it is really a BL according to the author of the novel himself. The production just made it not too mainstream since both Jinyoung and Ji Sung are well known actors and Ji Sung happens to be already married and have 2 children.
Episode 4: For someone who’s suppose to be this master mind, Why leave Kim Gu-on? someone you know don’t care for you in your house to snoop around intruding on your personal life that you have always guarded. I guess Yo-han was unaware the women living there would have diarrhea at the mouth anxious to tell a stranger his entire life history. I get the writers figured this would be the only way for Ga-on to learn anything about Yo-han. But it makes me dislike Ga-on’s deceitful character even more.
