The card stock that was used to make the lamp housing, was used through several manufactured products in it's time. Camera housings, toys, even car and truck interiors. This toy housing would have been steam bent. The material used to assemble it is called buckram and was used to cover books.
It is indeed a stroke of Genius, while I love leather for its ability to be completely Blacked out using Dye, it’s sadly a near lost art now and sheet metal is a very good alternative!
When I was a child in 1977, 10 years old, I had a projector throw a roll of paper under Roynel brand, and I used to draw customized cartoons, static pictures, non movement, just one lens, metallic case and a simple bulb. The projector here shown has two lenses, giving effect of movement. Great! Huggs from 🇨🇱 Santiago, Chile SouthAmerica. 😉😀

Wow, the movie at the end was epic. The suspense, the drama, the action were out of this world, Hollywood can take note from this for future movies. Almost forgot, a very good restoration but for the light bulb cover i would try to use hard leather or something similar to the original piece in order to be as authentic as possible

I had a Thing-Maker as a kid in the 60's. Plug it in, heat the metal mold up and pour goop in to cook up little Creepy Crawler creatures. Hot enough to blister a finger. Safety concern? We didn't touch it until the creatures cooled, problem solved!
