Awesome. I like it, looks well done. I bought an easel many years ago on sale for $150, I still have it. It is sturdy but has many flaws. The side boards were not long enough to keep the canvas from moving so if you were on the edge of the canvas it would flip off, and no backing at all for a small canvas too, frustrating. I was planning on fixing it but I just put a board behind the canvas to keep the painting from flipping off, also there's no place to put pallets of paint, so you had to have a small table on the side. It's a very flawed design. I just wanted an easel so bad at the time. Making one sounds like a much better plan.
I have a floor easel that looks like an H style but with three legs, no casters. I've watched at least a dozen videos on diy easels. I wish yours had popped up sooner! Best one by far. Thank you for sharing. 👍😎🎉
Holy shit how tall would you say that thing is? It came out so dope, I’m actually going to try to make something like this now after seeing this. Wish me luck! 😅
I apologize if this may sound like a stupid question. But how can you paint comfortably and balance your body to the easel with that table sticking out ? Can the table be adjusted to be out of your way? All in all , this easel is the best DIY i've seen done with a low budget... I might consider doing this one , but making the table go sideways or fold down... something to that effect. But really, Well done though! xx
@@jimmymiracleart Thank you for your reply. Makes perfect sense. I'm new to your channel and as i'm also an artist, i got drawn to your work on the few videos i've seen so far. And thanks to searching for DIY Easels, it got me to your channel :) ... Thank you for sharing!
The overall height is about 7 feet. The table part is about 3 feet (waist height). I don’t have plans; I just estimated the width and wanted to fit a 3-4 foot canvas comfortably on the easel. Good luck!
Basically I extended 1.5 foot long 2 x 4’s off the main long part of the back support. I attached them at about waist and ankle level then connected with more 2 x 4s to finish frame for the shelf.
This is honestlly one of the most impressive DIY easels I've ever seen!! You did great!!
@CuteCat200200 Thank you so much! Been using it about 3 weeks now and I'm still really happy with it. I put a lot of work into it.
I love this! Especially the place for your palette! I'm going to do it.😊
This is absolutely amazing.....I definitely want to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!!
@tnjp5 thanks friend!
By far the best easle I have ever seen! Thank you for sharing!
Brilliant! 👌💖
This is the best I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your video. Love your easel desk you made.
You could build that paint pallet shelf in the back rather than the front.
Yes, you could. I like it in front so I can set my palette down and pick up quickly.
@@jimmymiracleart I've watched the video many times. It's well built!
Love this. Enlisting my son p, who has the skills, to help me make one.
This looks like a very well thought out easel. Love all the attention to detail. I'm going to try it. thx for sharing
Sooo cool!

Great and simple. I’ve been looking for something like this.
Does the top bracket hold the canvas by weight alone?
@ahaley1654. Thank you! Yes the top bracket works by weight alone!
Holy shit how tall would you say that thing is? It came out so dope, I’m actually going to try to make something like this now after seeing this. Wish me luck! 😅
Awesome! Good luck; you can do it! This one is about 7 feet tall in total.

Good question. I paint from the shoulder at arms length. The table is only 16” long.

Great design! Do you have plans or measurements for the parts?

I need the front shelf..can't figure it out.

It even doubles as a medieval throne fit for a deleterious king!!! Or a torture device😢
lol! Yes the top shelf of the easel is also part guillotine 😅
