@4:31 What comes to mind here is Gojo Satoru. When the JJK collab came out, it was pretty easy to know people would've absolutely wanted Gojo playable. But instead he became a summon lol. Gojo's popularity parallels that of Lucifer funny enough, who just so happens to not be playable. 😅
Generally you do get more out of a character being playable, such as with Fate Episodes and seeing some skills and CAs in action compared to just being a Summon. Maybe they shouldve just given the Summon itself a Fate Episode like the Transcendence summons. I wouldve liked that.
"Fukuhara will remain as overall creative director for Granblue Fantasy, but as the scope of the franchise increases, he's been leaving more directorial duties to the directors of each individual game." (granblue_en tl) Yes he's not going away but is clearly getting promoted and delegating duties to other people
It’s incredible to me now one bad announcement can ruin what is usually a hype time in the fandom since we just get back to back announcements. I personally don’t see EOS (or maybe it’s just cope) purely because Cygames is trying to expand the IP and the game always sells out on a lot of merch whenever it’s announced, plus we don’t have all the Zodiacs yet so my cope is at least 2 more years. The gacha game being constantly updated I feel is necessary for expanding the IP since you never know when Cygames will make a new fan favourite they can milk for merch. I do disagree somewhat on what you point out, while yes I would prefer that the Extreme+ boss keeps the same HP, they mention that it’s going to drop a lot more Meat, hopefully meaning that your average player won’t need to farm as much now, not only that but moving Nightmare 100 to Day 1 is so useful to those of us who play GW just for the Sand, it seems like these changes if implemented well can mean that people who aren’t competing for the top spot spend less time out of their day in GW while still being able to get the Honours they require for the Sand. The biggest complaint I’ve heard about Seasonal Eternals, Evokers and probably Cardinals at some point is that they will leave the free versions to stagnate, I disagree with this just flat out. Every Eternal in my opinion fulfils a niche and fulfils it well enough to be worth the investment, especially after the most recent rebalance helped along some of the weaker ones. The Evokers can be as bad as they want them to be (even though I don’t think any of them are bad) because they have useful to niche Sub Ally effects, and the Cardinals are sort of just extra Grid pieces and will always be useful to Omega Grids. I do agree that locking Fate episodes behind alts sucks for enjoyers of those characters but critiquing that means critiquing the very concept of Fate Episodes, if I didn’t pull Summer Raziel then either I have to watch the Fate Episode online if someone posted it, or I don’t get to watch the Fate Episode. The new mode I think is a good thing, the Eternals grind basically requires you to play GW and DB so hopefully this mode will offer things like Revenant weapons or their drops to help speed the Recruitment and Uncap process up. The story aspect of it I’m expecting is gonna be like Tales of Arcarum, just a small little self contained story about the character doing something mundane, note that I’ve only read Maria Theresa and Caim’s Tales of Arcarum story so they might have made the stories a little meatier going forwards. Adding what is basically Domain bonuses to the Eternals also proves that Cygames won’t just abandon the free Eternals to make OP Gacha versions of them. Speaking of Gacha, I hate this change to Collabs, the pros of this change is that we probably won’t be getting many Duo units now so the full kits of characters can instead be all about the individual character instead, for example maybe someone really liked Sanji in the One Piece Collab and wanted him to have a whole supportive kit but because of Granblue limiting Collabs to 3 units, he instead got paired up with Zoro instead. Another positive is just the fact of us getting more characters, this depends wholly on the rates but provided that either they lower the Spark threshold to be a bit less costly or they make the odds themselves good, then fans of the franchise being added get more chances to use these characters in hopefully different elements. The cons are basically every everything else. Yes other Gacha games do make Collab characters limited time but Granblue has for 10 years, had them be free, it’s a hard change to get used to. The fact that they’re offering these characters means that in the future we could maybe only see one freebie character and maybe like 4 Gacha characters, we have no way of knowing. The fact that players who have extreme FOMO when it comes to limited time content will either have to spend money or budget their existing Crystals to afford the possibility of having to Spark multiple characters sucks. I’m one of those players and now if one of my favourite characters gets something it’s a lot harder to justify spending my Crystals on it since for this upcoming Collab provided that my luck is that terrible and the odds are the same as a standard 3% banner I’d have to spend 600 pulls worth of Crystals/Tickets (18,000 Crystals worth) in order to not feel like I missed out on everything the Collab offered. Oh and plus they’re not even going to be made to be meta characters so for other players this just takes away two SSR characters who were probably gonna be better this upcoming Collab in November. On to the directors leaving, I started in 2022 and so I’m not entitled to really speak on how bad 2022-2024 was for other players but personally I feel like all the examples you listed but the Scratchers which I wasn’t there for, have been overall good, people need something to spend Gold Moons on, Transcendence gives players something to do with modes like GW and DB once they max out their Eternals, and with how Cygames sells modern Grand weapons, buffing the older ones with a pretty easy to pull resource I think is a good idea to make it so that players don’t feel like their dupes were a waste. That’s my thoughts at least, sorry for the wall of text but this news definitely gives me a lot to talk about.
just want to echo something i said on another comment about guild wars: Guild wars is bad. No one likes doing it. It's just you doing menial tasks for hours on end for an entire week while watching netflix or something on the side. Farming meat is the worst because it's so fast you can't really focus on anything else too much. It takes too many brain cells. And that's current EX+, that you can 0b and simply press FA to clear it. The more buttons you add to ex+, the more brain power is required to doing this 20s task. Like, sure, you might get it done with faster, but I'd rather use 20% brainpower for 4 hours than 50% brainpower for 2 hours. Even the hyper whales are doing 2b setups now. That sucks. Maybe I will be proved wrong, and the pros (irl speed) compensate enough for the cons (brain power usage), and everyone will be happy. But I'm skeptical rn.
@@DuckyTalksGranblue You are 100% right about Meat farming and to be fair Unite and Fight as a whole, but how is this that much different from what it normally is? Like say instead of sitting there for a second and refreshing you now have to wait for let’s say 10 seconds, you’re still using the same amount of brain power to hit refresh to get to the end quest screen. Unfortunately we don’t know exactly how much more Meat it is so I can’t really argue my point very well since for all we know the Meat will be like you get 15 compared to the 7 you would’ve gotten before, alternatively they could go as high as 30 Meat a clear, I don’t know. I do still think that the Nightmare 100 changes are genuinely good for people who are there for the rewards only and don’t care about being the winning crew.
@@shadedhydra6674 It is worse exactly because u have to wait, at least thats how it s like to me. For the seasonal Eternal/Evoker, for me it s just in bad faith. You take the 2 groups of powerful characters who used the be "farm only", and making gacha variations of them. They used to be the groups where u couldnt just buy w money, but had to actually farm for them, so just putting them in as cash grabs is just cheap. What is stopping them from giving us more free Eternal alts via events? Or making the alts also farmable. Or making the alts easier to roll for n not seasonal locked. They made ToA as an event to FLB Evokers, they could very well do the same for the Eternal alts, events that r separated from GW. And just like the gacha limited collab characters, is this just gonna be something they will do more in the future? Whats next, needing a gacha requirement to unlock a new row 6 class? A new group like the Eternals n Evokers, but u have to own their gacha versions before u can FLB them by farming? They broke 2 traditions for money, who s to say they wont do it even more? And if u dont have the wps or units to make use of it, it is better to just stick to the normal Dopus keys. Abt the cage system, I do agree that it is something nice to make older weapons better, my grip is the limited sources of Cages, other than again, gacha. GBF is slowly turning into a normal gacha game where gacha is king, and fomo is at an all time high. Which not a lot of old players like, because they play GBF exactly because it isnt like that.
@@quangtuantran7181 Ah ok that makes sense, see for me I actually do prefer having a little extra time since I tend to be multi tasking while doing GW on my iPad, if I’m having to constantly keep my eye on the screen I can’t be doing some work or watching a video. Now the problem is that we won’t know how much more Meat we get and I don’t like arguing for something that we don’t have the full information for yet, I’m really hoping that it’s a big change since it would cut down on Meat farming so much on the first day and the farming day. This entirely hinges on how good the seasonal farmable characters are, and more importantly if they’re in the same element because if they directly powercreep the farmable base character then I am completely wrong and this point is null and void but the game heavily encourages getting these characters, the Eternals are not so hard to get their base version, for all of them it took me around a year, in that time you could easily focus all of your energy into your favourite Eternals to farm them pretty quickly, alongside just getting a free one from Seeds or Redemption. With the Evokers it is a longer grind but that’s because they also give players a Summon to increase HP or damage for their Grids as well as providing unique Sub Ally effects that tend to be much stronger than your average Sub Ally effect. The Cardinals by contrast are much easier to farm because right now they’re basically Grid Pieces. I doubt they’ll be offering hypothetical alts in events outside the Anniversary event, they’ve sort of stopped with freebie event characters outside of Collabs (accurate as I’m saying this, they could stop this too) and the free Eternals we’ve gotten from these Anniversary events have been frankly terrible, well Seox is fine for a free character but they made the mistake of making him Dark, like base Seox, one of the strongest Normal attackers in Dark. I think that offering new Eternals from Tales of Eternals isn’t the best idea, if I had to choose between buffing an existing character with resources from an event and introducing a new farmable version of that character who still needs to be farmed for, it makes more sense to give the extra abilities to the existing character. The issue with the point about a gacha for classes or farmable characters is that I can neither prove nor disprove that happening, neither can I prove that the devs will decide randomly to introduce new outfits for Gold Moons, they could do it but until they do I don’t see it likely that they’ll lock MC class progression or a new group of farmable characters behind the gacha. So this is definitely an issue with me specifically but personally I don’t really mind the powercreep as much as others since I started later, I started shortly before we got a really strong group of Collab characters, Luffy basically carried my early to mid game, I didn’t have to see my older characters get powercrept and I generally think that with just free pulls I’ve been able to get strong characters that can help clear what used to be endgame content, I think some powercreep is needed for games that constantly introduce newer fights that are made to be grinded, what I find to be a bigger issue is making a fight that needs to be farmed a ton of times and can only be beaten with gacha characters, some fights like Diaspora and especially GW bosses needing basically 2 Dispels a turn fall close to that, but you can still do them with a few of the core characters missing. I agree that the Illustrious weapons are by far the best Mainhands for most classes but since they’re locked to an element they don’t tend to override other elemental versions of a class, like the easiest example to use is Kengo where they’ll still be using the Kaneshige when the Illustrious Katana’s aren’t available, I personally think that the game is pretty generous with Gold Moons to allow players to get a one or two Illustrious weapons without having to heavily spend since they’ve been introduced. I can’t really argue about the Transcended Summons, I was mainly thinking about the Eternals who don’t require the gacha to farm it, whereas the Summons other than Lucifer will most likely require sparking them on the Classic Draw unless you’ve been playing for a long time, Lucifer and his Series are even harder to defend since they can’t even be sparked permanently. Speaking from my own experience here but I’ve pulled plenty of Cages just with free summons but since I’ve also not gotten any Grand weapon uncapped yet, I don’t feel confident enough to defend their gacha only implementation, I know that they’re somewhat available from Silver Moons but that means giving up Half Elixirs and I personally wouldn’t do that. The problem is gacha’s inherently give players FOMO, they are a pretty unethical genre, but unfortunately it’s always going to be there by virtue of the business model. Whenever a new Seasonal character or strong Grid piece is added it will through just existing give players that feeling, and some might spend money on it.
Unless ex+ gives 100 meat per run without gold, 10-20 extra meat is not enough justification to adding 11m more hp to the boss. Its like cygames believe that every one of their players are fking whales/primal, just remove the meat farm and let us do nm90-100 day 1. Also the collab is ofc bullshit bec the way gbf gacha system works, you will most likely have to spark for those 2 units bec rate up are a fking lie, which means 600 rolls just for what would be 2 mid units a month after. Not a good fking idea cygames.
@@DuckyTalksGranblue Brooooooo, that's so true lol. They should just copy the system from db with playing xx nm xx amt of times to unlock the harder level. That system would be just fine for gw, they already have it for nm 150/200
The collaboration gatcha and the GW change was the straw that brokes the camel back for me and i can say i was a veteran on this game, 10 years just to get stabbed in the back continuously, i was already hating UnF because it was such a chore, getting collab characters without paying was one of the atractives of this game and they just killed it in this patch, they said they won't make them too impactful but i press x to doubt...
UnF was already pissing me off the last few years this colab gacha stuff is just a massive L again I honestly hope the outrage is enough and people don't buy to much into it and they scrap that. Its very clear they know it was going to anger alot of people with how much suger coating and trying to downplay about the whole thing when talking about it
The 'Chronicle of the Eternals' is just Tales of Arcarum for the Eternals members. You get materials to recruit them and uncap, thats it. Another bloat event, I literally rather have more Dread Barrage. They should really make them a semi-permanent content, changing contents every month I understand why Kimura stepping down, he want to focus on Shadowverse 2 and its irl TCG
collab units do not matter if they are unusable, theres no problem if they make them actually good and gacha, i prefer that to having zero use also honor inflation in gw is a myth, you still have to play the same ammount of hours to achieve the same ranks, it is actually better for the people like me who just wants to get the honor rewards and log off
if they are actually good thats even worse, because they will be hyper limited that only show up once and never again. and if fights are harder and require more button presses you might get it done faster but the amount of brain power necessary is higher. And if I'm doing a menial task anyway I'd rather for it to have the minimal amount of input so i can minimize the brain power usage. 0b ex+ is easier than a 2b ex+, even if I have to ex+ for an extra hour
@@DuckyTalksGranblue no one says that the gacha units cannot be rerun ever, if they cant yeah thats really bad btw nm95 takes twice the ammount of buttons and mental strenght than clearing 200

Not a good fking idea cygames.
it's almost like Dread Barrage is a better event system in every single aspect, huh?
@@DuckyTalksGranblue Brooooooo, that's so true lol. They should just copy the system from db with playing xx nm xx amt of times to unlock the harder level. That system would be just fine for gw, they already have it for nm 150/200
i like your religious hat in the thumbnail
The collaboration gatcha and the GW change was the straw that brokes the camel back for me and i can say i was a veteran on this game, 10 years just to get stabbed in the back continuously, i was already hating UnF because it was such a chore, getting collab characters without paying was one of the atractives of this game and they just killed it in this patch, they said they won't make them too impactful but i press x to doubt...
UnF was already pissing me off the last few years this colab gacha stuff is just a massive L again I honestly hope the outrage is enough and people don't buy to much into it and they scrap that. Its very clear they know it was going to anger alot of people with how much suger coating and trying to downplay about the whole thing when talking about it
RAGAZZO WOOO
The 'Chronicle of the Eternals' is just Tales of Arcarum for the Eternals members. You get materials to recruit them and uncap, thats it. Another bloat event, I literally rather have more Dread Barrage. They should really make them a semi-permanent content, changing contents every month
I understand why Kimura stepping down, he want to focus on Shadowverse 2 and its irl TCG
collab units do not matter if they are unusable, theres no problem if they make them actually good and gacha, i prefer that to having zero use
also honor inflation in gw is a myth, you still have to play the same ammount of hours to achieve the same ranks, it is actually better for the people like me who just wants to get the honor rewards and log off
if they are actually good thats even worse, because they will be hyper limited that only show up once and never again.
and if fights are harder and require more button presses you might get it done faster but the amount of brain power necessary is higher. And if I'm doing a menial task anyway I'd rather for it to have the minimal amount of input so i can minimize the brain power usage. 0b ex+ is easier than a 2b ex+, even if I have to ex+ for an extra hour
@@DuckyTalksGranblue no one says that the gacha units cannot be rerun ever, if they cant yeah thats really bad
btw nm95 takes twice the ammount of buttons and mental strenght than clearing 200
