As a Unity minister and meditation teacher, I really appreciated this video. The part about Mary Magdalene, while welcomed, actually did not go far enough. The early church, namely Pope Gregory, was the one who turned Mary into a prostitute, when in fact none of the Gospels say this, yet this is what is widely believed, for the reasons that you site. In fact, I recently tried watching the TV series The Chosen, and when the character of Mary was introduced as a prostitute, I immediately turned it off. Since her portrayal is based on a lie, how could I trust that the rest of the show would be truthful?

As a Unity minister and meditation teacher, I really appreciated this video. The part about Mary Magdalene, while welcomed, actually did not go far enough. The early church, namely Pope Gregory, was the one who turned Mary into a prostitute, when in fact none of the Gospels say this, yet this is what is widely believed, for the reasons that you site. In fact, I recently tried watching the TV series The Chosen, and when the character of Mary was introduced as a prostitute, I immediately turned it off. Since her portrayal is based on a lie, how could I trust that the rest of the show would be truthful?

The flip side to this is that this all the lies of the devil. Sitting and meditating allows you to communicate with the devil, not God. God is perfection and therefore cannot deal directly with unpure beings (sinners) of which we all are. This is why we must go through an ordained priest for communication.
