A bomb cyclone is a cyclonic storm where the central pressure drops by 24 millibars (or more) in 24 hours. The 'bomb' label refers to the speed of the intensification of the pressure differential. Last night's bomb cyclone dropped its central pressure by almost 60 millibars in 24 hours. The term has been in use since the 1950's.
If they rename it the bomb tax and that the tax will stop bomb cyclones, maybe it will stop cyclones, or elect Poillievre and he can just bomb the carbon tax which would best help everyone.
