I went to tiki ti for the first time a few months ago. Man, they serve some high horsepower concoctions. I didn't have to give up my seat, but it was interesting to me that they allow the regulars to bring their own personal tiki mugs that are stored behind the bar and the regular's drink can be served in those mugs.

Tiki Ti is a marvelous bar. As one would expect, it's had its ups and downs over the years but it has always been a groovy place to hang out. Very nice video...thanks!

Made one tonight. It is a HUGE amount of cocktail. Haha but you hit the nail on the head when you said that it masks the alcohol flavor. It’s super tasty tho. It’s a good use of passion fruit syrup which is a flavor I enjoy but it tends to dominate the profile in a lot of drinks.

If you go to the Tiki-Ti and ask what is in a Ray's Mistake, they will tell you it is made with Rum, Gin, Passion Fruit Juice, Lime and their own secret flavoring. And that is all they will say. As a regular patron of the Tiki-Ti for more than 20 years, no one but the Buhen's knows exactly what is in the Ray's Mistake. People have been trying to figure it out since it was invented in 1968. I know one regular that dug through their trash bin to try to figure it out, but no luck. So if you want a Ray's Mistake you have to go there and order one. Hint: It's a little less crowed on Thursdays.

When were not living in lockdown hell Tiki Ti is one of my main bars. Puka Punch is once of my favorites(and no i wont be making this drink, thats alot of ingredients :D), And no the stool thing isnt true. Even Jim stands sometimes and he has a drink on the (massive) menu. And yes i enjoy 2 of them...clawing your way back home is not inaccurate.
Surprised you didnt talk about the frankly insane menu they have or how the bartenders at Tiki TI work. Those guys are (and no offense to you man) the hardest working bartenders in LA.
