    Such an enormous truck and only 107' ladder ...

      @Wood Duck I don't know how long this Tiller Truck is on the road, but the American 100' mid-mount ladders are on a comparable large truck chassis where we have Aerials in the 170' range. The Tiller is longer for sure, but I don't know if it's a longer or shorter truck than the ones with a 300' range over here. Our 105' rear-mount Tower Ladders are based on a very compact truck chassis to gain a great maneuverability, maybe even better than a Tiller

    If a volunteer agency can have ladders trucks, heavy rescues, etc, why not a TDA if that's what they feel is best for their streets. As you can see, Loudoun County, VA, just west of DC, has some money. Very pretty area too. Not at all like the area east of DC.

    What makes an Ascendant tiller ladder different from a regular tiller? They seem to be built the same way.

      Leesburg is a large volunteer fire department in Loudoun County Va. They have live-ins and have no issues with staffing, they also have 2 stations. This truck is replacing another tiller.

    what are the ground pads for

    • @FeartheCyr611
      @FeartheCyr611 4 года назад

      To distribute the weight of the outriggers
      If they didn't use the pads the legs would sink into the ground or asphalt and make it uneven

      James Cyr now I understand why they use ground pads
