I am disturbed by the fact that the men/boys are also not protected by the law in Nigeria. There is also assault done to boys, because it is done from the back side. The offence of r**e should also be broad and applicable to boys as well. I am a woman, and support justice for all, because we also have vulnerable boys, just like women and girls are vulnerable in society.

I’ve seen a man that was drugged by a woman and nothing happened, that was very unfair

Neze, thanks once again! We have just had our first similar case in 25 years which has just been sentenced to almost 6 years. His was against a sex worker and also decided to take it off part way through. Two lives completely ruined over a few minutes’ gratification.
Re. Cucumber cooperating, that is just a biological response in the same way that a woman who is being raded can even ’arrive’. The main issue is consent, if a person (woman or man) says no then it's exactly that. A lot of men have been raded by having their drink/food spiked etc, but they're forced to keep quiet and live with the trauma bc of such laws and opinions. Additionally, men can be raded by other men. Hopefully, they will reconsider that law and what it means to male victims.

We must stop the culture of spousal duress. If a woman doesn't want to have sex with her partner/husband and he forces himself on her, that in my eye constitutes as "radis". There are too many women suffering in silence and are deterred from coming forward because of victim shaming and fear of being ostracised by their communities. As a mother with daughters this information is very importnat. Just as much as it is for mothers with sons. Bottom line, preventable actions comes with knowledge. Obrigada Neze!

@@AFRICA.GOT.IT247I doubt marriage means automatic consent in the court because I have seen a man accused of being raped by his wife and she won the case with him suffering the consequences. He tried to defend himself based on bible instructions about sex in marriage but that didn't hold ground.Infact he was so sure the case would be thrown out as he was like..." how can my wife say I raped her...my wife????". So I don't think what the bible says in 1st Cor 7:3-4 holds in court.....I stand to be corrected. In all of these let's also remember verse 5 mentions "mutual consent". Would be worth verifying so married people are guided.

Am a medical practitioner and Yes a man can be raided without being a partaker and interested in the act, biologically, the male organ will not ONLY necessarily be aroused when a man is interested in the act, the male organ is aroused when it is stroked and blood rushes down there making it erect, that is why even a comatose man in the hospital gets erect sometimes when they are totally unconscious and about to receive a foley catheter. The law needs to be changed in that regard, I have seen several men in my medical profession get aroused for medical procedures because their male organ was touched and blood rushed down there and NO they were not even physically there to say they enjoyed it

    • @priscillianzerem5827
      @priscillianzerem5827 Месяц назад

True. Some females feel ashamed to report raid because they feel shame having climaxed during the unwanted act, meanwhile it was an involuntary response based on the natural bodily physiological response. The trap men who get raided fall in to is that instead of thinking with their heads above and putting a stop the to unwanted invasion, they think with thier heads below and tolerate the act.

Education of our men is key. They are often led to believe in our Nigerian society to be above the law. The Nigerian law should include the addition of rade for homosexuels as it is highly practiced in Nigerian, particularly in the North, prisons, child abuse by clerics, leaving the victims of these abominable acts helpless and completely destroyed. psychologically. I know that this is a very sensitive subject due to religious believes, but, it does not mean that act does not exist. Denial means that victims are not able to seek justice.

If we consider brushing as constituting rade when it is done nonconsensually then it can be argued that a man can also be raded since he doesn't need to be on erection before he can be forcefully brushed by a woman. By this understanding I believe your notion of why a man can not be raded is defeated

Great content always Nezeville… A man can be raid. It happened to me in 2018 .
We once had a wedding where I was one of the groomsmen and just on the night after the wedding everybody was asleep in the house scattered around the 3 bedroom flat , some on the floor, and in the middle of the night I woke up to see this girl (came all the way from the east as one of the bride’s maid) sitting on me and performing “C*W girl” style while I laid upward.
Apparently she saw my morning wood and just started the act . I woke up to see this but couldn’t resist because I was already inside ….It was a weak moment for me and late to resist . If I had screamed maybe she will turn the table ;that I was the person trying to raid her, so I was just still and allowed her finish. Can’t this be classified as raid as I didn’t consent?
I was surprise in the morning as she was acting normal like nothing happened and she travelled back without discussing the incident.
I got myself tested and took further medications because I don’t know here plans.
Note: I didn’t lead her on during the ceremony apart from normal chatting here and there as anyone would do in such setting.

i'm sorry about your experience but why couldn't you shout for help or try to get away from the scene?
push her away? raise your voice?
why did you just lay mute in the act while you got raided?

I am so sorry that this happened to you🥺💔. Whats also sad is that the comments above is dismissive of your experience just because you are a man. Yet if the perpetrator was a male doing the same bloody murder would have been the outcry.
Stay strong King, keep speaking your story❤. I believe you❤.

Im sorry you had that awfull experience. Keep strong and sharing your story. Of course you will have to survive the ignorant people who will ask the same idiot questios: why didnt you cry for help or push her away. But its known that people and certain circumstances can either fight back, freeze or flight. You froze and that is a common response and there is nothing to be ashamed of. (sorry for my broken english. Iam a portuguese speaking person)

Sorry about your experience. People sometimes don’t realize the shock that comes with such experience because of how we dismiss what men go through. Stay strong. May God perfect your healing.

Neze, what if initially the lady vehemently did not consent but later coperated as the man continued the act, is that scenario raid?

It's a pity that when it comes to male rade, the society laughs and makes fun of the victim implying he enjoyed it. The lack of sensitivity and ignorance is so evident even in this comment section. Imagine complaining of being rade as a man and people are saying, why didn't you shout or stop her? If she flips the coin that he was the one rading her, the society will definitely believe the woman. A lot of men go silent even young male children because of the way the society treats male victims of rade. Our laws need to be reviewed and made inclusive so that our males children and men do not continue to be victims of rade. They are human beings too.

Nice piece and highly educative. My humble contribution is to the fact that men can be rude as well. Take a situation where a guy is caught in the midst of three to four ladies and all taking turns without his consent. He would insist to have it with one but could be under durex to satisfy the other maybe at gun point or threatening of any kind. Shouldn't that be termed rade, regardless of the joystick being erect?

Hi Barrister Nezeville ❤ from Uganda...i wrote my Dissertation examing how the Rade law in Uganda is gender discriminative....yes men can be raded because a man can actually be coerced to get an erection..
Also in the Ugandan Jurisdiction since we apply common law too... people are beginning to pursue Marital rade though unpopular...
Keep up with the good work❤

Men can be "raded" through the "backway" by their fellow men. Also, if you go down on a man while he's unconscious that's "rade" as well. Young boys get "raded" everyday.

Neze i honestly love your analysis of situations, but sometimes i think the law is a little harsh on men, we have seen situations were men were rade, but cant come out to explain that this happened to him.
