maaan, i watched it before sleep and on a next day i made a good whip! first in my life, but already good one! thanks for so nice and easy to understand instructions!
Super logical and clear explanation. I'm def gonna apply your teachings and start to learn tomorrow. Wish me luck. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, a huge effort!
Great Video. I gotta say you got the best teaching tech possible. O was going to ask go put on a video on tables but you said right a the beginning of the video. Looking forward to this one
I’m comfortable with a bar turn, and I can carve off the lift. I appreciate how you break down each step. Now I understand how to begin practicing the whip. Thanks for your videos
Great breakdown. I found my hangup. I bar turn fine and can carve, but I wasn't leading the whips with my shoulders followed by hips, I was carving and then turning the bars in the air.
Hip action, my arch nemesis in all things athletic. Doesn't matter what it is, if hips are involved, I fail/underperform at the action usually. Kicks, punches, whips, throwing a ball or disc, etc etc....
I didn't understand how i grew up competing in motocross and on a BMX, yet i such on a full suspension MTB lol. I think i just naturally scrub way too much.
Congrats on discussing the infamous fish whip. The ugliest move in MTB! One tip that I found after years of trying to learn to jump. Steeper dirt jumps seem better for learning to properly whip as you have more time in the air and less forward speed. Although hitting the dj line is a challenge in itself compared to the long and low trail style jumps.
I’m right foot forward and I whip to the left. That corresponds also with how I like to wallride (wall up on my right) or how I’d carve a quarter pipe (right to left). One way will feel natural, the other way won’t?
I've watch a ton of MTB jumping videos and your are hands down the best! Thanks for all you do!
@@jasonlorance1918 I love every minute of it. I’m glad your enjoying it
@@Theshredacademydo you do private or group lessons?

Yesterday I threw my first whip, now can't wait to try with this knowledge. Thank you!
Thanks for the breakdown Dusty. I'm not at whip mode yet but this is well explained.
Very helpful vid thank you for sharing 👊🏽
Glad it was helpful!
I’m just head to find out what the hell a fish whip is.
another great video from the Shred Academy and Dusty the deer jumper!

You never mentioned how to decide which direction to Whip. Might seem obvious to you but might not to someone who's never done one.
Just try it which feels comfortable i guess, i dont think there is much to it

Try both ways and choose the one that feels more natural or do both ways
100% agree. I learned to whip the opposite direction I learned bar turns lol. Bar turns go right whips go left 😂
Opposite your front foot is usually what's comfortable for most people.
Is the whip purely for looks or is there a practical advantage to it?
It’s to look just like everyone else.
Why is this rasta in my feed again?! With his low fps camera!

That is the most moronic and potentially dangerous move so why even do?
