I guess it's about time I became a friend of Laphroaig. I've lost count of all the bottles I've had over the years and I've just chucked those bits of paper away. I'm not saying Laphroaig is my favourite distillery but I return to Laphroaig more than many. I've had more success with the independent bottlers in recent years. Good review. You're on a run.

you should definitely keep those bits of paper! I collected almost 50 drams from the distillery last year when I went. And, yes, Laphroaig, is quite possibly one of the more dependable distilleries out there. Which independent bottles caught your fancy?

@@TBONEcomedy I find that Hunter Laing are consistently good. I had a great Carn Mor 6 year old not long ago which I mention because young Laphroaig is more often than not very good indeed. By the way, I do the water just like you.

Nice review, tempted to pull the trigger. Wine and Port finishes/maturations are some of my favourites, however this one, only available through the Friends-program via their website would likely come with quite a bit of shipping and border taxes attached. Also, Laphroaig colour all their whisky as far as I am aware, sadly.

You're right about the coloring. Though I'm not sure if it's across the board. I believe the Cairdeas (since it's a one off) might be spared that.

That background music made it a bit distracting to follow your review. This one sounds like a buy. Thanks for produceing this video!

I've fixed that problem in later videos - thanks for your feedback. And yes this Cairdeas is a great buy.
