- Avenged Sevenfold, the californian band performs one of its first live events at Showcase Theater in California.
In 2001 the band had only published its first studio album "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet", a success that led them to worldwide fame and to other 5 records.
It's impressive that Shads knew how to command a crowd this early in their career. You can really see that they'd become one of the biggest bands in the world from their performance, even in 2001.

The AFI influence is always understated in 1999-2004 Avenged.
I think Matt referred to AFI during fact or fiction when he was talking about doing a similar Halloween ep idea at the time of making a little piece of heaven...so obviously there’s gotta be some influence of them somewhere
Saw a7x this year. Band still rips but thier early metalcore days are something else.

I'm 90% sure I was at this show. I think it was the CD release show for them and Bleeding Through. They started and ended their tour at the showcase and I was at both.

Baris Gurel impressive how people always insult bands when they achieve success. in the live at LBC a goddamn FAN sang walk, and they interacted a lot of times during the concert. Open your fucking eyes, dude.
besides, the Self Titled is infinitely better in every possible way than STST.

Saw avenged sevenfold in 2001 in a club no bigger than my living room and maybe 30 people were there. It was the most amazing night ever. I miss The Rev so much. Band went to total cap after he passed away. Breaks my heart

22:53 Fuckin' Val, man! Not a big fan of Avenged's first album, but "The Art of Subconscious Illusion" is a great song and the part with Val screaming is SO fucking awesome! She'd probably kick some ass in a pit. "We Come Out At Night", "Streets", "Warmness on the Soul" and "Darkness Surrounding" are also really good songs. The rest are kinda, ehh.... Just my opinion.
