I was in Chicago a couple of years ago and caught Carl and his band at the Mines. The quality of the performance blew me away, not just Carl but also the guys in his band too, they're all great musicians and as a unit are as good as I've ever seen. It was one of those nights that I will remember as truly special.
If you're thinking of taking in some blues music and you see Carl Weathersby on the lineup, run-don't walk-to Kingston Mines. I was at KM Christmas eve 2012 and Carl and his band put on an awesome show. But then, but then...at around midnight on Christmas day who walks in but Linsey Alexander. He took the stage with Carl and and I can tell you that up to 4AM close, you could not have seen a better venue of the best Blues in Chicago.
