All the greats were made in the 60's 😀 Kids today are lucky to have RUclips creators like you. They can find their dream, learn how to do it and live it. The young me would have loved these in the late 80's 🙂 Keep up the great work!
I'd say, in regards to Travco, the best ones came out mid-'72 up. Why? Before the production change, the brakes were vacuum drums and the wheel wells were very low- if you have to pull a wheel, you have to jack the body enough to drop the tire below the wheel arch. Mid-'72, they went to hydro-boost, front discs and fully-opened the wheel wells. Not to mention, they headlights were relocated lower so not only do you not blind oncoming cars as easy, but lights the road better. The mid-'72 up chassis also easily can swallow a 6BT, you just oval the driver's side crossmember mount and an Allison OD transmission (with the parking brake on the tail shaft) is right there.
I’m looking for a Travco. I’m a retired nurse and want to hit the road. This is a beautiful retro. Your friend quite talented. I’ll keep looking but I don’t think I’ll find anything like this. Thx for the tour.
He’s so funny and a very talented builder. I’m always amazed at how people customize their homes. You included. I’m always reading comments on vlogs from people asking what they should do with their builds. They don’t seem to realize they have to build to their needs and lifestyle not someone else’s. Always take away ideas but build for yourself. Always nice to see your smile. Hug Akela for me. Cheers from Canader eh!
I love these vintage campers! In 2003 I bough a used travel trailer, rebuild everything, inside and out. I enjoy the process and use the trailer for 6 years before selling it.
Nice , love the unusual and uncommon especially in an age where it seems that everywhere you look car , trucks and van manufacturers seem to go out of their way to produce vehicles that look like their competitors . I'm a fan of Art Deco and the Steampunk look too . He's done a nice job , I can imagine his rig parked outside a 50s - 60s style Diner . 🤗
Nice! I wonder why it has those handles on the front? I considered adding some to a vehicle once... for the winter and ice and snow. Something to hold onto walking around the vehicle
a super great build-redo/an a cumming diesel engine/have some fun-an slow around some vehicles on highway-with all that power/sweet sweet/a high quality build-professional/that thing should last forever/thanks much
I have a Travco on a property that I bought. It's in rough condition but the glass is good in it. Uncertain on motor/trans. Tires are up. Looking for someone that needs one for parts. Free to anyone that will pay to haul it off. Located in Oklahoma
Beautiful looking Travco. Most of my favourite vehicles were offered during the 1950s through the 70s. 🙂

I agree. I'm not a fan of what's currently being offered. Some of today's technology I appreciate, but there are others I'd gladly do without.

It would be interesting to see the underside up on a rack, what kind of suspension and engine used on the bus. Great video.
That was a cool build. Must be nice getting to meet all these interesting people and seeing all these places.
