You're a great tour guide!
The slipping and almost dying comments at the beginning killed me 🤣

I miss the good times when every Aqua Co-Op video was like this + 2 times longer..
And that is why I quarantine goldfish for 3 months.
Years ago I had a 70 gallon tank with a hundred or so neons - it was magical. I need to recreate that - would be awesome.
Solo Randy video? What a treat! The Aquarist Podcast video/on-the-road edition haha
I really enjoy seeing Randy in videos you guys should definitely have him on the channel more!
He's busy keeping operations going. :D If you haven't listened to his podcast, the aquarist podcast, its great and he's had a lot of really cool guests.
That sound was driving me crazy
At least you didn’t have to edit with it 😂 and the raw audio was worse. I’m sure that air system was cranked up in the heat.
Cool to see Randy in this video. Love to see the different types of fish farms.
Those goldfish are incredible!
Almost no filtration at all in the majority of these tanks.
I can only imagine the impact long term, especially given the number of fish involved.
I appreciate Randy's comment at the end, "we gotta get them some coop sponges."
Looks like their fish are doing fine -- those neons are some of the healthiest I've ever seen, and huge quantities at that! Maybe there's something to learn about keeping your tanks "dirty" water -- there's a whole bacterial biofilm colony likely coating all the surfaces in each tank, which seems to be doing the job just fine.
the fish will be fine. they probably eat a diet of 80% antibiotics
everything looks healthy, its probably river water full of tannins, they may be doing continuous water changes via natural river etc, how many fish in nature live in crystal clear water? water clarity doesn't equal quality or cleanliness
The water change equipment was all dry, and it's super humid there. So they definitely aren't doing a flow through system.
Pretty cool, and yes whenever I have visited a fish farm in Florida I am way more into the ditch drains and see what's living there.
This is so awesome!! Thanks for sharing Randy!!
A Randy video?!?! What a great surprise!
Awesome fish! Huge place.
👍😎 Schooling goldfish, who woulda thought?
We need more randy videos
Loved that shot of the goldfish schooling.
Awesome video!!!
Amazing statue at the start. And to dog ❤️
This was so cool!❤💯🤙🏼
Now i want more neon tetras for my school! Also, please be safe while you are there.
Looking at the eggs on the wall above your snail, I'd say it's Pomacea Canaliculata. It was introduced to Asia from South America and is considered an invasive pest because it will eat rice seedlings. In Thailand it's called cherry snail because of the eggs and it's quite a meaty snail so eaten quite widely, especially in the north-east.
Yeah, it's an apple snail. Those guys are crawling ecological disasters in Asia.
They probably don't use filtration because it's easier to change the water every few days... or those were the tanks that were used for showing to buyers, ie temporary storage. They seem to prefer to keep them in cheaper, non-glass containers.
Awesome video, and fish farm.
Very nice to see him in a video. I hope surgery was done stateside.
I love this video and can't forget about those vintage fishtanks, hoping they'll return someday.
Very nice people.good looking fish
Wow those goldfish! Definitely the visions Luke has 😍
Been waiting for new content :) Cheer!
We ❤ Randy!!!!!
Neon Madness!
Excellent!!!
Great video!
wow amazing beautiful
Thanks for that very interesting tour.
Looks amazing. Like the profile picture
So many neon tetras!
Good job friends...👍
Wow! Those Goldfish were amazing!!
Flip flops at fish farm in China… doooood 😅
Excuse my ignorance, I just started following this page about a month ago and don’t get me wrong the content is GREAT, why is it always new people in the videos?
Randy isn’t new, he just isn’t on camera very often. We all operate as a team here at Aquarium Co-Op 😊
Do any of these fish get shipped to the USA? Awesome video!
I would guess no. I believe it's very expensive and rare to see Chinese fish brought into the US. Maybe only high-end goldfish.
I certainly hope not. That place was absolutely disgusting.
Cool video
what was the temp of the water in those giant outdoor ponds?
I am so envious!!!!
I was supposed to be able to take a high school trip to China, but unrest that led to the uprising in 1989 (after graduation) cancelled the trip.
Randy, did you learn any Mandarin, Cantonese or Huananese on the trip?
6:56 that doesn't look like my water hyacinth at all 🧐
I would love to know what that was, looks like it must be incredibly efficient at removing waste....
@@Lazy_Fish_Keeper That's definitely water hyacinth, sure you're not confusing the name with something else?
@@julianaquascaped it's definitely a possibility.
Water hyacinth has the purple flower stalks, right 🪻?
pothos plant?
@@Lazy_Fish_Keeper when they’re in bloom they do
Nice bisniss❤❤
The Aquarist!
That fat goldfish's name is called NEMO!!!
This video puts everything you've ever learnt about over stocking a tank! its all in the head! 100k fish in a tank must be like 3 arowanas in 1 tank! i know everything is thinking *what about the Ammonia levels* ammonia does not happen in china lol
These types of fish farms do frequent water changes to balance out the large number of fish in each tank/vat.
@@nirvanaquatics oh i know mate i'm a professional breeder i also have fishkeeping channel to i've studied guppies since 2016 and breed them myself with over 500 in a 55 litre tank of all ages .... 8 month old tank =p aslong as you study the science behind keeping fish alive anything is possible ay =D
Wow
Randy, did you eat any ChangFen in GuangZhou?
sadly no. Next time! 😋
@@aquaristpodcast dang, that’s like not eating tacos in Mexico City.
Loved watching this video....and without looking beforehand....I immediately sensed that the comment section would reveal a tale of two aquarists "distinct way of thinking". I'm a pretty messy fish tank guy.......not unlike these Chinese fish farmers. I'm not a big fan of constant water changes, constant substrate vacuuming, water parameter testing, or algae scraping. Other folks prefer to fuss a bit more in their fish hobby or projects. My current 55 gallon is home ONLY to the entire lot of Betta Splendens that resulted from an unplanned random egg nest guarded by a 3 dollar Petco blue male from eggs he fertilized that were produced by a 3 dollar Petco red female. Months and months later....there are now 78 adult fish from that single bubble nest in this hornwort addled 55 gallon tank. There is NO FIGHTING....and the tank is a wonderful mess. The fish at that farm in China seemed and appeared healthy...and messiness was in abundance...lol. I must say this though. If that big a$$ spider so much as dared try to lurk in or around my tank, after my initial revulsion reaction...it would be immediately extricated and either moved to the woods outside my property...OR dealt with accordingly depending on how it "behaved". Big spiders "at face level" that can "jump"...and that one most assuredly was capable of doing just that ...well it's in their best long term interest to keep ALL 8 legs on the glass until my dip net swoops in. Again great video Randy. More messy fish place videos please....
anyone know if the coop dual air pump get louder if you only use one of the outputs? I don't always need 2 air out puts.
Any dual outlet pump will be louder with only one outlet in use. Having airline hooked up to the outlet acts like a muffler.
The dual outlet air pump is designed to power 2 air stones/sponge filters. Using only one outlet will reduce the functionality and make the pump louder. We would recommend choosing the single outlet air pump if you only plan to use one outlet.
High pitched noises in background were bad 👿
Randy ur fine
That goldfish looked extremely unhealthy in term of anatomy.
So sad
So does no one hear that god awful noise in the background? Surely that's not pump motors.
It’s the air circulation fans, I think.
The way Randy pronounced lychee REALLY bothered me lol
First
Never agreed with fish farming on this level, no wonder so many fish have problems. I would rather pay more for higher quality, better cared for fish.
But how do you know that the fish you have paid a premium for, hasn't come from a farm such as this?
Trouble is, we do not know. It is allabout making money and fast turnover. Most fish lovers would rather pay a little more for healthier fish.@@sandanista2002
@@JJLewin1 I know the bigger the farm the less quality the fish will be
this is why so many fish die before we get them. and die soon after. I get this is how they make money. but this makes me cry😢
Totally have nothing to do with it being a long journey from the fish farm to the pet store.
I would rather you supported Taiwanese fish farms rather than Chinese
Dont like it. Dirty and monster goldfish.
Nitrates? What is that?
