    Beautiful and simple. All I added was another hole in the short piece for hanging on a dowel. The other thing that might speed up assembly is to replace the bolt and wingnut with a dowel.

      Thank you very much! I actually made these about four years ago. I was making quite a few picture frames at that time. Since then, the jig has been hanging in that spot. It was time to blow off the dust and show everyone just how great this jig is at making quick work of assembling a picture frame.

      Paw Paw’s WorkShop what is the max sized frame you can glue up with your jig dims given

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  4 года назад

      I actually never have stretched it to the max. Most of my frames are around 16x20 and you can do that easily.

      Paw Paw’s WorkShop ok. Thanks for the reply. Best off simply making two. The size you demonstrated and perhaps a larger one should the need arise.

    As a fletcher if you want to turn out a lot of frames and not worried too much about your corners this would be it.

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  3 года назад

      The corners are protected better than the metal clamps normally used.

      @@PawPawsWorkShop Really? I would think linking up 4 corners while glued and making everything look clean would be hard to do. I'm going to make about 50 to 60 5x7 and 8x10 desk frames. I'm gonna make this jig for sure.

    What do you use to finish the wood to prevent the squeeze-out from sticking to the jig pieces?

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  4 года назад +1

      I put down freezer paper or wax paper and it works just fine.

    Is there ever a reason to tighten the wing nuts that holds the arms together? Could the arms have T nuts that recieve bolts and perform the same function? Thx

    Another great idea! I've made a few frames recently and struggled with the glue up. Wasn't fun, that part. This would be a great easel project. The largest capacity must be around 24 x 24 inches?

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  4 года назад

      Yes, it could be done on Easel. This is really faster the old fashioned way. Not sure the max capacity. I usually did frames around 16x24. You are probably correct.

    • @PawPawsWorkShop

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  9 месяцев назад

      Love it when people modify the design to fit their situation. For the smaller frames try spacer blocks or make a smaller clamp with closer tolerances
