I tried doing this repair, may I say how easy he makes it look , he has true skills which come with years of practice, I tried doing this repairs while the motherboard was connected to the frame , it failed as the frame was acting has a huge heat sink which stopped the solder from melting, but one day I will be as good as you hahaha, may I ask what microscope you use ? Do you recommend the AD106S?
This is my problem now with my ipad mini 2 i didnt known that that connector is to weak. Now i dont know if my newly purchased digitizer is defective or only that connector is damage i see 3 gold bar is removed 😌
I done the same on my ipad mini 2 I damaged two pins but the digitizer worked fine with two missing pins I did not bother getting it repaired I just use it, and works fine
When i add flux then hot air, solders not melting. What you think the problem could be? I'm using Amtech flux and it says lead free. Maybe it's the problem?
My kid cracked her screen on her iPad and it was working fine before I tried to replace the screen. Now it’s ghosting with or without a digitizer. Please help!
Hi, I have a question. I have 3 iphones that have no power. After putting the boards under ther thermal camera the CPU is the hottest point on the board, does that mean that the short is on CPU itself?
It depends on the phone, I would consult your tools and schematics for the device/s in this situation. Though their is a moderate probability that the cpu does contain a short. Troubleshooting is your friend to find the solution.
CPU heat does not mean CPU short. CPU gets hot when it turns on. Unusual high heat or single heat spot on the CPU could possibly mean short but it's uncommon for CPU's to short out unless the device suffered liquid damage.

If the digitizer connector is bad, what are symptoms of it being bad? Not working at all? Will it cause ghosting?
Nice Video my friend

How did you apply the solder on the pads? Why does it stick to the pad?
Have you tried using kapton tape as a heat shield?
