  • I worked a lot digitally this week, mostly with video tutorials by David Revoy ( / @davidrevoy ) in which he colours characters from grayscale. It was new to me, so it was a chance to practice values with grayscale, colors and also digital painting skills. I also worked with the gamut masks again, which is quite a useful tool.
The Characters from this thumbnail (also shown in this video) were created by David Revoy, I changed the colors of the female character for the thumbnail and for my practice in the video.

I just discovered your channel. I was finding it difficult to navigate Alex's curriculum (on the cheap/free) because so many teachers and mentors jump around from this to that skill or technique, so I went looking on YT to see who is following it and how it's coming along. I must say that I'm really impressed with your journey. I've only watched a couple of your first videos so far, but your progress is giving me so much hope! Congratulations, and keep up the amazing work!

Thank you very much for your comment! I have mostly worked with free resources with the curriculum. I have got a few books and one paid course so far, but most of the work I have done was following free content and taking advantage of free trial periods - so, yes, progress can be achieved on the cheap. I am glad to hear my progress has motivated you, I hope you have a wonderful time in your journey.
