These ladies are greatly talented, beautiful, charming and cultivated. They are classy yet relatable. I think the Filipino audience is very discerning of vocal talents. We appreciate good dancers, but great vocals is more stirring for us. We are thus highly impressed when artists have both talents. I also think that while many are also followers of foreign pops, we prefer our own Filipino artists to be not fabricated so much as business products. We value filipino artists who remain authentic to themselves, to their own creativity. That's why SB19 is adored because they project their own artistry, composing their own songs, doing their own choreography, directing and producing their MVs and concerts. Ben and Ben is another such highly respected filipino artists. And so is KZ Tandingan who you've mentioned in this video. You'll discover many more outstanding talents when you visit us. And yes, Lucas, you're prediction could be right. They will invite you to jam with them because it's cultural and it's the best way to establish rapport. And also you being in the music business, it could also be their way of measuring up your craft level. But seeing Josh's confidence, I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors! By the way If you love harmony you should listen to 4th impact, the queens of harmony.
That's true I also think the Filipino language is versatile because it is more forgiving on enunciation & articulation, the words can still be understood as long as you pronounce the vowels correctly. Unlike other neighboring countries like Vietnam, Thailand the words can easily change/lose its meaning if you don't use the correct articulators, and correct intonation. That's just my observation from living in Thailand & Vietnam
True. Well, back in the day when people were using baybayin, there were only 3 vowels a, i/e, o/u. Kaya siguro ang dali lang kahit ngayon saten mag interchange ng vowel sounds. Hindi/hinde, naten/natin, video/vedio. LMAO.
aside from the tropical air, one factor is the language , Filipino as our national language is composed basically of Tagalog, Bisaya, Spanish and English, thus comes the versatile in terms of tongue muscle memory - plus Tagalog as other OPERA singers would describe as a dream language of singer, because of the vowel placement not to mentioned that we are use to sing sitting down, thus controlling air from the diaphragm to the lungs
Ahh, been waiting for this reaction. I only stan SB19, but since you reacted on G22, I got so into Bang and this song. It's freakin' addictive. Love them!
G22 is honestly superior. They're literally the whole package. They just really need more consistent promotion (like with other ppop groups). I hope they will be more well-known in the near future.
The Phillipines has a vocal Avengers, known as Budakhel & Katrina Velarde. Our singers are like the Marvel universe, many characters with different powers, vocal powers😊
I like this comment, very funny but as real as it really is... Josh & Lucas you haven't even scratch the surface of OPM (Original Pilipino Music). I know you are both so busy but hopefully you can react to some OPM too...
I never supported any artist and only stan SB 19, but you're always appreciating our local talents thanks for this. I'll recommend you BUDAKHEL they're great singers also. Try SB 19's " The Making of WYAT" ( please)
I love how you’re fanboying G22 here. You introduced me to G22 then I actually recommended this to you. Enjoyed your reaction! You’re getting used to that intrusive voice which says “wish bus 107.5” but you are still intrigued by the technology behind the production. Did you notice that SB19’s Mapa (which you reacted to) was sang in Wish USA? There seems to be one in LA too!
Thanks for reacting to our artists, they are singing in Tagalog, our national language, rooted in Bahasa the mother language of the Malay race that encompasses Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines (might have missed some countries) Tagalog is the softest and diverse maybe because of our long colonisation by Spain. I am from the Visayas and speak Hiligaynon a dialect, morrisette is from Cebu also in the Visayas that speaks Bisaya. Many of the singers you react to are from different islands in our country. We have more than 7000 islands. Hope you can explore more places when you will be able to visit. Halong and God bless 🙏 ps, cool you noticed the SM 58s 🙂
Love how you're also calling them Female Alphas now! 🥰 They're really stunning with their vocals and how lit they are on the dance floor. Can't wait for your RVs to Defy & Takin' Over. 👍🏻👍🏻
Kindly check out Budakhel ft. Katrina Velarde cover of "One Sweet Day". This will surely amaze you. Another is 4th Impact's "Here We Go" in the Wish Bus. Harmonies of this 4 sister group is fierce! Simply worth watching!
Your reactions to G22 is getting me more excited for you guys to checkout 4th Impact. Really can't wait to watch your reaction and breakdown to their performances. 😁😁
I LOVE LIVE!!! I have to admit that I am thrilled/tickled pink when our artists’ voices and skill freak you out! Haha! A lot of reactors seem to be on auto-amazed mode and they react by mouthing inanities and clichés, so even though we all know our singers are amazing, I’m put off by some reactors’ exagerrated expressions of amazement-if that makes sense (as Josh would say, haha)! Please stay real, GifKidDad. 😊
Try to listen to Moira dela Torre her vocals is so relaxing and captivating as well... very soothing and it's like when you hear her sing it goes through inside your soul...
Can't wait for G22's new song. So excited for this girl group. But also, please check out Arthur Nery's Binhi, Zack Tabudlo's Binibini and Adie and Janine Berdin's Mahika - all on Wish. Just amazing performances.
Please also react to another PPOP girl group called 4th Impact. They joined XFactor UK before and I think they placed 5th? Their audition video, Bang Bang, had one of the show's most views on youtube. Check out their covers - Never Enough, Love the Way You Lie, I'll Be There. They also performed an original song on the Wish Bus called Here We Go. They have amazing harmonies and they are siblings.
I love how you already know their names 🥺 These girls deserve to be known and be heard by more people and your reactions really help. I'm really grateful!
The sound of Tagalog is extremely rhythmic and incredibly dynamic so it can hit hard and melodic at the same time. I hope you get to work with some Filipino artists in the future. PPop is definitely something to watch out for.
Wow! That's interesting! You gonna meet all those P-pop groups if you can make it to the Philippines hopefully! And ofcourse you gonna have more fun in the Philippines! 👏👍👍
Lucas, do you mean DRINKSMOKE? Most songs in FELIP's EP are in English. DRINKSMOKE is pure English. You can take a look at the lyrics in the description of the visualizer or search for them on Google. Hehe. Thanks for reacting to G22! They're my favorite Female PPop group.
In their adlibs towards the end… it’s like they’re just doing a round song… it’s reminiscent on my primary school days when your teacher teaches the whole class singing a round song… usually in 3 groups… fun
I'm a huge fan of these girls. Thanks for reacting to them, Josh and Lucas! I am really hoping to meet you guys in PPopcon... and what's more exciting is we'll see these talented girls on stage LIVE 💕😍 #PPoprise
love this! i'm a Bullet and an A'tin fan 😍 thank you for this reaction. i also hope you react to Philippines "Avengers" BuDaKhel (Bugoy, Daryl, Michael) with Katrina Velarde (Thank God I found you, I'm your Angel, One sweet day) . Have a good day!
You can also check Katrina velarde and budakel they are so good at harmony, runs and the vocal is crazy! One sweet day,you definitely loved it,ty guys 🥰
Philippine Language is Filipino or Tagalog ( they are the same). Also, Filipino can be used for the people as well. The language, Filipino, is very syllabical, that makes almost all Filipinos to adapt easily to speak other languages. However, Philippines is composed if several islands = several provinces = several dialects, there are dialects that sometimes they will pronounce tagalog or english in an accent, but since Filipinos love to watch TV and listen to music a lot plus the fact that our mode of education in school from prep, kindergarted, elementary, high school to college, is in english, the pronunciation is improved🤗
honestly,Babalik reminds me of the OPM ballads from long time ago that was sung by Filipino alto singers which is a bit sensual and also cringey for awhile. But I was very amazed how G22 did it. It must be the harmonies or something contemporary to it that sounds not cringey and beautiful at all. Like what Lucas said. The language sounds beautiful with this song.
Love G22 Babalik live. It sounds even better than rhe MB. They are fierce and talented. Total package: vocals, visuals and moves. All can rap too and all have low deep tones too with 2 with high notes. Love your reaction. React next to Boomerang and Bang dance practice. Also Defy, Loka. Taking over and Musika. Thanks
Woah my top ppop girl group! There's another artist named Arthur Nery that could give you that same "soothing" song. You may want to check him out singing "Pagsamo" during Wish Awards.
Came back after your interview with G22. I hope you did ask them to do that specific part or 'Yeahhhh'. Can't wait for the interview to come out in this channel. 🇵🇭
HI GUYS :) YES THEY’RE REALLY MONSTERS! GLAD YOU LIKED THEM AS WELL! BUT ASIDE FROM THE VOCALS, THEY TOO ARE GOOD DANCERS. YOU CAN WATCH THE BANG PERFORMANCE VIDEO UPLOADED ON THEIR CHANNEL
Speaking of Wish Bus, they're now in South Korea and it would be interesting to know how it compares to the ones here and in the US. About G22's vocal prowess, great commentary, as always.
I see that you enjoy people singing in harmonies. You might want to check out 'The Divas of Queendom' Beyonce medley.. so you could get a glimpse of what singing shows are like in the Philippines. Here, kids watch these shows with the whole family where singers sing live, and that's when they start to pick up some techniques and styles from what they hear. Then we have this home karaoke tradition, that's when we practice singing. I don't know, maybe that's why we have great singers here.😁

Please react to KZ! Start with her version of Adele’s Rolling in the Deep. She performed it live on the Wish Bus and at “Singer 2018”. Do choose the one from “Singer 2018”! It was all live, even the instrumentation. She’s a queen!
Hello Josh and Lucas 👋 I have really been enjoying all your reaction videos, especially of the truly AMAZING talents we have here in the Philippines. You should also try listening to the rendition of I Surrender (Katrina Velarde and Jessica )...more of Gigi De Lana's (Better Days, etc) music videos. Also try listening to uploaded Filipino karaoke videos of just regular folk and videos they have tagged as the 1 mic challenge/pass the 1 mic challenge. You'd be genuinely surprised 😁 Do also listen to the covers by 4 of our great singers - Katrina, Bugoy, Khel and Daryl. The harmonies when they sing together will give you chills.

Balik tayo kung saan
Sana pwedeng pagbigyan
Baka may ibang daan
Pwede nating balikan?
'Di ba sabi mo no'n sa'kin na ako 'yong panalangin?
Baka sakaling pwede pa iyong pilitin?
Oh, kay dami-rami nang mga mga hadlang sa aking isip
Pero ba't nand'yan ka pa?

Alam mo ba kung pwede lang 'tong mapigilan
Ayaw ko naman na parang ako'y yong iniiwasan

Ang bilis, sabik na sabik
Pwede bang hinaan ng saglit?

Hello Josh and Lucas 👋 I have really been enjoying all your reaction videos, especially of the truly AMAZING talents we have here in the Philippines. You should also try listening to the rendition of I Surrender (Katrina Velarde and Jessica )...more of Gigi De Lana's (Better Days, etc) music videos. Also try listening to uploaded Filipino karaoke videos of just regular folk and videos they have tagged as the 1 mic challenge/pass the 1 mic challenge. You'd be genuinely surprised 😁
Do also listen to the covers by 4 of our great singers - Katrina, Bugoy, Khel and Daryl. The harmonies when they sing together will give you chills.
