Mr Mahajan has done the Indian upper middle class great service by bringing out the sad story of under trials in Indian jails. He has shown that no matter your title the Indian society’s ‘look down, shoot down’ approach towards anyone who has anything to do with the police. All the whispers in the colony and the family and all the denials of opportunity are the ground level form of oppression that a so-called liberal society tends to subject people who they consider ‘failures’.
