  • For the souls of Palestinians and Lebanese who were martyred by the Israeli occupation genocides since 1948.
This piece was written as a response and to raise awareness about the ongoing genocides led by the Israeli occupation in Palestine and Lebanon since 1948, especially after 7 October 2023.
You will hear in the background the military Israeli drone's sound which we heard 24/24 waiting for an opportunity to target innocent civilians, mainly Palestinian children while playing football on the street, going to school, or just running after their martyred families under the bombardment of the IDF.
Israeli occupation didn't stop at the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and Lebanese and stealing the land but was putting a huge effort into erasing the Palestinian and Lebanese culture including music, food, language, and costumes...
In response to that, I used in this piece two traditional Palestinian songs as a base for the two first part of the piece:
1- NAYYALAK MAHDA BALAk [نيّالك ما اهدى بالك]
    2- YA SEJJANI [يا سجّاني]
the last part is built on a verse from the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich "كانت تسمّى فلسطين، صارت تسمّى فلسطين" which translate to " It was named Palestine, Now it names Palestine" stating that no matter the occupation will exercise terrors and oppression and genocides, Palestine will live forever. Occupation is a temporary period that will end, and the people will be free again.
At the end of the piece, the musicians were asked to dance a Dabkah [دبكة], a traditional Palestinian/ Lebanese dance that symbolizes the unity of the people.
    Free Palestine, Free Lebanon
