Is very simple, RedSox management didnt think Mookie was a guy that they can build around. Maybe is not a big guy that hits 40-50 hrs each year. So they didn't want to commit big money for him. anyway, is over, everyone move on. Mookie went to Dodgers and he won two world series there now. I am sure he's more happy how things turned out to be.

damn I love having mookie on the dodgers

Such a pathetic mistake. Mookie was obviously a durable and great player who loves the game and would’ve signed long term if they had offered a high-level market contract. They locked up Sale instead, which was a terrible call.

Why are all the Red Sox people still crying about Mookie Betts? You made a mistake by getting rid of him and he made you pay for it get over it. Quick, putting the blame on Mookie. He got you a championship and now he’s with the Dodgers and got two more. Stop crying.

Boston media keeps smoking that copium, they just don't want to face the fact that the management made one of the worst decision in recent history of baseball.

This idiotic move was the start of the end of my support for the Sox , the final nail was Xander not getting resigned. Not Bostons team anymore , what a colossal failure !

the worst trade since they traded the babe. red sox fans should be excited to have the two worst trades in the history of the sport. mookie already has 2 rings with the dodgers and i guarantee will win atleast one more in the next 10 years . as a dodgers fan, thank you red sox for being dumb.

Mookie wants to win and Dodgers is an organization that focuses on winning. It's a match made in heaven. Thanks Red Sox!

Red Sox ownership is and has been in profit taking mode. They are focused on other endeavors, why watch and even talk about this team until they return to winning mode.

Maybe tops the Babe trade as the worst trade in Red Sox history.

And Betts is now a two time WS champion as a Dodger and continues to prove this trade was terrible. You can sugar coat it as much as you want, but in the end, the trade is completely terrible. Red Sox owner would rather buy another franchise than focus on winning with one.

We should’ve super maxed him even if it meant we had to loose a lot! He’s the best OF in redsox history maybe even one of the best players ever to play if he keeps it up! He is my favorite player! Besides Raffy or Vladdy
    Our squad could’ve been
    C Christian Vazquez (MAX)
    1B Vladimir Gurro Jr. (FA)
    2B Trevor Story (MAX)
    3B Raffy devers (SUPER MAX)
    SS Xander Bogarts (MAX)
    LF Alex Vurdugo (MAX)
CF Jackie Bradley Jr. (VET 6 year)
    RF Mookie Betts (Super Max)

Typical Tomase BS. Time to just use AI because sports writers in Boston are 100% worthless today. A liability. The Red Sox problem right now is that they don't spend. Has nothing to do with Betts and his huge contract that the Dodgers will regret in time. He wasn't even worth it last year and his has never been consistent. The Sox are around the middle of the pack in spending while the Dodgers are always either at or near the top even while never winning a real ring (2020 2-month season is completely bogus). How did Boston sports media fall so far? I guess the media being replaced by people on the internet doomed them. No money ends up with no talent. Time to just give it up. How many retired people are left that actually still pay attention to this stuff?

Mookie has been a critical part on two World Series champion teams with the Dodgers. Sure he probably won't be worth $30 million a year when he's 40, but I doubt the organization will have any regrets.
