I feel sorry for Zarok. The guy worked for centuries to take over Gallowmere, only to be beaten in less than an hour by a jumping skeleton.

loved it back then. it took me idk a s*itton of hours to beat this game as a kid. died over and over again and you're using the perfect items followed by skipping half of the game by jumping of the edge and holding circle+left. ARGH
This remaster is terrible
This game has a special place in my heart as the hidden gem of PS1, truly astounding masterpiece. But I was still pleasantly suprised, that what kind of bugs and glitches the game has and that people manage to find those. Great run, enjoyed a lot. :)

Guess what bro ? A remaster is coming ! I just hope it's a royal remaster and not the remaster of the already remastered psp version lol it was utter trash the psp version
Omg.. you made me feel like I played this game wrong my whole life Lol. The amount of glitches were definitely eye opening.

One of, if not the best games they ever made for the Playstation. I loved this game so much.
I forgot how good the soundtrack was.
ULTRA EFFECTS it is amazing. Just a few notes and you immediately remember the feeling of the game, you need only to close your eyes and let it carry you to Gallowmere. Most games today have epic soundtracks, but something as magical as medievil's cannot be matched. I cannot find words to describe it other than magic

I love this game. Played it since I was a little young kid. But that glass demon always scared the shit out of me. I could never get past it. And even the face on the floor scared me. Thank you for living my childhood.
You know what scared me in this game ? The gallow gauntlets level, it was so creepy lool also those lil girls with the axe in the village lol i swear

aww really? for some reason I thought the Glass Demon was incredibly kool. even today it's one of my most favourite boss/creature design of all times
Lady Redfield as a kid he was one of my favorites too! I loved this game, though I wasn’t very good at it, and would usually just watch my aunt play it. This game will always hold a special place in my heart

MediEvil was like a progenitor to the souls genre. All the metroidvania elements are there coupled with the 3rd person melee combat.
That being said, the Pumpkin level is one of my first gaming memories. Good stuff.

Well, technically the ancestor of Souls games were King's Field 1-4 and Shadow Tower, especially Shadow Tower Abyss.

@@MEGABUMSTENCH I am saying the Souls atmosphere and metroidvania elements existed since 1994 with King's Field 1 and was built upon from there with said games. They probably had no influence from the medievil games.

I keep asking myself how do people find out about glitches like falling down a black hole and instant to the next level.
i don't know how the inventory glitch was found but going to the exit while falling is trial and error

It is truly incredible, especially the level zip glitch, if I remember correctly there is only a 1-frame window to enter the weapon menu to fall past the death trigger.

I have just beaten this game today and I was curious to see a speedrun of it. I am glad to say that the run was a joy to watch, this game really deserves it!
The labyrinth skip in particular seems really difficult to perform consistently, you could say Daniel came up with a very ingenious way to solve the maze lol

In all my years of gaming... I have never and I mean NEVER... seen a speed run quite like that. Forget Woden The Mighty, Stanyer Ironhewer, Bloodmonath Skull- Cleaver and the rest... YOU belong in the Hall of Heroes, not them. 👍

Even though I get it for the point of the speed run, the glitches kinda take away from the overall game. It should be how fast you can get through it without the glitch. Skipping unnecessary enemies and such. Jumping past doors and such is fine but skipping whole lvls is almost cheating. But in the end it doesn't really matter

Jeez, it's ridiculous what you can get away with by jumping in the right place.
The Enchanted Earth skip is super interesting to me, since playing casually I try to do the Pumpkin Serpent and Asylum first so I don't have to backtrack any. I imagine that failing the skip ruins the run more than the rest because you'd have the fight the boss with just the arm and daggers, and IIRC that's not actually feasible, at least without taking forever.
EDIT: The longer I watch, the more inadequate I feel. I thought I was good at this game.

I only played the demo when I was a kid, I would be too scared to leave the crypt and only watched the cinematic and my brother play.
So being able to skip the Gallows Gaunlet would eliminate the need to collect any of the dragon gems. Interesting. Is a skip possible?
that's right. potentially it could be done. the possible ways of doing it would be:
#1. clip through the gate to get the star rune and clip back out
#2. clip past the dragonfire gate, (already been done), then find a way to clip back out
#3. get past the exit gate somehow
do you play this at all? we're really close to being able to skip it. if we could get a bit more height with a jump somehow we can do #3 guaranteed
I play it casually. Never attempted a speedrun. If option #2 has already been done then what's the problem? Or is it a TAS strat only?

It took me weeks to beat this game when i was 7 years old back when this came out, i would spend hours and hous in gallowmere loving every second of it. So fun to see all the places again.

+Pretydeath once you fall far enough under the level you'll continue falling from the top so i land myself at the exit
+Pretydeath By using inventory bug (pressing select to open inventory just after jump off an edge) which in this case enables u to noclip through the map without dying. So he basically noclips to the exit and skips everything else in that level.
