Awesome guide! Since I was practicing the dodges I replaced the 2x Luck Up with 2x HP up, 1 Revival on Aerith with Healing, and cast Manawall on Tifa. After about 4 minutes of dodging around and healing Tifa, I pressured Weiss and said, "What the hell, I'll try the finisher combo." I did the Arcane Ward>True Strike>True Strike>Thundaga (Aerith/Cloud)>Rise and Fall>Thundaga (Aerith/Cloud)>Omnistrike>Whirling Uppercut>Dive Kick>Whirling Uppercut>Divekick>Thundaga (Aerith/Cloud). He died. I wasn't even trying to do a kill run and he died. I laughed so hard. Only took me 3 attempts and I was mostly practicing the dodges and not really attacking. Cheers.
It took me like 12 times and essentially the only thing i could do with my laid back playstyle was take his final attack once and have the auto revive accessory. It was a true ff superboss battle

Yoooo, I don’t normally comment but I just needed to thank you for this guide! This was the one that did it for me. I was already good at the dodges, just wasn’t dealing enough damage. Tried this method and got him down to around 20% on the first try. Feels good to see that trophy pop, thanks!

Tbh I'm still hit or miss with it. I sometimes am good like in this video and other times it goes on for quite a bit. Still trying to find the right flow and balance but I appreciate it man! Just a warning for future videos they may not be as compact plugs as this one was

Thank you for your guide! It was fun getting a no-hit run through phase 1 then just finishing him off with Thundaga immediately. Using this method was much faster and easier than I thought!
For people freaking out during the stagger and not inflicting enough damage to kill him, just swap the green or refocus materias that negligibly boost magic stats (they're good only for speed runs really) for MP UP materias so you can finish him off easily on his second stage with just lv3 thunder/fire spam with Cloud and Aerith. This fight is really not hard as it looks. The Parry command can also be used to jump over his head during his stab move.
This guide really really helped, thanks so much! Mine was far from flawless but I beat him in just over 2 and a half minutes in only a few legitimate attempts, not counting some tries to learn the attack dodging. Thank you!
Took me about 30 tries and 50 million swears strung together because I couldn’t get the timing right, but man was this satisfying on that last run when everything clicked

Finally bested Weiss after 2hrs. Lol. Going back and mastering ff7 remake battle mechanics of Tifa after a year of completing it is crazy. The muscle memory of doing combo again was a struggle. I can’t imagine having to remaster it again after part 2 comes out!

@@BltzZ honestly i did it in 1:30 with this method. that's a speed run for me hahahha. ur honestly a god ur guides have been so helpful. this is my 2nd time getting the platinum cuz my HD crashed and now i have the ps5. but your methods made it seem like a completely different game. heading back to INTERGRADE to do secret weapons with yuffie. my only struggle was sephiroth cuz i didn't see a guide from u for that but was able to figure him out my self. but again thank you so much your guides are like non other on youtube! 🙏🏽 can't wait for part 2 and also 16!!! 🙌🏽

Decided to do this before starting Rebirth to finish off 100% in Remake and following this guide beat him after 21 tries. Was nowhere even close to flawless gameplay and got him before the phase change.
Thank you!!! This is the only guide truly which helped. I only had and used 2 Fury rings on Tifa and Aerith, then gave Cloud the Götterdämmerung to land the final finishing move.
Forgot about this and decided to give it a go failed over 20 times but after your strategy took a few tries to get used to but next day tried it and beat it was so shocked thanks 😂👑

If you get close to beating him but don't deplete his help KEEP GOING! Get Aerith or Cloud to keep taking advantaged of Arcane War to cast Thundaga while distracting him with Tifa (he should be in his second phase). I messed up on the stagger but I got this first try so anybody reading this, u got this.
yooooo i finally beat weiss after like 5 hours of trying your guide was the key, didn't wipe him out before entering the second stage but that's when i kept dodging with tifa and using cloud and aerith for the attack spells. man it seemed impossible but finally with a little persistence. the fight would have been way easier if it wasn't for that immaculate end ability
Thanks for the guide! Took me about 15 minutes, retried 4 times. Didn't have the cleanest execution when he was staggered, but just kept throwing magic at him when he changed phases and he went down. Cloud and Tifa went down too but the clear is what we came for :D
Super late with this comment but I finally beat him after 50-60 attempts. This set up worked really well but i removed one of the revives for a healing and had Aerith heal Tifa a couple of times before staggering. My reaction speed sucks and couldn't do the first part without getting hit at least once. Finally got lucky dogging his stab ability and he threw out a bunch of crosswise cleaves on my run. For Evisceration, I couldn't react quick enough to get the timing down after all these attempts but found that if you keep dodging backwards you can avoid it. Just ran around and waiting for him to do a different ability. I was close the calling it so thank you very much!
Thank you! Was struggling big time until the Tifa parry strat. Now it's cake and just becomes a stagger burn. Dolphin flurry LB is a pretty nice way to cap the stagger if you can!
I was able to beat him after a Normal Playthrough, without doing a Hard Playthrough. HP UPs on eveyone, MP UPs on everyone, REVIVAL on Everyone, HEAL on everyone, MAGIC UP on Aerith, PARRY on Tifa, REVIVAL EAR RINGS(or equivalent) on everyone. Most important thing after that is just dodging with Tifa, “Focused” abilities until stagger, then obviously build the multiplayer up with Tifa while using a Ray of Judgment with Aerith and an Infinity’s End with Cloud. I used 0 Magic Materia. A lot of these guides use these crazy 1 Hit KO setups but for normal people you don’t have to do a hard playthrough to beat him.

When Weiss got staggered for the first time, I used among others Refocus on Tifa which gave me three ATB stripes, which were very useful later to launch a massive attack from terrain conjured up by Arcane Ward with Firaga’s. I definitely didn't use Divekick. When Weiss got staggered a second time, I probably finished him with Firaga’s from Aerith and Cloud coupled with Tifa’s True Strike plus all of this with different names, which we can get by pressing a triangle. Probably since I don't remember exactly what I was using, there was too much going on on the monitor screen. Something fun at the end, it was probably some glitch in the scene generation. During one of the attempts to pass this fight, Weiss became invisible. Seriously, all you could see was Weiss and the names of his attacks. xD
I beat him it was really hard. I like how this guy at least explains things about the fight most people are like it's so easy to look at me and waste him so lame. He got to the second phase I used a purple stalker's weapon for Tifa it seems to me it does the same damage. What helped my was how to dodge I did need heals though.
Managed to beat Weiss thanks to you! Of course I was too slow during the first stagger so I had to do 50% of his HP in Phase 2, but thankfully that worked out.
Just dropping by to say thank you. I just beat him! I was not a super skillful player and take me around quite a few tries or so to get used to dodging Weiss's attacks, but once you get him into stagger the fight is almost over. Some suggestion for those who might have difficulty: 1. I replaced the time and barrier materia with HP Ups for a little more room for error. 2. Normally it would be better to change the target with the left and right buttons but if you have difficulty keeping the camera on Weiss whiling running around the venue (like me), you can temporarily change the settings to the right analog stick. When this setting is on, the camera automatically focuses on your chosen target, and since there is only one target you don't have to worry picking a target, nor the camera angle.
Thanks for this. I couldn't get the timing right for tifas blocks so I used hp up and revival earrings. When he went to second stage I just used cloud and aeris to thunder him. Also using thunder one on him using today triggers aeris auto thunder. Bastard got aeris eventually and then ifrot hurt him. Two more thunders from cloud and the pretty boi got slapped back the deepground.
For people struggling with doing enough damage during the first stagger you can take a scuffed strat approach. Slot magnified haste via Aerith. Aerith's 3 skill master skills leading into stagger become: Fira, Haste, arcane ward. Clouds are: Fira, Curaga on Tifa, Thundaga in arcane ward during stagger. Still ensure Tifa is chi level 3 before stagger with full atb. Make sure when he unstaggers you have an ATB left on someone. Phase 2: No matter what you do at this point do not give up. My weiss had about 40% hp left. You cycle cast Thundaga with everyone in the arcane ward. Because you are hasted you should be able to get some number of them off before you run out of atb. Don't just ham spam, wait for the 1st cast to hit, and then time it so you start casting when the character is about to do their atb ward cast. Thundaga always interrupts weiss so he won't be able to do anything in this phase and you can easily do like 35% of his health before you run out of MP / ATB. By the time I ran out of atb / MP he had like 5% HP left and I believe he even staggered. I finished him with a Calamity's End for style points.

I hate mechanics most people would never know until someone told them about it. Weiss is the very last thing many people do and I just now learned you could vault over him during stab. Who fn knew? This youtube guy apparently, but he doesn't count.

Only flaw in your guide. If Tifa goes down, Aerith is auto next controlled and auto next target. No chance of reviving Tifa. The flaw is not on you, I made my team Tifa > Cloud > Aerith and it still auto choses Aerith.
Wow, this guide was amazing! It only took me a few tries to beat him, and that was mostly just me retrying as soon as I fucked up, I probably coulda clutched it out with arise honestly. The explanation of his red attacks was exactly what I needed! And this strategy is flexible enough to work even with some mistakes, I didn’t have near enough atb on Cloud and Aerith when he staggered, but was able to just thundaga nuke his second phase down with the entire party on an arcane ward. Took like four or five double casts!
Great guide. Goes without saying the bulk of your time will be spent in Phase 1 just learning his patterns. Once you stagger him the battle is pretty much over unless you mess up with the ATB (which I almost did). I had Gotter on Cloud just in case it charged up enough by the time I got the stagger to use it and never needed it. Yes Gotter works...you just don't get the immediate charge, but it will build limit throughout the fight.
Thank you once again. The nightmare is over. I had a hard time dodging evisceration bc I could never see his stance (he was out of focus). I had the same camera controls from your Yuffie episode too. Now I don’t know if this is true but I ran around the stage (while parry dodging his attacks) and got fewer evisceration attacks. If anything it did help me keep an eye him all the time. I didn’t have to worry about where he was coming. I guess I’ll come back when part 2 comes drops. Thank you again!

I replaced Barrier with Magnify, and I traded one Refocus for a Revival between Cloud and Aerith. That allowed Cloud to haste everyone at the beginning of battle and for Cloud and Aerith to be able to revive Tifa whenever she died. I was able to beat it after about 50 attempts. I staggered him and kept True Striking and using Thundaga. He became un-staggered and killed Tifa, but I had still had enough Thundagas queued to kill him.
Took me about 20 tries but I finally did it! Thank you so much for this guide, I'd have been lost without it. I consider myself pretty good at this game, but my first attempt at fighting this guy left me with my jaw on the floor and my brother laughing his ass off. I'm not a fighting games twitch reflex sort of guy either, which truly is a testament to the precision with which you laid out this method. Thanks again, man.

Finally got around to the Intermission DLC after all the game awards hype last week and gave this fight a shot. All I can say is that for my button mashing impatient playstyle, this has been by far the easiest and best strat I’ve used compared to other, slower builds that push Weiss into p3/p4. Even if you don’t learn the EXACT Tifa combo you wrote out, as long as you you start Thundaga spamming him after his stagger runs out, Arcane Ward combined with ATB stagger, ATB Assist, Skill Master will allow you to just Thundaga spam him into stun lock until he dies. And surely Rebirth will allow us to import gear and data from Remake so that we can carry 3x Gotterdammerung into the fight with Midgar Solom right? RIGHT?!
Alittle late to the Intergrade train, but wanted to say thanks for the video. Even at a minimum, getting him staggered and following your guide during that phase shredded him further than I had ever been and I just went full blast on the magic when he changed phase. Took a few tries but better than the few hours I spent last time trying to beat him.
You know this kind of boss reminds of why I enjoy bosses that don’t have invincibility frames for 99.9% of the fight when you do get an opportunity for attack it is 3 seconds
tried this method, and the stagger didnt kill him, so i just spammed him at half health, with firaga's from everyone and finished him on last phase. u can legit do like half his health in a ward, even unstaggered during phase 2 LOL

most stupid boss design I have ever seen. forcing stagger and zerg or get enrage 1shot. done litterly everything else in the game and you could build with how you want and if you kept people alive and healed you could get by, cating manawall for behamet was a bit nich and even if 1 lived you could raise and start to get traction again over time. but not having to save up everyone's atb and fit it in 1 stagger gage. worst. design. ever.
Your build helped a lot. I wasn't doing a lot of damage after 1st stagger (I lacked some materias for the build), so I saved mp in phase 1, I just staggered him with focused strike and dodges, in phase 2 i just kept away and spamming magic, and summon ifrit after he starts rejuvenation at the very end of his hp, and kept spamming magic, until ifrit do the final blow. Beat him in my 19th try.
There is nothing good or enjoyable about this fight. Poorly designed and a waste of time. Pity, this actually could have been fun or at least interesting but no, another dumb fight that makes no sense. Good guide by the way, I wish I did not need it though.

@@BltzZ honestly i did it in 1:30 with this method. that's a speed run for me hahahha. ur honestly a god ur guides have been so helpful. this is my 2nd time getting the platinum cuz my HD crashed and now i have the ps5. but your methods made it seem like a completely different game. heading back to INTERGRADE to do secret weapons with yuffie. my only struggle was sephiroth cuz i didn't see a guide from u for that but was able to figure him out my self. but again thank you so much your guides are like non other on youtube! 🙏🏽 can't wait for part 2 and also 16!!! 🙌🏽

I came back to remake 1 after over 500 hours of rebirth combat and wanna cry. It’s so depressing going back to this lmao
Decided to do this before starting Rebirth to finish off 100% in Remake and following this guide beat him after 21 tries. Was nowhere even close to flawless gameplay and got him before the phase change.
Thank you!!! This is the only guide truly which helped. I only had and used 2 Fury rings on Tifa and Aerith, then gave Cloud the Götterdämmerung to land the final finishing move.

If you get close to beating him but don't deplete his help KEEP GOING! Get Aerith or Cloud to keep taking advantaged of Arcane War to cast Thundaga while distracting him with Tifa (he should be in his second phase). I messed up on the stagger but I got this first try so anybody reading this, u got this.
I second this... keep the zerg on while moving behind him continuing dmg. If you give him time to switch back he murders everyone lol.

yooooo i finally beat weiss after like 5 hours of trying your guide was the key, didn't wipe him out before entering the second stage but that's when i kept dodging with tifa and using cloud and aerith for the attack spells. man it seemed impossible but finally with a little persistence. the fight would have been way easier if it wasn't for that immaculate end ability

Thanks for the guide! Took me about 15 minutes, retried 4 times. Didn't have the cleanest execution when he was staggered, but just kept throwing magic at him when he changed phases and he went down. Cloud and Tifa went down too but the clear is what we came for :D
Super late with this comment but I finally beat him after 50-60 attempts. This set up worked really well but i removed one of the revives for a healing and had Aerith heal Tifa a couple of times before staggering. My reaction speed sucks and couldn't do the first part without getting hit at least once. Finally got lucky dogging his stab ability and he threw out a bunch of crosswise cleaves on my run. For Evisceration, I couldn't react quick enough to get the timing down after all these attempts but found that if you keep dodging backwards you can avoid it. Just ran around and waiting for him to do a different ability. I was close the calling it so thank you very much!
Thank you! Was struggling big time until the Tifa parry strat. Now it's cake and just becomes a stagger burn. Dolphin flurry LB is a pretty nice way to cap the stagger if you can!

I was able to beat him after a Normal Playthrough, without doing a Hard Playthrough.
HP UPs on eveyone, MP UPs on everyone, REVIVAL on Everyone, HEAL on everyone, MAGIC UP on Aerith, PARRY on Tifa, REVIVAL EAR RINGS(or equivalent) on everyone.
Most important thing after that is just dodging with Tifa, “Focused” abilities until stagger, then obviously build the multiplayer up with Tifa while using a Ray of Judgment with Aerith and an Infinity’s End with Cloud.
I used 0 Magic Materia.
A lot of these guides use these crazy 1 Hit KO setups but for normal people you don’t have to do a hard playthrough to beat him.

Before staggering Weiss for the first time, I used Unbridled Strength ability twice.
When Weiss got staggered for the first time, I used among others Refocus on Tifa which gave me three ATB stripes, which were very useful later to launch a massive attack from terrain conjured up by Arcane Ward with Firaga’s. I definitely didn't use Divekick.
When Weiss got staggered a second time, I probably finished him with Firaga’s from Aerith and Cloud coupled with Tifa’s True Strike plus all of this with different names, which we can get by pressing a triangle. Probably since I don't remember exactly what I was using, there was too much going on on the monitor screen.
Something fun at the end, it was probably some glitch in the scene generation. During one of the attempts to pass this fight, Weiss became invisible. Seriously, all you could see was Weiss and the names of his attacks. xD

I beat him it was really hard. I like how this guy at least explains things about the fight most people are like it's so easy to look at me and waste him so lame. He got to the second phase I used a purple stalker's weapon for Tifa it seems to me it does the same damage. What helped my was how to dodge I did need heals though.

Managed to beat Weiss thanks to you! Of course I was too slow during the first stagger so I had to do 50% of his HP in Phase 2, but thankfully that worked out.
Just dropping by to say thank you. I just beat him! I was not a super skillful player and take me around quite a few tries or so to get used to dodging Weiss's attacks, but once you get him into stagger the fight is almost over. Some suggestion for those who might have difficulty:
1. I replaced the time and barrier materia with HP Ups for a little more room for error.
2. Normally it would be better to change the target with the left and right buttons but if you have difficulty keeping the camera on Weiss whiling running around the venue (like me), you can temporarily change the settings to the right analog stick. When this setting is on, the camera automatically focuses on your chosen target, and since there is only one target you don't have to worry picking a target, nor the camera angle.
Thanks for this. I couldn't get the timing right for tifas blocks so I used hp up and revival earrings. When he went to second stage I just used cloud and aeris to thunder him. Also using thunder one on him using today triggers aeris auto thunder. Bastard got aeris eventually and then ifrot hurt him. Two more thunders from cloud and the pretty boi got slapped back the deepground.
Amazing guide, you actually made Weiss easy. Parry materia dodging is so op. Maybe I was kinda overlevelled but I beat him after like 5 tries

For people struggling with doing enough damage during the first stagger you can take a scuffed strat approach.
Slot magnified haste via Aerith. Aerith's 3 skill master skills leading into stagger become: Fira, Haste, arcane ward. Clouds are: Fira, Curaga on Tifa, Thundaga in arcane ward during stagger. Still ensure Tifa is chi level 3 before stagger with full atb. Make sure when he unstaggers you have an ATB left on someone.
Phase 2: No matter what you do at this point do not give up. My weiss had about 40% hp left. You cycle cast Thundaga with everyone in the arcane ward. Because you are hasted you should be able to get some number of them off before you run out of atb. Don't just ham spam, wait for the 1st cast to hit, and then time it so you start casting when the character is about to do their atb ward cast. Thundaga always interrupts weiss so he won't be able to do anything in this phase and you can easily do like 35% of his health before you run out of MP / ATB. By the time I ran out of atb / MP he had like 5% HP left and I believe he even staggered. I finished him with a Calamity's End for style points.

I hate mechanics most people would never know until someone told them about it. Weiss is the very last thing many people do and I just now learned you could vault over him during stab. Who fn knew? This youtube guy apparently, but he doesn't count.

Only flaw in your guide. If Tifa goes down, Aerith is auto next controlled and auto next target. No chance of reviving Tifa.
The flaw is not on you, I made my team Tifa > Cloud > Aerith and it still auto choses Aerith.
Wow, this guide was amazing! It only took me a few tries to beat him, and that was mostly just me retrying as soon as I fucked up, I probably coulda clutched it out with arise honestly. The explanation of his red attacks was exactly what I needed! And this strategy is flexible enough to work even with some mistakes, I didn’t have near enough atb on Cloud and Aerith when he staggered, but was able to just thundaga nuke his second phase down with the entire party on an arcane ward. Took like four or five double casts!

Great guide. Goes without saying the bulk of your time will be spent in Phase 1 just learning his patterns. Once you stagger him the battle is pretty much over unless you mess up with the ATB (which I almost did). I had Gotter on Cloud just in case it charged up enough by the time I got the stagger to use it and never needed it. Yes Gotter works...you just don't get the immediate charge, but it will build limit throughout the fight.
Thank you once again. The nightmare is over. I had a hard time dodging evisceration bc I could never see his stance (he was out of focus). I had the same camera controls from your Yuffie episode too.
Now I don’t know if this is true but I ran around the stage (while parry dodging his attacks) and got fewer evisceration attacks. If anything it did help me keep an eye him all the time. I didn’t have to worry about where he was coming.

I replaced Barrier with Magnify, and I traded one Refocus for a Revival between Cloud and Aerith. That allowed Cloud to haste everyone at the beginning of battle and for Cloud and Aerith to be able to revive Tifa whenever she died. I was able to beat it after about 50 attempts. I staggered him and kept True Striking and using Thundaga. He became un-staggered and killed Tifa, but I had still had enough Thundagas queued to kill him.
Took me about 20 tries but I finally did it! Thank you so much for this guide, I'd have been lost without it. I consider myself pretty good at this game, but my first attempt at fighting this guy left me with my jaw on the floor and my brother laughing his ass off. I'm not a fighting games twitch reflex sort of guy either, which truly is a testament to the precision with which you laid out this method. Thanks again, man.

Finally got around to the Intermission DLC after all the game awards hype last week and gave this fight a shot.
All I can say is that for my button mashing impatient playstyle, this has been by far the easiest and best strat I’ve used compared to other, slower builds that push Weiss into p3/p4. Even if you don’t learn the EXACT Tifa combo you wrote out, as long as you you start Thundaga spamming him after his stagger runs out, Arcane Ward combined with ATB stagger, ATB Assist, Skill Master will allow you to just Thundaga spam him into stun lock until he dies.
And surely Rebirth will allow us to import gear and data from Remake so that we can carry 3x Gotterdammerung into the fight with Midgar Solom right? RIGHT?!

Alittle late to the Intergrade train, but wanted to say thanks for the video. Even at a minimum, getting him staggered and following your guide during that phase shredded him further than I had ever been and I just went full blast on the magic when he changed phase. Took a few tries but better than the few hours I spent last time trying to beat him.
Best I could do was getting him down to 1/3 health. After that, a bit of resilience and it's game!

You know this kind of boss reminds of why I enjoy bosses that don’t have invincibility frames for 99.9% of the fight when you do get an opportunity for attack it is 3 seconds
tried this method, and the stagger didnt kill him, so i just spammed him at half health, with firaga's from everyone and finished him on last phase. u can legit do like half his health in a ward, even unstaggered during phase 2 LOL

most stupid boss design I have ever seen. forcing stagger and zerg or get enrage 1shot. done litterly everything else in the game and you could build with how you want and if you kept people alive and healed you could get by, cating manawall for behamet was a bit nich and even if 1 lived you could raise and start to get traction again over time. but not having to save up everyone's atb and fit it in 1 stagger gage. worst. design. ever.
Your build helped a lot. I wasn't doing a lot of damage after 1st stagger (I lacked some materias for the build), so I saved mp in phase 1, I just staggered him with focused strike and dodges, in phase 2 i just kept away and spamming magic, and summon ifrit after he starts rejuvenation at the very end of his hp, and kept spamming magic, until ifrit do the final blow. Beat him in my 19th try.
There is nothing good or enjoyable about this fight. Poorly designed and a waste of time. Pity, this actually could have been fun or at least interesting but no, another dumb fight that makes no sense.
