Dr. Cellini, some who make ask if "X" score in the USMLE is good enough for a radiology residency, may have already taken the test and are concerned if they should even apply. Forgiving their room temperature IQ for the manner in which they may have phrased the question, it might be reasonable to cut them a little slack. A little . . .
That was very well put! I have to agree with you on this. The reality is scores do determine where you reside. Therefore, it makes sense for a person to ask if its worth trying especially with the cost of the process!!
I agree. I think he missed the point on why people ask this...
Asking if X score is good enough to match a residency is a completely different question than what is the lowest score I have to get to match X residency...
I definitely had an up and down mindset with lowering my standards for the mcat. I went into wanting a 516+, then I lowered my standards a lot after I began studying and becoming burnt out with classes and work, I finally decided to postpone it to January because I knew it was important to score well and I shouldn't be satisfied with scoring the bare minimum.
Great video! They should be longer!
Haha deal!
This is great advice!!
Back in the early 90s when I was trying to get into medical school, the question about the lowest score I could get on the MCAT and still get into medical school was pretty relevant, since I kept studying for several years and taking practice tests, as well as two different test prep services with one actually repeated, and I STILL kept getting in the 9-10 range every time I tried out a practice test. It seemed like I had reached my limit with my utmost effort. I would have in no way been asking "how little" I had to do to get in -- I was already maxed out! So the question may not be quite the same for everyone.
love your content!!
Ikr it is amazing
Same! I click on his video immediately
*can you give me any advice*.... jk lol but reading ur comment I had to think back to that lol 😂
Radiology is super anatomy heavy, so having an extremely solid foundation in anatomy would definitely make at least the early part of Radiology residency training a bit easier. But that is what Med school is for lol.
Questions you hate
ED doc: "Hey, got time to read all these scans that I ordered?"
ED docs sending off for X-rays and CTs... radiology asking for some clinical objective.. ED docs: “oh I dunno I haven’t seen the patient yet”
Love your videos!!!
Most medical schools have radiology clubs, just an fyi.
Google it first was for sure the best answer for any question 😂🤣
Hahaha so true. I always stop myself from even asking questions these days like “wait, this is totally googleable”
Yep definitely annoying questions, you're always great and helpful in the comment section anyway!
Genuinely amazed at how people can ask about a minimum effort threshold in regards to not only getting into medical school, but matching into a competitive specialty at that. That is the best way to display ingenuity.
Bwahaha the frustration here! :) Sorry you go through this so much Dr. C!!!!
I still love your videos, maybe you could make a video with doctor Mike in a future video
Spam him 🤣
I understand your views on these questions completely!
Someone definitely asked a question on a previous video that just sent him over the edge.
I have a question/discussion topic request.
In a previous video you mentioned you performed a Kyphoplasty. I worked in Pain Management for a few years and I actually was not aware that this was commonly performed by the Radiologist (until I googled it after your video). It was never brought up.
The Pain Management Physicians I worked for performed Kypho in house under fluroscopy. So your video flooded my mind with many questions. Do you prefer Vertbroplasty vs Kyphoplasty or does it depend on the type of fracture? I have known some physicians that prefer one over the other for various individual reasons. What is the highest level of the spine that you have performed a Kyphoplasty? Do you also perform RFA procedures and spine injections? If/When performing spine injections do you prefer fluoroscopic or Ultrasound guidance (I have also found that this varies between physicians)? If a patient is diagnosed in the ER with a Compression Fracture is the Radiologist performing the Kypho during that visit? After the patient has completed their procedure with the Radiologist, do they follow up with Pain Management, Ortho, PCP?
Thank you for reviewing all of these questions.. I know it is A LOT! I never knew Radiologist worked so closely with pain management procedures.
To a prospective DR applicant applying this cycle, what things would you prioritize in a program when making your rank list?
He actually just made that video earlier today lol. Just telling you in case you haven’t watched it
Did I miss your apartment tour? Would love to see your view of the city.
This questions are so ridiculous 😂
Agreed
Hello, have you or do you perform the "Intracept Procedure" and could you give me some feedback in regards to how patient's did (Pain wise) after the procedure? Thank you.
How do you do research for residency? Do you team up with doctors or is it alone?
I find it curious people ask for advice and aren't direct. I hate indirect people. Good video.
Love your videos! Just your average paramedic fan in Arkansas.
We
😍
Hi Dr Ollie Burton!
I wanted to ask that how long does it take for one to transform from a being a Pharmacist to a Physician specifically ?
It's good to know what you need, but that score is usually only to be considered for the program; it isn't a guarantee. Agree with everything you said, strive for success, and strive for options.
Dr Cellini, I need ADVICE! What is the least I can do to succeed in life?!
Na mate good stuff! Keep it coming!
Watching you ride a bike one handed gave me so much anxiety, I can barely ride two handed!! 😂😂
What size scrubs do you wear for Figs?
Omg it feels like you are on call every week 🙈😅 hang in there 💪🏻💪🏻 you can do it!!!
Where did you get your wedding band ?
The thing you do is the thing i want to do after high school
A few thoughts...
1. I think when your searching for jobs, as you are now or will be soon, it’s useful to ask some of your colleagues what their ballpark salaries are if they are young attendings or what some of the salary offers your co-fellows are getting.
2. You don’t need research to match into IR. Yes it’s helpfully but honestly step score and crushing your IR rotations/getting good LORs from those rotations is the most important.
3. As another comment said, radiology is very anatomy heavy. I took an anatomy class with cadaver lab in college that I learned so much from and retained more from that than my anatomy course in med school.
4. Always study your hardest to do your best on the test. Shoot for that 270 on step 1 (before they switch it to pass/fail)!! That being said, you can match into IR with a step score in the low 240s if the the rest of your application is great, pretty easily if you get a 250+ and you are a normal human being haha
The 1 dislike is the person who is offended you don't like the question they asked 🤣
Facts
You should link this video as a response whenever someone asks one of these questions
Cellini has on his "yall gonna stop asking me this dumb shit TODAY" face
🤣🤣
😂 love this video. Google first and then ask!
That should be life advice haha
Hahaha couldn’t agree more
If I tell you what kind of stent I got (just got it a month ago), could you tell me if it’s magnetic (aka no more MRIs) or will set off a metal detector? 😅 I did google it, and google said “maybe.” My surgeons notes just say “conditional” and I don’t see him for another month to ask, and I’m just curious 🤷🏼♀️
Hi from NC! Where did you do your residency in NC- Duke?
What regulatory body made the decision that interventional cardiologists would perform cardiac catheterization and TAVR, rather than interventional radiologists? IR’s make interventions in the abdomen for AAA repair, as well as peripherally, through vasculature, but I am not aware that they perform these procedures. Is this strictly the case and was this because of lobbying efforts from cardiology?
Hi Dr. Cellini, I like your content. I love watching your videos.
Can you make a video about schooling you went through and also maybe about the roles of other medical professionals in the hospital? I am a nursing student and I want to go on to get my DNP. What is the working relationship between MDs and DNPs? Thank you
A DNP is just a degree. Some are advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) such as nurse practitioners or crna’s. You can also be a regular registered nurse with the doctorate degree (DNP), most of who go into education and they cannot practice medicine like nurse practitioners can.
Nursing and medicine are completely different paths but yes, they do work together in many different settings. Pretty vague question, I doubt he will answer. You should do more research, good luck.
Money shouldn't be private but it has to be because people are users, takers, and competitive. This video was entertaining ty!
I have a question is wearing a mask outside requires?
Depends on your location
Another amazing video! You totally have the right to hate these questions, they're annoying. Also, petition for Dr. Cellini to make collaborations with other doctors on RUclips, we'd love that! Have a nice day!
I disagree with the salary topic - I think that it really helps out the working class (i.e. most of us) when we know what each other's salaries are. I think this is especially true when you and your colleagues can openly discuss your salaries and know what each other are making, then you can ensure that you are not getting ripped off by your employer.
lmaoo i def feel like i've might've asked a question you don't like via IG, but its something not so easily searchable, so i will ask it again:
Does Step-1 scores play a factor when applying to IR Fellowship? Also, if one wants to do an IR fellowship, does it matter if their Intern year is Surgical or Medicine? Like does one look better than the other? I do know there is a separate IR residency route, but i wanted to know this for people who plan to go through the Diagnostic Rad route
Hey Doc, I'm a huge fan, can you give me some advice?
I think the most important question is... Where is the next Radiology Meme Review?
Love you Bro Doc!
😂😂😂 this was good 🇬🇧✌🏼
true true!!
I always look for a doctor who tried as little as possible...said no one ever..
commenting for the algorithm
I agree as most of information are available on internet
You mean to tell me; people don't ask if your a real doctor? LOL. Good video
dr cellini can you make a video of your journey about usmle
As a professor at a major med school (and School of Public Health), I can tell you that I also do not like the same sorts of questions that you do not like, and for the same reasons. Sometimes asking such questions stems from lack of resourcefulness; sometimes, laziness; but sometimes, the extreme anxiety of a competitive situation, and I understand that. -ID Attdg
Could not agree more!
Need some advice on dinner tonight, please thanks
In your opinion, what is the biggest hurdle that Radiology faces in 2020? How do you think this might change in 5-10 years? Thanks in advance!
What's the 'Google search'?
Hi Dr. Cellini. I always love seeing u. I'm no Doctor but asking any one about the salary is rude. Thats personal. If a doctor wants to just volunteer thats different. Your rt googel is here for a reason. All those questions can be googeled. I love u share NYC with us. Yes I can googel it but not the same as in real life its better and the sounds of the street are cool. So thank you! Sorry u have so many 7 days on call. Stay safe and healthy.
Well this one didnt make the list so im going for it.. Why is it so difficult to VLOG procedures? Dont get me wrong its cool knowing other aspects about a resident/fellow life but i would love to see the whole spectrum of IR being posted here in your channel
I really don't know what to study MD or MBBS ?
I guess some people might just be insecure or bad at taking tests but they’re really motivated to do a certain specialty, so that’s why they might be asking with what score they could still get in? Not saying people shouldn’t work hard and aim high! But I guess some people have their reasons to ask it.
Let the church say AMEN!!! Good better best never let it rest until your good is better and your better best.
Is OB/GYN a competitive
If anyone wants to know if their USMLE scores are competitive just google NRMP match statistics that they publish every year.
I just have a few unanswered questions (VERY IMPORTANT)
⬇
⬇
⬇
can you give me advice?
what's the lowest score I can get?
what's the salary of a radiologist?
what classes will prepare me for radiology?
how long is a radiology residency?
Why is blood coming OUT of A syringe? Bad question right ?
Bc it’s being injected forward....
Dr. Cellini you are not! Dr Frankenstein ! 😉
I hate it wen buses don’t stop. I hate general questions. Studying is needed. I go into tests trying to get a good score and think I’ll get a worse score. I’ve been told I put in 110%.
Another great video, but just a side note for your audience and a question for you. I practice employment law and represent large corporations. I’m about to make the jump from law to medicine, so I feel like I can be candid. About 40 years, we (lawyers and large companies) intentionally created systems and cultures that would make people feel uncomfortable asking each other about salaries. If you’re not cool with talking about it, that’s fine. Just know that your discomfort means our tactics work and meant to suppress wages; it’s not rooted in niceties. We still use the practice today, but it’s effectiveness is waning. I’m curious where you learned that salary is private-will you share your thoughts?
Really bro i am a fan of you from saudi arabia who is inspired by you and i am very very interested in radiology, right now i am on my final year on med school after this year i will become an intern, i wish that someday we meet at a conference or something as a healthcare professionals.
Wish me luck ✋🏻
Oh my God, that’s so cool I’m from there too and I’m interested in medicine! 🤝🇸🇦 High five 🤚🏼 P.s. Happy future national day 💚🇸🇦 and best wishes for your career mate go out there and crush it! ✊🏼👨🏽⚕️
@@mays_alpha thank you i wish the same to you and happy national day 👍🏻🤎. High five ✋🏻
But, can you give me some advice? 😂
... But seriously, I had a question: What is another fellow would you have chosen instead of Interventional Radiology?
google what is Dr. Cellini shoe size? what's your shoe size?
Haha..no wonder these are your hated questions😂
P.s need that 😷, my ears are so done..is it for doctors only tho? Bad question? I shall Google🤐
Some hospitals are having their staff use the tye masks now. I like them better my ears are all red by the time a shift ends 😷😀
Best content creator don’t even @me
so how much do you make? ....haha just kidding. thanks for the videos
Yeah especially the salary🙎🙎
5:44 and 9:06 So in theory...if anyone asks these questions AFTER the making of this video, would that not give you permission to "be mean" ? I would say that's an emphatic "HELL YEAH!" Refer them to this video. Stop them in their tracks! Be vigilant! Lol
Yo bro... bro... bro... Can i have some advice?
Bro, How much effort do i have to put into studying highschool subjects?
Bro bro bro, how much do you make?
what is the difference between googling and binging things?
and last but not least how do i Google?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That beards lookin a little salt and pepper there Cellini 😉
Dr. Cellini, am I ever too old to go to med school to become a surgeon?
He takes the bus 🚌?
I never seen a RUclipsr catch the 🚎
Well he’s in NYC
Nice
I can understand that the test question could be frustrating, but I just don't think it is that simple. Some people might have already taken the test when they ask and so they're not trying to aim low, they already took it, blew it, and want to know if they still have a shot. Not everyone thrives on tests and that doesn't necessarily mean they are stupid or being lazy. It is pretty well documented that applicants who are lower SES or with a disability score lower on standardized tests (and you better believe, those perspectives and experiences are NEEDED in medicine!)
Some people are SO rude..(asking one's salary).....are you growing a beard and moustache??...I hope I'm not being rude asking this, Dr. C. ....RN 🇨🇦
Are you a doctor or a nurse?
@@HeyItsLonewolf ..you mean ME?...a Canadian RN
Linda Matthews because you said Dr. C so I was confused.
Sir , I’m a huge fan of ur videos. Can u please make another video of study tips ? Please ? Much love from India.
