The more I watch it (I'd teach it in my ESL Classes), the more it becomes a horrifying nightmare---at least until the ending monologue, which would be part of the practice activities I'd made for my class.. Students were hypnotized watching it, having never seen such a well designed nightmare during the 2000-2200s, expecting him to re grow...the suspense (i.e., "What's going to happen next?") never lets up. P.S.: Mathieson's Spielberg movie "The Duel" has a similar ending where David Mann (Scott Carey) must face his Goliath (the giant spider) in a final battle...
