Lyrics
There is a voice calling for me
There is a light coming down on me
There is a doubt that is clearing
There is a day that is dawning
There is a wound that is healing
There is a season waiting for me
There is a road that is turning
There is a fire still burning
A sickness in me
Constant pace towards the end
The need is stronger
This time the need is deeper
There is a peace I am searching
There is a freedom I'm depending on
There is a pain that's never ending
There is a rain falling only on me
There is a dream I am living
There is a life I am dreaming of
There is a death I'm awaiting
There is a home I am deserting
I hold my breath and wait
Only moments remain
Movement for departed hope
Effect for absent friend
Sever the faith from my body
Leave me begging for more
Take what I have and deliver me
Into everlasting sleep
Soothing trance
Colours fade
And disappear
Ethereal light
Showing me what I can do without
In a motionless scenes
There is only me
I take what I can
Controlling you to get ahead
Fading away
And leaving
Long for sleep
Closer now
Lead the way into death
Every wretched dream
I have left behind
Every waking hour
I lie in wait
Sucked inside by will
Gone into the flood
All my questions unfurled
As I was put to the test
Once I'm below there's no turning back
Plunging into the deepest void
Departed shell left drained behind
Pacing roads unknown
Searching for a new home
Desert in my eye
Barren lands inside - Видеоклипы
Mike: "There is a wound that is healing".
Also Mike: "There is a wound that's always bleeding".
funny how the "heavier" line is sung in such a mellow and melancholic song, compared to... this one
You can sing one of the lyrics to the music of the other
It will still fit
I read this comment exactly when he growled it.
Its another wound
@@julianregulusfuego7453 😄😄
I miss this Opeth more than my ex.
Not a fan of their new stuff?
Haha
@@Lila-ky9oh I agree my ex is nothing but **t
It's a fact
Same
In Cauda Venenum was good, but god, I miss this man's growls
Heaviest song in standard tuning I've ever heard.
Either this or Heir Apparent would be my pick.
But yes, this is incredibly heavy for E standard.
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion- 1985 r......
Martin Lopez needs his own DrumCam Channel.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!! Those vocals!! :o
zzz
yeah. Best growling ever it was !
We will forerver miss those vocals.
He genuinely sounds like he got possessed
How does a man's voice go so low
@@AnuragTyagi96there is no debate about it. His growls back in the days were about as good as extreme vocals can get. Name one better extreme vocalist/ death vocalist and I'll be genuinely happy because that would have to be pretty fucking good
Martin Lopez is a fucking legend...I remember 10 years ago when I watched this dvd for the first time, it totally stoked me...I watched it at least 5 times a week, trying to understand his style..so clean and imaginative, full of influences from many generes..just one of the best metal drummers ever! Long live to Opeth in every form
I just want to confirm what you said... Martin is such a beast, his playing is so precise, and it´s full of many details dynamic and rhytmic wise.
The golden line-up.
So true
It still blows my mind how good he’s growls/Gutterals/Screams we’re! The GOAT for me!
were? is he dead?
@@thatonemetalhead4176 No but he stopped with the death metal vocals after Watershed in 2008.
@@Bobble86 did he ever say why?
@@thatonemetalhead4176”is he dead” no his growls got bad
@@thatonemetalhead4176without technique, your vocal cords can only do this type of stuff for so long
Lopez left behind a fucking legacy with this song \m/
I don't split opeth into musical era's, I split their albums into how thicc mikael was at time of release
Blackwater park😂
And this is why this album is one of my favorites.
Same. Got the vinyl last week and it is playing at least three times per day
Deliverance and Damnation are masterpieces
Best snare in the whole world!
MrBroncolinShows latin influence all over
St anger is better
Thicc
@@paulpv7 Bruh
That snare with those guitrs awww
Gotta love that fucking flawless double bass work, paired with Mikael's then-still-good deep growling, alongside one of the heaviest riffs ever...Ugh I love this song.
What do you mean by double bass though? Mendez plays an electric bass here
Meshuggapeth double bass pedals, not the orchestral instrument.
Boomer Roberts Ooooh yeah duh.
I think the double bass work and drumming in general on Deliverance is one of the album's strongest qualities. I believe Mikael achieved what we wanted to do, which was make their heaviest album yet at the time, and Lopez definitely brought the right levels of technicality, brutality and emotion.
Those extra snare hits in the verses in this live version are radass too by the way!
His growling was at its best during Ghost Reveries~Watershed and The Roundhouse Tapes clearly shows that lol.
@@dtonpbac actually, in The Roundhouse Tapes he was starting to growl in a different way already.
I love Lopez. He has style. Axenrot is also a great drummer, too.
No one ever mentions Mendez ☺ such an awesome bassist 👌
Mendez is super respected by the fans, and justifiable so.
Well both have left now :(
now, who the hell is going to replace them? This is looking B L E A K (pun intended)
@@pyramidhead3109 well great to see the answer became waltteri he is great
this was their best lineup I think, fucking amazing
buddhastalin most "metal" lineup no doubt
idk man, Peter has no stage presence and he didn't write a lot of great solos. Martin Lopez was awesome tho.
Axe > Lopez
Axe is a great drummer, but he is no Martin Lopez.
Peter co wrote the whole Orchid and Morningrise albums, plus some great tracks like Demon of the Fall and Blackwater park. He also had a great feeling for soloing and playing.
Lopez slays Axe in every sense.
in my opinion there´s no comparison between Deliverance and the rest of Opeth´s albums.
Deliverance just blow people´s mind!!
3:07 amazing Opeth moment
@Segnostique Ackchyually!
@Segnostique damn right...buddy
That snare...never heard one sound so sexy.
Ah
This version is better than the studio one
Peak Opeth. Lopez contributed so much in terms of groove.
My favourite Opeth song, and the best riff Morbid Angel never wrote \m/
Omg lmao. True.
This is awesome! i love his growls here, one of the best i've ever heard
Actually he was having transition period during this time. His growls were not stable and didn't sound good. He discovered deeper and more complete growls around the time when they recorded Ghost Reveries album and he reached his peak during that tour. If you listen to The Roundhouse Tapes live album he sounds way better than this album.
fb_dtonpb his growls were always in there prime from around my arms your hearse to ghost reveries but you see a decline from 2006 on. And it is very apparent from listening to watershed.
@@lukeburtis1948 You could say it's very heir apparent
This is his best voice performance, the growls are in another level.
Check him out in Bloodbath too, best era of the band
Lopez at 4:24....wow!! Amazing!
I wish I was born earlier so I could had seen Opeth in their golden era during the early 2000's.
Saw them last year. They started with 'Sorceress'
@@markblaauw4961I bet they are still nice live but NOTHING comes even close to Mikael's growls back in the days. Opeth, Katatonia and Bloodbath. He sounded like a fucking demon back in the days and his growls haven't been the same lately.
Opeth at their best!
So clean, so nice and such a mess in my pants
Love how they don’t say anything before starting the song. I just think it’s badass that he puts up the devil horns and then the cymbals come in shortly afterwards
well isnt lopez just the master of smooth tempo changes, i say fuck yeah after every one. he just nails the groove.
Hell yeah. Hate the constant frame changes but this blew me away when it came out. Still love it. I can't listen to the studio versions anymore. They are great live.
Lopez is a completely different drummer live. That's the part that makes it difficult to listen to the original stilted album versions for me.
How come nobody talks about what a f**ing great bass player Martín Méndez is!!!!! So underrated....!
Very underrated bassist. This song is hard as hell to nail on bass. I've tried. The main riff isn't hard but the other parts are pretty tricky.
@@sammitchell3657 I agree! I've managed to play this song and a couple of others on bass but yes, they are very tricky!
@@sammitchell3657 Not only is it hard, but doing a side to side headbang while playing that is even harder
I love old Opeth, new Opeth, they open your mind for new dimentions in music, always. ♥️
what an amazing performance!!! opeth never dissapoints
Masterpiece
Very impressive live display of double bass
8:08 that shit scares me every time! :) Fucking brutal!
I miss old Opeth.
Good thing you can still listen to it.
It's also fortunate that they're still doing their thing while not alienating themselves and their fans who don't want to hear them growling on their new material
Meshuggapeth can you say that again lol
My first ever concert was Opeth in 2005 when I was 16. 400+ concerts later it is still the best one I've ever seen.
3:06 I never get tired of this NASTY riff holy jesus
You Better Dont Sleep to Songs of Opeth because the heavy part is always waiting to taking you by surprise.
But I sleep to every Opeth song ever made and thats how important you guys are for music lovers like us.
Mikael in his prime. Damn, his growls were so brutal.
4:25 no shit! Epic fill !
M#lovelopez
This lineup will always be Opeth's best one..!
Heavy asf!
Growls on this one are spot on!
Best Opeth line-up ever!! Like if you agree. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love it😍
This set never gets old.
I wish mikael could write music like this style
Opeth signature style in new album
I am not talking about growling but the sound signature
Flawless performance.
EXCELLENT.
I saw this gig. Mind blowing
too much song level !!! all the sound of love !!!
legendary
Best theme!
love the bass lines :-)
The folks at this so must feel sooooo blessed! The drums on this track are just amazing..,,brilliant LP 💜 thanks for sharing the visual
01:55 "...CONSTIPATED towards the end......the need is stronger.....this time the need is deeper......."
Those are some juicy riffs and transitions
Great
Absolute Peak Opeeth
An incredible band!
That snare!!!
" Just WOOOOOOW"
I want them to get back into this style again....
Best live video of this massterpiece
Best live DVD ever
Best Opeth line-up.!!!
those unique deep growls !
De las mejores canciones de Opeth
the production on this for a live recording, there's nothing like it. flawless
I wish I would have seen them earlier on; but I did get to see them when they toured for this live Lamentations DVD at Irving Plaza. Amazing show. Lucky to have seen Martin Lopez; miss him and this period of Opeth.
My favorite opeth song.
Peak Opeth.
Ce batteur est tellement fantastique..........
FUXKINgG YES! WISH I heard this when i saw em live
Que banda aun recuerdo la primera vez que escuche quede cautivado.
That double bass.. These guys are fucking beasts!
Gran Banda. Me encanta esta cancion de las mejores para mi....
Simplesmente minha banda favorita 🤘
Opeth ❤
MASTER SONG!! \\m//
Som idêntico ao de estúdio que maravilha!
This outro is so atmospheric
Same as studio versio, incredible!
Hail OPETH ! ...Great performance..greetings from KK Sabah🇲🇾🤘🏼🇲🇾👊🤘🏼
DAMN I wish I was there.
Those growls wow...
Nice
The need is stronger
❤
so fucking metal !!
The Greatest Death-Metal Song Ever
Opeth was beauty, dark, brutal, loving, haunting, heavy now its gone
Its still darkest on planet..maybe not in terms of heavy riffs and vocals, but the feel and lyrics are darker than any band out here
If you think it's gone you never got Opeth to begin with.
martin lopez \,,/ \../
I miss him! He's an amazing fucking drummer!
In Soen Now ..
oh, akerfeldt, esos growls si se pueden oir
🔥🤘🏼🖤
Krótko mówiąc, miazga.
Master's Apprentices: Michael's death growls are mastered, all others are mere apprentices

As intensely gorgeous today as it was nearly 20 years ago when I first saw this.
