I am proud of our indigenous Amerindian brothers RUPERT WILLIAMS and DANNY DANIELS for risking their lives to take this man on an incredible journey. #proudtobeindigenousamerindian
***** Hi Gordon, I am equally proud of Rupert and Danny, but we must remember that what is a novelty and an adventure to him is a way of life for Rupert and Danny, therein lies the reason for him choosing them. I seek not to remove this mans' glory, but only to make him understand that we who live here have gone there before him, and we shall go there again: without him. Reminds me of another famous explorer, who "discovered the Americas" when in fact, Indigenous Americans had long populated the Americas and the Caribbean.
Enjoyed your vidio on exploring guyana.i was borned in Guyana but live most of my life here in Canada. I am just so amazed how beautiful our hinterlands is.
We are all so blessed to have borned in our beautiful country or Guyana hope all the governments would continue to preserve the beauty of our interland.i live in Canada now but would never forget the beautiful time I enjoyed growing up in Guyana.
I enjoyed taking this trip with you guys while on my computer at home in Atlanta. You must really have a love for exploration. I was afraid just looking at those rapids.. Thanks for the ride.
The trip was okay, some good footage and everything. what I truly abhor though is the statements that he is the first person to make this trip. this is totally incorrect. My grandfather, who worked as a Boat hand and sometimes Pork Knocker used to regale us with stories of this trip and others which he did numerous times in his capacity as a Bow-man, in his earlier days. To my knowledge the Guyana Defense Force regularly made this trip as part of their training regimen, including scaling Mt. Ayangana, for which its HQ is named. just documenting his trip/exploration would have been sufficient for me, to seek to establish himself as a pioneer in a land possessed for centuries by Native Indigenous Indians and by hardy Black men who have traversed every nook and cranny of our beloved country back and forth in search of its hidden treasures (Gold and Diamonds), is a slap in the face of all peoples in Guyana. I hope he is reading this, and I hope he has the ability to realize and understand and a sense of consciousness to admit that he is not blazing any trails here. It's credulous enough to have done what he did, but let me make him painfully aware that you sir are no Edmund Hillary.
+Trevor O Best Clearly the most dangerous time for this gentleman was his stay in Georgetown, where he contracted dengue fever. There is no doubt that it is a challenging trip, but I find the claim that this is the first ever trip from the source of the Potaro rather difficult to believe as well. That said, I am super glad for the documentary of the trip.
A typical Briton, driven by his small-country complex, combined with his colonial sense of entitlement and self-importance. Driven to revisit the former Colonies as if they are his God-given playground for him to re-enact some Victorian-era "discovery" fantasy.
Beautiful country awesome. Please let it remain in our hands. Not the Chinese or any other foreign power.Or greedy politicians. Please don't sell our forests for personal gain. Its priceless.
Guyana has many beautiful places such as: the capital Georgetown, the Kaieteur National Park, the border city of Lethem, Bartica and the Amerindian population of Baramita in Region 1. ✌
