Great video. Very thorough. Thank you for posting it. One quick item that was edited out: when you carefully put the new bulb in, once it is all the way in, you have to turn it clockwise to secure it in place. I am sure it was just a quick editing oversight, and I am sure that 99% of the people who are willing to replace their own bulb will realize this, but just in case....
Thank you very much. I’ve been paying the well company 225.00 to change mine because they installed it. This is going to save me a lot of money. Thanks for the video.
Hi I install water treatment systems daily . This is a helpful video however this type of U.V. Housing needs to be installed vertically with a drain port will make changing lamp/sleeve easier . Also would not install ballast underneath as water was dripping over the connector. If you want the sleeve to stay clean install a pre treatment such as a water softener or sulphur/iron filter . Cheers
Roland, thank you for a great video. This is the first time I’ve changed the UV bulb. Your instructions are great. Maybe you can help. When I plug it back in and press the reset button it blinks green for a minute the red and won’t reset to 365. Can you help? Thank you
Great video, huge help with my first D4 UV change! Just one heads up, that might affect some people. Our system has two water filter cartridges in line with the UV unit. If you have the situation, there’s a pressure release button which is black on the top of the filter cartridge casing.
And where the water exits I have a drain valve excess water goes right in a bucket then you can remove the bulb from the top and not get a drop of water anywhere
I put plumbers anti freeze through entire system including filters and lamp in the fall. Should I first purge all anti freeze and run water for half hour. I have also been told that I need to use a bleach solution to kill anything by letting it run for 3 hours, then turn system off to isolate and replace both filters and the lamp/core system components. Your video was very useful.
I cleaned the quartz sleeve and hit the reset button. If I need to replace the lamp, will the system's digital reader let me know? Or did I screw up by resetting it the digital reader and it now reads a possibly old lamp is a new one?
I replaced the lamp but am getting a red light where the lamp location is on the black unit? It should be solid green. It is getting power, I checked on it and the lamp was hot? Bad lamp? (This has happened before- when I ordered from Viqua directly so I went with an Amazon equivalent this time, but now am regretting it).
Hi, why shouldn't touch the quartz sleeve? Only because of oil residuum from my fingers or there is some other reasons, too? I ask because i touched the sleeve when i changed it and then i have only clean it with dry clothes. It is OK?
Hi, I live in your area. I have the same system, and the bulb doesn't even last a year (more like 8 months). Off hand, how long have your bulbs been lasting?
If the sleeve is not clean, will that make the system beep? I had a neighbor replace my bulb today but didn't have a new sleeve. Even though he followed the directions, it did not reset to 365 days. There is a very low beeping. From experience, I know it will soon be so loud you cannot think. I can get a new sleeve, if that can be the problem.
You let the water run all over the connector. You could have simply hooked it above the unit. This is all incorrect. The unit should have been installed vertically. There is a nut that screws into the unit and forms the seal. This would have just leaked the way you showed it. I don’t recommend anyone follows this.

First video I watch that is physically connected to a water source and we get to see the whole process. Excellent video, thank you so much.
Dude, simple, to the point with very good and realistic instructions. THANKS!!!

It’s true what you said right at the end just take your time… That’s where people mess things up they start trying to rush. Nice work
Thanks!! Just changed mine for the first time and it really helped.
Awesome!

Just discovered ours is leaking and beeping with a lamp failure message. Will use your great video tomorrow. Thanks much👍😊
Good luck!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
Thanks a million Sir.
Interesting how to on how to maintain these water purifiers. 👍
I can't help but wonder if you could wet sand the quartz sleeve, then hand buff with a polishing compound.

Unplug again and don't push the reset button. Maybe that will help
@@GettingItDoneRepairs Thank you I’ll try that!
Yeah, it worked! Thanks again! 👍🏻
@@dianeb7420 So glad! Good job

Very welcome
I have mine installed vertically not horizontally with the bulb on top

Exactly😀
Real interesting great job.

I too wonder about the disinfection protocol. How necessary is this?

MR. WONDERFUL😃!!
Why isn’t the unit installed vertically?

How do you know yours isn't lasting?

It's always worked fine for us.
