Backyard Bonsai Bench Tour at Vince's + Saving an Amur Maple

- Kale and I visit my good friend and fellow Toronto Bonsai Society (and KW Bonsai) member Vince for a quick backyard bonsai bench tour. While we are there, Vince starts the process to save an Amur Maple that's been a bit neglected by chopping off the dead portion, and experimenting with the top down repotting method.

Quince for Vince, some tales for Kale and a big Hey to Jay!
🌟Thanks Nigel! Love the rhyme! 🐦💙
Great answer to 'when did you last sharpen these?' 'They're hard to sharpen!' 🤣🤣much better than 'I've never sharpened them!'
🌟ha ha, thanks Tony!
man. what a beautiful sahring! see you later.📢
🌟Thank you!
It was great to join you live and I am looking forward to getting to know more of you in future premiers. Cheers jay.
🌟Thanks Xavier! 👍
Not sure what Yamadori means but we really like the Yamadori Boxwood. We have 2 Burning Bushes in the backyard. Colleen hacked em hard in the early spring and they're looking great !!
Love that shelf, what a great way to expand a patio 👏👏👏
Maple's going to looks great now!!
Love the viewers pics Jay !!
Have a great weekend!!
Cheers J&C 🌱🤞🌱
🌟Thanks guys! Yamadori basically means collecting a tree from the mountains in Japanese. We use it even when there is no mountain, to mean digging up your own tree from the wild. We also use it for digging up from a neighbor’s yard.. But we tend to say ‘yardadori’ or ‘urban yamadori’. Us cheapskates like free trees! 😂🤣🐦💙
@@BlueJayBonsai very cool !! Like the yardori 😁😁😁

Nice bench tour. Lots of nice material for the future. Loved the windswept shefflera and the sunbathing desert rose. So nice to meet up with bonsai friends and work on the trees together. 😀👍
🌟Thank you Magnus! 🐦💙

🌟Days! 😂🤣 Thanks Alan!
Great bench tour!!!! Vince has some nice trees. The boxwood from the hydro field has a great trunk. Got me some tree envy.
🌟Thanks Derrick! I need to do the updated tour at your place. Who finds a boxwood with nebari like that thrown away?!?! 😂🤣🐦💙
Good video beautiful sharing..
🌟Thank you! 🙏
Well now, nice to see Vince’s collection and to hear from him in person! I remember the KW Bonsai yamadori trip Nigel produced where Vince collected those. Awesome to see them thriving. And that left for dead boxwood…whoa!!
I second Brennan’s comment about your band of brothers.
