I appreciate the trying to capture every thought, I lose them all the time. As someone who has dealt with a lot of board minutes, I appreciated your discussion of how they are different than transcription.
I like the idea of this type of tech from a concept perspective, perhaps not this device specifically, but something simple easy to use and accessible and then review the captures later refine what I wanted to record or capture..
Shame, but this type of tech could be really handy.. I too write notes and then later review then, an easy to use tech version could easily become a daily use item, if the build was at least IP6X and worked smoothly. Something that a low power bluetooth to my phone would work well. And even just a .txt type file would suffice..
I use the Plaud to record RUclips videos and it transcribes them perfectly, then I share to the remarkable app. I am able to get incredibly long lectures and philosophical discussions and debates on my remarkable, and can read them instead of sitting through watching 5-7 hours of content. There is a lot of content that is simply just better being able to read, it's much quicker and efficient.
@@MrKooderna good idea, but are you aware that you can click through on RUclips now to get a transcript, and then use that text in the same way? Or otherwise try pasting your RUclips links into NoteBook LM and you can ask it questions about the content, that's possibly the quickest way to achieve what to you want there.
@KitBetts-Masters Wait, I tried this and it doesn't let me copy the transcript, it just shows line by line transcript. Is this perhaps browser on PC only? I have been trying it on mobile
@@MrKooderna Notebook LM actually lets you ask questions, organise summaries in different ways, and compare them with different sources, such as reference pieces. Quite ReMarkable, actually ;)
I have the note and the pin and find them so useful for transcribing , and even better for the summaries. I save loads of time as the summaries have various templates (join the beta group) that i use depending on what i need. I tend to have the note attached to my phone so dont really use the pin so much. It does way more than the iPhone 16 can as it’s not just a voice recorder. Ps never had an issue having the pin join the same note account or any glitchy issues. I rely on it for board meetings / committees etc and never been let down, its not just for voice memos. And the creators are always updating the software based on customer feedback.
@@azendantforces1897actually not really. I rarely use the Pin as I have the note attached to my phone all the time and use it everyday. The Pin was gifted and I just don’t really use it. I don’t feel you would ever need both actually. They both work seamlessly though should you have a need for both. I think people who have inspiration ideas while out and about tend to like the Pin, whereas I use the note for meetings and phone calls.
I used the Note for a call today for the first time. I listened to the recording and the callers voice was extremely faint. It didn’t capture anything from them, only my voice. I changed the VCS setting from medium to high; will wait for the next call to confirm if it works. However, I also ordered the Pin as I record virtual calls several times a day, and at times receive calls at the same time. Which is the only reason having both should work for me. Unfortunately, I cannot use an AI recording app (I used Coconote for months - it’s great!) as my virtual call recordings would sometimes be disrupted by a phone call. This is the only reason I chose Plaud. I’m really hoping I don’t experience issues connecting the Pin to the same app/account. I ordered the Pin from their site - it’s seems to be coming from China. The Note - ordered from Amazon and it arrived the same day.
Kitt can you help me? My RM pro when I do zig zag lines they are jagged?? Not always but most of the time j make zig zag and it's jagged? Is this a damaged digitizer?
Hello, Mr. Masters. Thank you for the helpful video. I actually have the Plaud Note Pin as well and I like it so far. The only thing I wish is that it had a PAUSE button so that I could continue adding to a single recording file. I don't think such a button exists. So if I record, turning it on and off throughout the day, I would end up with like 10 different recordings. But on the phone app, you're able to merge the recordings. If you know of any such way to PAUSE the recording and continue later, please let me know.
Good review but I have some suggestions. You can leave it recording while in the shower and leaving it nearby away from water. Also you can use both devices on one device. I have three connected to my phone. I have the note, note pin and note pin replacement. The original note pin would just turn on and record at night for no reason and I just got the replacement. Now the replacement only worked for two hours today before I had to recharge it.
I have a theory that shower thoughts are a sign that we don't give other time or space for thinking. I have replaced my 15min. drive with a 2k walk and 30 min bus ride to my to give more space to learning and thinking.
I've ordered a PLaud Note to see how I go with it. I like the ability to record phone calls on the go so to speak and the ease of access and versatility. The Apple Watch Ultra and the Voice Notes app do a good job and, indeed, work well in the shower or when cycling; however, this seems like it could be easier to use overall.
The regular voice recorder on my watch, I active it directly touching a corner on the screen. Later I use Soundtype on my phone to transcript. Easy peasy ✌️ Ah! And it's waterproof of course
@@rodrigocastillo204it’s actually great app for my use case. 180mins for free with basic plan. It translates (okay) Portuguese language. But the only caveat is that i need to split the audios in 8min maximum because it doesn’t let you transcribe over than that. But honestly is pretty good! Thanks!!!
How often are you in a quiet environment where you can talk to yourself without looking like an idiot, AND away from your smart watch, phone, computers, e-ink, Alexa, etc? Oh, and not in the bath, the shower, the beach, a swimming pool, or a rainy day? Sorry, but I just don’t get it. PS: the soccer club called. They’d like to suggest that you switch to something less demanding of your attention.
Hehehe, yeah, I very much seek out places where I can be alone to think! And at other times, I am just happy to chat away to myself. I try to go for regular walks and I often do that on my tod. And there is also my commute in the car, so that's perfect talking to myself time!
Yeah, too many limitations and I don't like the idea of yet another device to remember to pick up and remember to charge, and another cloud service which will disappear when the company goes bust or is taken over. So I agree that your phone is the best device for this. Feels like companies are trying to make money by separating out use-cases from the all-conquering mobile phone which has absorbed pretty much all the use-cases that there are. Also, I'm not a person who talks to themselves - the conversations I have with myself are in my head, so when a thought recorder/transcriber comes along, that would be the ultimate note taker. On second thoughts, maybe that would be terrible :)

The recording necklace creeps me out. It's like wearing a wire 24/7 with speech to text functionality. Which feels like a privacy issue.
Mine comes in 2 days time. Great to hear genuine and not paid for review. Excellent
