Thank you for the sunny account of your fun outdoor workouts and showering! We also exercise a lot outside, are avid hikers and camp for weeks and weekends in PA. You did an awesome job using the dumbbell as a kettlebell. Please consider making a future video of a full 30-60 minute outdoor workout, using your equipment and whatever nature that happens to be near, such as rocks and stumps. That would be so cool to workout along with you outside on our mountaintop!
Thanks. That was helpful. Good to see that that will work. I am drawing out a roughish lay out. Drew in a wet bath/ toilet space and tried imagining how I’d use it when even the smallest composting toilet would take up all the space. Not really much better than a sponge bath. Want a toilet but think that the way you bath is so much better. That tent is awesome good. Just the exercise of thinking about what you’d want in a van makes a person think a lot about what is important for them and how to fit them in. Good to have ideas of how other people have dealt with those questions.
Great video girl! Outdoors is a great way to take a shower and your right on how close you get to nature, it's natural! Lakes and rivers if clean too !!! Much love from Texas ❤
Omg! I love watching your blogs. You are such a great inspiration to just go out there and enjoy life. Thank you for sharing your van build and your journey. 💕
I loved this video!! Your simplicity is what draws you and your love of who you are and doing it your way!!! I have worked out since forever and now too do not go to a gym😊 Thanks again😊❤️
'My vans really small' 😅 I have a Mitsubishi Express, I do believe mines smaller..... am loving watching a fellow chick do DIY and digging your sense of humour and antics
Thanks again it's always good to get in information I'm just about ready to be almost have my rig done so all the information I can get from you and other people really helps out got a great blog and I appreciate everything you do be safe out there and take care of that cute puppy 🙂
That's about how I'd do it. No gym membership (well maybe if I practically lived in the city I would). Sponge bathe mostly and then sometimes do a shower in similar style to you. Have a good one
I got so excited when I saw that tent! Lol, that is the exact same tent that I bought to shower and poop in when I went into long field training exercises in the Army. Initially the guys made fun of me for needing to shower in the wild, but they came crawling over when I let them poop in it lol If the ground is too hard to stake into, you could also get some paracord (or any string) and tie it to a rock, etc
Get video. I find exercise essential on the road. Especially important to stay fit for those long hikes. I just got an inflatable SUP and love, love, love my on-the-water yoga. Not much opportunity for that in the dessert, I suppose. I prefer bands over weights because of the weight in the rig. Thank for the Get Fit Guide. Looking forward to giving it a try. Keep the vids coming, L&A. Peace.
Looking good out there!!! I just wanna put it out there that I use to go to Linnea Crossfit classes and she is a total badass and really knows her shit!! Her guide will be totally worth it!!
I too carry my weights and I also use the TRX system off my roof rack. It’s 10x more fun working out outside. My shower system is a tiny bit more involved than yours, but not by a lot. I have enjoyed your videos so much, thanks for sharing your great ideas! 🙂
Hi... I just recently found you.. so I have been kind of trying to keep up with your current videos, while going back and playing catch-up. I would love your Get Fit Anywhere Guide, but the link is no longer active... any chance I can still get it?
Have you been to Joshua Tree National Park? I've been there a few times and the blanket of stars at night is glorious? My son and I will purposely go after 10pm and just lay down and stare up in awe. Another great video, be well!
You seem so lovely! Thanks for the insight into your van life, I am in the process of converting my own van now, and def considering shower vs not! Seems difficult and more time requiring to build a shower inside the van so this would be a good option. Also, love just washing up in rivers and the ocean.
As always, I get excited when you post a video. Thank you for sharing your life with us *heart* My question-how do you store your shampoo/conditioner bars after you shower?
Thank u for the shower My biggest concern is water, how to wash my hair. You could wash with such a small bag of water (plus a tiny kettle) is amazing. Gotta try it out some time.
That’s a lot of weight to carry around in a van. Have you considered exercise bands? My wife and I have not yet hit the road as we are still building but we will be taking some pretty heavy duty bands which are relatively lightweight and easy to store.
@@Linneaandakela my wife and I bought a high roof Chevy Express 2500! Going to throw something together quick to just get out on the road with our 6 puppy babies! We are planning a more extensive build and going to do a channel at some point....maybe lol we love you do! There is no handbook to this lifestyle do what feels right for you!!
Cool. I use the same shower tent (wolfwise), but I use the geyser shower. Thanks for the info on conditioning bars. Didn’t know they existed. All the best: Always!
I love how you live your life. Do you ever get nervous that someone may be out there where you are? I plan on doing the van life living once I retire. Maybe early retirement in 10 years. The icky thing I am nervous about is being alone and having to worry about someone creeping in on me.
it's so hard to have a very low carbon footprint these days, so I try the best I can without sacrificing too much of comfort, security, necessities (do what we can approach). I think this is your first video without akela as the main star. 😀 just so you know, if you have the sun (or anything bright) behind you or a light source inside, your silhouette will be pretty clear inside most shower tents and also night vision goggles.
I've only been following you for about a month. And I didn't see how you built your home. Could you go through it again ? I love your videos, look forward to them.❤
Do you still shower like this i would love to see your current routine! it helps me and my husband so much since we are new to vanlife. Thank you for this beautiful video!
Do you just have the two ceiling vent fans for cooling? Is that enough for the hot desert? I just started watching RUclips videos and getting ideas. LOVE yours!
Hi Linnea! It was nice seeing you enjoying your day in the sunshine! I followed the link to your guide. Im wishing for more info about it. Is it a video guide? A book? A booklet? Is it for absolute beginners? Is it for people who have had a few classes and just want to shift outside the gym? Do you need equipment to get started or to use all your guidance or just some of it or none of it? What forms of payment are you accepting and is it secure? I’m excited for you getting a product out like this to build your business!
Great topics! Nice clear demo of tent stowing was much appreciated. Thank you also for the sweet dose of Akela, aka. your excellent dog-pillow. I wish I could afford your fitness guide but Covid-19 shrank the budget for a while. For future reference, does the guide have detailed explainations of the exercises referenced in the plans? Might want to add screenshot of that to website. Am working towards Patreon.

My son has offered to build me an outdoor shower, they are becoming really popular here in Florida. I would prefer to have one with a van and adventure out across America. Age and health kind of prevents that though, so I live vicariously through your videos and others. Be well and enjoy the forests. You might "catch dinner"?? Is there a fly rod in your future??
Am building out my van and so profited from your electrical step by steps. Could i ask where you got the aluminum floor edging that goes between house and cabin and other edges. Having a meltdown trying to find the right stuff?
Hiya. Just wanted to give a quick PSA on river washing. Biodegradeable is mostly ok on earth as long as it's about 200 feet from water. Digging a whole is even better. It does pollute water sources though so always wash any soap off away from the water source
The EPA guideline, is for 1 ounce of biodegradeable soap to be diluted by at least 156 gallons of water to be safe for fish. In a flowing river, that 1 ounce will be diluted in over 1,000 gallons within about 2 minutes, or over 9 times the requirement. Any person using a reasonable amount of biodegradeable soap should have no concerns in a flowing stream or river. We have way worse corporate polluters to be worrying about.
@@brianmi40 It is not only about being harmful for water animal, but its also bringing in nutrients that change the ecosystem. One wash does not change the ecosystem, but it adds up.
@@laululla We can ask no more than to follow the guideline. That's why we develop them. No one can know about "others". I stand by my statement. In even a mid-sized river of decent flow, it would take hundreds washing simultaneously to risk surpassing the EPA guideline.
@@brianmi40 In my country we have different guidelines and it is to keep all unnesessary human/farming-produced organic material out of natural water. It used to be common to use rivers and lakes as sewages, but as we have changed our habits water quality has improved alot.
what shampoo and soap bars are those? My son 33 lives minimalistic and eats tail to snout. I can relate to your lifestyle. He believes in the cold shower idea
Do you find using conditioner bars hard to actually get your hair condition? I feel like it was taking longer for me when I used my conditioner and it wasn’t working well. Lol
