    Two days ago I started to learn english on omegle, just talking with stranger people and “voilà” .. after two days of conversation I can understand 80-90% that you spoke. I’m very excited!!!!
    Guys, text to me here and leave your contacts to practice English together!! (Sorry if I wrong any word)

      the problem is fall down and not get up. But sometimes you need to see with another perspective. When you are moving up and fall forward, than you are better than the last time. Maybe you think" but I want to be better": Listen others teaches in English, listen something that you love. For example, I love to hear motivation while I am in my gym,and read a book aloud. Books with dialogues. Just keep Going and be better than yourself.

    The first part is a hard pill to take. I always believe that listening passively while doing another activity can improve my listening. Well maybe parts of it is true because certain words I recognize can be reminded over and over, but certain words that I don't know will remain unknown because I don't learn it.
    I'm learning french, I'm good at speaking and reading, but my listening is rather rusty. Guess it's necessary to jump over your comfort zone.

    English is not my first tongue. But I speak English from 5 grade. Many years. And I live in English speaking country for a long time. Just finished listening to The Martian audiobook. Every word pronounced by the speaker was crystal clear and I understood even more than I used to. And in the evening I turned on Disney+ and continued watching Willow. I can't understand anything there without the subtitles...

      @TroyQwert Год назад

      @@ianhruday9584, well, you mean actors? Characters don't speak. Yea, British actors don't articulate. I have difficulty watching British movies, majority of them. I can't say all Americans articulate. Why is that happening in many languages that they have so many dialects? Russian is spoken by all ppl in the world without any dialects, all 250 mln speak the same language.

    • @ianhruday9584
      @ianhruday9584 Год назад

      @@TroyQwert First, I should say that I am a native English speaker. I was watching this video, because I thought it might apply to my own language learning.
      Wikipedia lists of very large number of Russian dialects. Every language that is spoken by a large number of people will have many dialects and or sociolects.
      British actors enunciate fine, but if you didn't learn British English, you might have trouble with it as a second language learner. I should also say that I intended to say "characters." Many of the actors in the show are Americans, trying (badly) to do various accents found in the UK.

    • @TroyQwert
      @TroyQwert Год назад

      @@ianhruday9584, Wikipedia lists only 3 Russian dialects, but if you know what is it about, it's such minor differences that it's hard to call it dialects. Those dialects are local. But they are easily avoided by the same speaker outside their local community. These dialects are disappearing.
      There are roughly 30 major dialects in America.

    English has many different accents and dialects, The vowel sounds differ from place to place. If you didn't learn the British accent, Naturally, Understanding a British is gonna be harder compared to the accent you're used to, But let's not generalize in the UK there a lot of accents too, Not just one standard version. Here in the US I noticed some people pronounce the word HEALTHY and HEAD without the H so they say ELTHY, EAD. I'm trying to boil it down and it's not possible but in a nutshell because of different accents in the English language it makes hard to understand some people
